The best thing to do is to head to your local shop and try a few out. But don't completely dismiss Ebay. I bought a used Sheraton II, lefty by the way, and saved a couple of hundreds of dollars. It did need a little work, but was still worth it. I also got a Takamine acoustic/electric from a seller on Ebay for half the usual price. The key to guitar shopping on Ebay is to do your research. Check out the person's feedback. Also, look for guitar shops that run "Ebay" stores. Good luck in the search and when you're rich and famous, you can buy all of us Casinos. (Lefty-Sunburst, please)

Check Ebay. I got a great Takamine acoustic-electric for about 400 bucks.

I've read in the past that Noel has used a Boss Digital Delay 3 pedal. This can be picked up for a good price on Ebay. I've also read that Noel uses a SIB Echodrive, which I've never used myself because used ones go for at least 300 bucks!!!!! I have a dan electric echo pedal which is very nice and wasn't too expensive. Good luck shopping!!!!!

In every live performance of Gas Panic that I've heard, the solo never sounds live what's on the album.
I think there was some pretty nice sound mixing happening there.
A tube screamer, wah-wah pedal and a delay pedal can help you get close.

The best advice is to practice, practice, practice.
I've been playing for about 4 and a half years and there are still times where the f-chord or a barre chord mess me up. But I know I can play them a hell of a lot better than I used to. It can be frustrating, but just keep working on it.

Make sure you practice and make sure you have fun. Things will get frustrating at times, but have a good time!!!!!

I popped in my Oasis bootleg CD, "1996", which has Sad Song from Jools Holland and it was spot on. Thanks for your help.

I was sitting around with my acoustic and my Tascam today and tried playing Sad Song. I've got the latest chord book edition that was released after Heathen Chemistry. The book is not too bad when it comes to being right.
I was playing along with the DM Japanese release and it didn't sound right at all in standard tuning. I tried putting a capo on just to see if that helped and it didn't. Anyone have any ideas? I was playing others songs in standard tuning and they sounded fine, or at least as fine as they could with me playing along.
Thanks!!!!

Songbird is mega easy to learn.
First Oasis song I learned to play on acoustic guitar was Wonderwall.
Whatever is also fun to play on an acoustic.
Good Luck with the lessons and make sure to always have fun, no matter how hard it might get!!!!

First song I learned to play was "House of the Rising Sun" by The Animals. Helps you practice a handful of the major chords. The first Oasis song I learned to play was "Wonderwall."
Give those a shot and make sure you have fun. There's no point if you don't.

I bought my Les Paul at musiciansfriend.com and its a great guitar. Granted, I live in the states, so shipping outside of North America could be expensive.

I've got a Ts-9 reissue and paid about 80 bucks for it on Ebay. That will likely be your best bet in finding one for a good price. However, most likely people are just sellling used ones.

I feel your pain. Barre chords are tough to do, but eventually I was able to play them without much trouble. That's on an electric guitar. On an acoustic, holy crap!!!!

Just work it out yourself and you'll get the sound you're looking for. Of course, for that Spinal Tap sound, you crank everything to "11."

Do a websearch for Oasis Tabs and I'm sure you'll come across several sites that will have what you're looking for. Flashbax is also in the Oasis chordbook that was released a couple of years ago. There are a few tricky parts in the song (because I'm not that good) but it is fun to play.

I bought one of the less fancy straps from them and it is the best strap I've ever bought. I had been through about a half dozen before I came upon the Eldorado and I'm a very satisfied customer. But, I will also agree, they are very pricey!!!!

Before you worry about solos, make sure you can play the rhythm parts first. I'm an OK rhythm player, but suck at solos, so I understand any frustration you may be going through. Oasis songs that have solos that even I can figure out are The Hindu Times and to my surprise, Gas Panic. Good luck and even if things may not go well, be sure you're still having fun or what's the point.

I've got an Epiphone Sherton II, vintage sunburst and an Epiphone Les Paul Standard, cherry sunburst. I've also got a chunk of crap Rogue acoustic which isn't even made anymore. Hey, it was my first guitar and it was cheap. Us lefties don't get as many choices as you righties do.
