I've got a Ts-9 reissue and paid about 80 bucks for it on Ebay. That will likely be your best bet in finding one for a good price. However, most likely people are just sellling used ones.

I bought one just a few days ago, I was like you, wondering what it was like, was it better than most pedals etc. So I just went out and bought it (split it with my bro, actually), and it sounds great 150 euros around

www.musiciansfriend.com has an assortment of the tube screamers. I have played them before and I am thinking about buying one myself but i haven't pulled the trigger yet. I really have my eye on a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe tube amp.

Listen...its a great overdrive pedal. Its not going to get you heavy gain-but its perfect for giving your signal a nice boost or a bit of gain. Pretty typical Noel sound (these days). What kind of amp do you have? IT may make a difference, as I played my screamer on a mesa boogie and it sounded like crap, but on my Fender amps it sounds great.
