DOYS's strong songs are so strong that they make up for its weak songs. which, compared to HC and DBTT, aren't that weak. y'all are crazy DOYS is still a stellar record Ah you see, it's the opposite for me.the weaker tracks on DOYS bring the album down ten fold and make the other tracks appear stronger. I have said it before and I will say it again, the only reason Bag It Up and The Turning are considered these brilliant tracks is due to the album they are on. Stick them on any other Oasis album and they'd be lost among other tracks that are equally as weak and poor as the other albums.

Radio X is doing the Best of British vote again. I think if quite a lot of us were to join together and all vote for just 1 oasis song the same (you get 3 votes) we can get something like All Around The World into the top 10. What do people think?

Like it should even be considered: All Around The World has balls! It's one of THE best Oasis songs whereas Go Let It Out is just ok

Dyer Know What I Mean? Hello The Hindu Times Turn Up The Sun Rock N Roll Star Bag It Up Fucking In The Bushes
The recorded version of RNRS I don't rate, the outro is too long and drawn out. I just find it quite boring to be honest

Won't happen.
Besides, asking for Oasis to reunite is also asking for Liam to accept that he'd have to leave the stage numerous times and, right now, can you imagine Liam being up for that?

Shouldn't have got Lyla on it. While the album cut isn't as good as the live versions (especially in person), it's still a quality track. And something from the later era needed to be represented there. I've always wondered what a fan vote version would have ended up like if they had let us choose instead

Got nothing to add except I've always thought it was ok, maybe should have replaced She Is Love on the album but other than that...I find it very ok

Looks like it's Live Forever then. Come that week we will all stream the hell out of it.
It will work won't it?
Maybe we need to get the Oasis Podcast involved also?

We should definitely do that. The question is which song? Supersonic would be good cos it's the first single. I was thinking that myself, definitely an iconic song at least...something like Wonderwall or Don't Look Back In Anger would be too obvious so I'd rule them straight out. For me, it would be 1 of: Supersonic Let's All Make Believe (maybe? Though that wouldn't be iconic enough) Live Forever Whatever Champagne Supernova

This day will mark 10 years since Oasis split up and a random thought has gone through my head..what if...what if every Oasis fan streamed the exact same Oasis song over the course of the week, thus creating a sudden surge in the streams for the song, could it be possible it could enter the top 10 (or possibly number 1?) As an anniversary sorta thing?

Were people actually surprised Oasis broke up in August 2009? I wasn’t. Long long long time coming. I remember, at first I was shocked but when everything settled down I realised it had been coming and how pissed off both of them were at the Heaton Park gig

I've said it before and I will say it again. People saying that The Masterplan should have been saved.. 1. If it had been the production would have gone from as neat and tidy as it is as the b-side to Wonderwall to being as, others always say about the album, overblown and with more guitar tracks added on top 2. What would you have had as b-side to Wonderwall to replace it as part of the reason Oasis singles sold so well was the b-sides in some respects...take The Masterplan off Wonderwall, would it have even got to number 2? 3. The Masterplan, either in the form it is in now or the eventual form it would have been in if it had been on Be Here Now (because there is no way it would be the same track) would fit into Be Here Now

I'm sorry but you're talking nonsense if you really believe the songs were not there...change the tracklisting a little and the final 5 tracks could and should have been epic: Gas Panic Where Did It All Go Wrong? I Can See A Liar Let's All Make Believe Roll It Over Add to the above a beginning 4 tracks of: Fuckin In The Bushes Go Let It Out Full On (Liam sung) Little James (yes, even this one) This album, worked a little better and waited a while longer, would have been such a great album. Added to that songs such as: Just Getting Older Its A Crime/Let There Be Love One Way Road Revolution Song Little By Little Force Of Nature I think the songs are most definitely there Remember I’m looking at this from first hand experience. Doing it in real time. You are now adding Noel sung b-sides. Classic Oasis had maybe 1 Noel sung song. Now 3-4? That’s too many for that era. Liam was still in his prime. He needs to shine more. They didn’t have a tailor made single ready to be an anthem. It just wasn’t there in 1999/2000. None of what you suggested matches the initial quality of the first 5 I named. Not sure the world was ready for sadder and downbeat Oasis. 1. I had 1 Noel sung song on that list, the others were just examples of songs that were around at the time. 2. I said for Full On to be Liam song so that's not a Noel sung song 3. Where Did It All Go Wrong was a ready made sing along single if handled right 4. Every band has to mature their sound otherwise people slate them for standing still. The landscape of the UK had changed massively by the time Standing got released so a more mature sounding album was the right kind at the right time. The biggest mistake was not carrying this on and going backwards with Heathen Chemistry

That is true. I even think Sunday Morning Call and Where Did it All Go Wrong? both had potential but didn't get treated properly, as you can see by the acoustic version of SMC and the demo version of the latter. Even Put Yer Money Where Yer Mouth Is tries to be different to some degree but just is under-cooked in its treatment, as you said. Full On was the song Noel should've pushed for Liam to sing, instead of that, and you can't forget Let's All Make Believe. With Full On, LAMB, the demo version of Where Did it All Go Wrong?, and a more acoustic SMC (or even One Way Road which is a similar song), you have a good nine tracks. The problem with the era is Noel, simple as that. Too bogged down from not sticking to a clear and focused direction, with the music echoing that. I think the exit of Bonehead and Guigs in the early stages of the album messed things up and Noel should've taken a break after that to assess the direction of the band and get new members. SOTSOG suffers from over production, to some degree, but oddly enough it also suffers from being under-developed in some places, as a result of them leaving which messed with the direction of the sessions and caused Noel to seek other means of filling the soundscape. Bottom line is Noel didn’t have the songs. Didn’t have enough material to round out a solid 10-11 track album that Noel boasted about for much of 1999. People always act like LAMB is the magic silver bullet. It’s not. It would help but even with its inclusion it still is lacking. I'm sorry but you're talking nonsense if you really believe the songs were not there...change the tracklisting a little and the final 5 tracks could and should have been epic: Gas Panic Where Did It All Go Wrong? Morning Glory the song is not as good as people make it out to be. Lyrics are repetitive and the music sounds so basic. It NEVER features on any playlists for that album I make Well... this is early era Oasis we are talking about here. I've always viewed Morning Glory as a natural progression of what was going on with Columbia, but you probably dislike that one as well. You'd be right. Don't get me wrong, live Columbia is great, on the album? Shouldn't have been there, 4 other tracks should be on Definitely Maybe over that

I'm glad it's not just me who thinks that about Soldier On, I really dislike it. Liam's songwriting at its worst. Lyrically I have never understood how people can even come close to enjoying this yet slate something like Little James which has more substance and meaning behind it

One of my favourite on Morning Glory. I do not get the hate at all, lyrics are beautiful and musically it's up there with some of Oasis' best songs for me. I ALWAYS go back to it
