Now Beady Eye and NGHFB have had a whole tour each, if you had to pick one song from their live shows (Not one from each, just one single song) that you think was the best live track which song would you pick? Not including Oasis songs of course.
For me there is only one winner:
Wigwam live for me is an absolute monster and nothing else comes close. So so good.
What has been your favourite live song?

I don't think most of the NGHFB songs translate live, tbh the only song I really like live is what a life

Everybody's on the Run for me. Close second to Freaky Teeth.
Although my single favourite live performance from the past couple years was the If I Had a Gun from T in the Park.

For Beady Eye, so many of their songs translate well live. But I'd agree with Wigwam. The Morning Son is amazing but I think the studio version captures the song best.
For NGHFB, I'd say AKA..WAL, once they got it right. Early in the tour it was clunky and too guitar heavy but by the end it sounded just perfect.

I've seen NGHFB 3 times and Beady Eye once, but I'd say the highlight out of all them was Four Letter Word, was total madness.

freaky teeth is good but I wasn't really counting that as it doesn't translate from and song off an album.

To be honest I'm not really keen on Everybody's On The Run live. Love the studio version though. Noel's two best live songs are Stranded On the Wrong Beach and Freaky Teeth imo.

Hmm, I'd say Wigwam for Beady Eye, Chris' drum bit is epic and Everybody's On The Run for NG.

If I had A Gun at T in the Park for me. That's pretty high up there for me. And a near Oasis like performance with crowd included. That's pretty hard to beat imo. Along with Freaky Teeth. Also, surprised that no one has said RM.

Personally I don't think it has anything to do with HFB songs not translating as well live. I believe that's fairly short sighted and ignores far too many factors.
For a little more than half of the first half of the tour Noel was adjusting to being a frontman and I believe that diminished the performance of many of the songs early on. Secondly, Beady Eye had over a decade's worth of experience on their side when it came to performing. Whereas Noel formed a backing band right out of the shoot. Him and his band didn't really hit their stride until the summer festivals like IOW and TITP. Which in my opinion is shown with AKA...WAL, Freaky Teeth, and IIHAG improving dramatically live.
HFB at the beginning of their tour were completely different band from the HFB toward the end of their.

I keep hearing this same statement over and over about the bands progression over the last 12 months. I got to see Noel 3 and a half times in 2011. I wish he played more NYC dates in mid to late 2012 so I could have personally experienced the improved play. Don't get me wrong, I had a blast when I was at the shows but it's always great to see improvement.

And there was definitely a stark difference between both shows. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the first Chicago show, but the band was much tighter in Hammond about eight months later.

Everybody's On The Run.
Brilliant tune to start a gig with, so no more It's Good To Be Free, Noel. (next tour anyway). You know you can do it, so do it then!
