Why is this never seemed to be mentioned as one of Noel's better songs post 2000? Or why do you think it was never played live after the middle of the SOTSOG tour? You'd think that it also would have been played on the HFB tour, considering it is more of a rock song then anything else he played....could have been a bit of a atmosphere changer. Personally I feel it's one of the better Noel sung Oasis songs.

I don't think that Noel thinks much of anything on SOTSOG apart from Fuckin' In The Bushes and Gas Panic. Though I personally feel WDIAGW is a great song.

the acoustic version played on jools holland is far superior to the album version. the demo isn't to bad either.

Been listening to this a lot recently. I think it's a brilliant song. I love the album version best - it has real edge to it as opposed to the softer acoustic version. There's also the 'acoustic promo' version which is decent.

All songs get some love on here at some point . . . I personally love the song and find it to be one of the highlights on SOTSOG. Great tune, and I love playing it on my acoustic.

The problem with WDIAGW is that it is too similar in sound to Little by Little which is more famous, so it gets overlooked.

All 3 versions are killer (album, demo, Jools Holland). Versatile track!

Compared to Sunday Morning call it's brilliant.

Ive always really like it. It always got on my nerves how quiet Gems solo was on the Jools performance.

All 3 versions are killer (album, demo, Jools Holland). Versatile track! Is the fourth version no good then? I guess with the full band version, that makes five. As for the song, I guess Noel feels it's one of those 'of it's time' songs.

Jools Holland is the best version. Still blows me away! It is a pretty dark song though.

It's not that it's no good, it's just that as far as I can tell, the "semi-acoustic" version is just the album version minus a bunch of tracks (and if you ask me, the song is better with those tracks included). Ergo, I don't really think of it as a truly distinct version of the song. I do enjoy the full band live version, though again, it isn't distinct from the album version so I don't really think of it as a unique version of the song. The 3 I mentioned are all totally distinct from one another arrangement-wise. Sorry for being a pain in the butt!

I think that and Sunday Morning Call are decent enough in their own right, but they suffer from having two similar sounding, dreary Noel-sung songs next to each other on the album.

Sunday Morning Call is shit.
But, i've always loved WDIAGW.
Barring the lyric about the receipt, that's always annoyed me for some reason.

I was surprised WDIAGW wasnt brought out for HFB seeing as it would fit perfect with TDOYAM and TIOBI

Bit too much like Paul Weller's Sunflower for my liking. Decent tune though.

A very underrated tune for sure. It might have been smarter not to have WDIAGW? and SMC to be back to back on the album. I only got to see this song once live at Radio City Music Hall in May of 2000. The solo sounded epic live if my memory serves correct.

It's pretty boring. Typical dreary Noel ballad, at this point we have far too many.

I think it's a great song, especially the Jools Holland version. There's an air of vulnerability to that version that's only sporadically seen on the b-sides (e.g. Rockin Chair).
On a side note, I also think they should have made Mike Rowe a full time member (MTV Unplugged he is great, and on Noel's tour his keyboards have added colour to tunes like the acoustic Supersonic and Talk Tonight). His keyboard/piano contribution on that Jools Holland version brings that melancholy to the fore that is somewhat spolit by the stadium anthem version on the album.

Anyone got a decent rip of the Jools Holland version? The only ones I can see on YouTube are bad quality VHS rips.

Anyone got a decent rip of the Jools Holland version? The only ones I can see on YouTube are bad quality VHS rips. There weren't many DVD recorders going round in 2000, and it's never been repeated. So, VHS is likely to be the best there is, unless someone managed to get it on something like S-VHS.

Ergo, I don't really think of it as a truly distinct version of the song. Not to my ears - sounds like a totally different musical track - the only connection to the final version is the vocal track.
