Before you worry about solos, make sure you can play the rhythm parts first. I'm an OK rhythm player, but suck at solos, so I understand any frustration you may be going through. Oasis songs that have solos that even I can figure out are The Hindu Times and to my surprise, Gas Panic. Good luck and even if things may not go well, be sure you're still having fun or what's the point.

Hindu Times is pretty simple, I would like more info on hammer ons and pull off blues effects although I think I know the basics.
Pull off - Play two notes then remove your third finger when the note is played leaving the first in place
Hammer on - similar as pull off but in reverse order I think as in playing two notes at the same time but not sure about releasing your first finger?

noel is our generation's pete townshend- both can write amazing songs, but when it comes to solos, a 7 year old can do better.

keep in mind guys that he can´t play any solos! as so can´t I.. so, for us, any solo that doesn´t revolve around only 2 frets is hard for us.. for instance, the hindu times solo IS pretty easy because thre are only 2 strings involved and the frets are one next to the other.. but if you take don´t look back in anger, champagne supernova, live forever (i think it´s pretty hard) then it can get quite challenging...
anyway, I´d recommend you trying the little by little solo...

noel is our generation's pete townshend- both can write amazing songs, but when it comes to solos, a 7 year old can do better. If townshend would get off the damn synthesizer u'd see how good he is...not amazing but half decent he just doesn't do it often

Yeah, Noel's no Hendrix, but the solo's that he does, fit perfectly for the songs.

who the fuck cares if he isnt like hendrix, hes over rated anyway imho.
the fact is, he doesnt need to play 17097509321 notes per second. Sometimes, the simpler the better.
