I prefer the mix where both different parts like Let There Be Love over either one.

I think they kinda fell into a rut in the 2000's with releasing the same type singles; the rock up-tempo lead single, the ballad, and the Noel sung single.....

I agree. The intro to the demo was awesome. I love the clip where both Liam and Noel are listening to it on the tour bus....

Anyone else ever think of this? Not musically, but both were kind-of generic rock sounds people think of when they think of Oasis. Both the lead single to an album. Both are said to have harkened back to the Definitely Maybe sound when released. Even the types of lyrics are similar; contrasting actions like "I get up - when I'm down, I can't swim - but my soul won't drown" and "I got my feet on the street but I can't stop flying My head's in the clouds but at least I'm trying." I think both were written by Noel as an attempt to write a song that harkened back to the more punk-sound of early day Oasis.

I think they did one on the GMEX gig after Don't Go Away....I remember watching the second one, but can't remember at the moment, but it was a major gig.

I do think that it was the fact that he was playing bass. He's probably technically better than Noel at the guitar, but not a great bass player. I think they should have got someone who was actually good at the bass. This is heard in all of the versions of My Generation, the bass solo is lacking, where everything else is good. I do like some of the songs though...

I think that getting his teeth knocked out in 2002 changed some of the pronunciation of the words, but not the actual voice itself. I also think that the stance and singing style helped ruin his voice, while the drugs allowed him to continue singing this way.....

I never understood why The Importance of Being Idle is considered one of Noel's better songs. Personally, I don't think its very good.

For some reason I never got the love for The Importance of Being Idle. To me, it doesn't really seem like that good of a song....

I actually think that SOTSOG is a pretty good record. If they would've just taken of PYMWYMI, ICSAL and Little James, and added a few B-sides into it, while separating WDIAGW and Sunday Morning Call it probably would've been well received. The only album I really don't like is Heathen Chemistry, and that's because of the production....

I thought that the DOYS tour was the worst tour because of the loss of spontaneity. It seemed kinda like just a bunch of traveling musicians doing the exact same thing over and over again. Just going through the motions, with the only difference being whether or not Liam's voice was good or bad. Although the instruments may have been technically as good and tight as they had ever been, the passion seemed lost to me. Oh and Mucky Fingers is probably my least favorite song ever(besides maybe The Good Rebel), never understood why Noel likes it so much....

Why is this never seemed to be mentioned as one of Noel's better songs post 2000? Or why do you think it was never played live after the middle of the SOTSOG tour? You'd think that it also would have been played on the HFB tour, considering it is more of a rock song then anything else he played....could have been a bit of a atmosphere changer. Personally I feel it's one of the better Noel sung Oasis songs.
