Hi there, I have spent a lot of time reading these forums before creating an account and posting, and I cant help but notice that most of my opinions on oasis seem to go against the grain of popular consensus.
So I have created this thread to share unpopular oasis opinions. I apologise if this has been done before, I did try searchimg but I couldnt find anything similar.
So, here is,mine. Noel is a better singer than Liam, and Liam's post SOTSOG vocala have been awful.
HC is a really good album. Some of my favorite tunes off it are SIL, HIABP, SCYHO, AQP and The Cage. All are top oasis tunes.
I really like SMC
TNOR isnt that bad.
Undernieth the sky is a bit meh, as is listen up.
I doubt that a version of DLBIA with liam on vocals exists and if it does it will probably never be released.
One of the best songs on DBTT is ABWR. One of the worst is TUTS.
TMOS is the worst song oasis have ever recorded.

Surely the OP is trolling. Not trolling, just thought it was a good idea for discussion.

Oasis was not a great band 2000 to 2009.

Oasis was not a great band 2000 to 2009. Uninspired albums, greatest hits tours, and straining relationships heavily contributed to this.

My unpopular opinion:
I think Oasis should've split up after SOTSOG. Rather have then burn out than just drift into mediocrity for the next decade.

There was just another band with two of the original members (the most important ones, of course) who decided to keep the name.

You completely lost me with... Quick Peep, She Is Love and Hung In A Bad Place being top Oasis. But that's the point in the thread isn't it... and Listen Up is a bit meh?!?

Noel from -99 onwards is not my cup of tea. Okay he's still got funny interviews but overall he just seems a bit boring, d'you know I mean? He was as good as Liam in my papers before he quit drugs. Now I feel like it's just Liam anymore because Noel has changed A LOT. Well, maybe it's just that Noel has actually grown up while Liam is still himself, saying everything he thinks and ranting on Twitter while drunk

Oasis was not a great band 2000 to 2009. Everyone knows this, it's just some are in denial. Which leads us onto another unpopular opinion - their mediocrity in the 21st century makes a reunion utterly pointless. Pointless and boring, It's the equivalent of wanting a Keane reunion...

My unpopular opinion: I think Oasis should've split up after SOTSOG. Rather have then burn out than just drift into mediocrity for the next decade. Don't you mean after Morning Glory? The band had a missed opportunity after the Knebworth gigs. They should have drifted into the shadows after becoming the biggest band in the world, and let their legacy begin to properly grow. Kept a good 3-4 years away, let a type of Stone Roses style mystique grow, and then at the turn of the century, come back with a mix of old and new styles and that would've cemented them. Instead they took the route U2 did after The Joshua Tree and bought into their own hype. Be Here Now is a fun album but abit soulless compared to the first two. Of course the drugs played a big rule aside from the ego trip and hype. Missed opportunity to make better decisions than their predecessors. Instead, we got Heathen Chemistry 5 years after Be Here Now! Yikes!

Also, people should keep in mind that Be Here Now is seen as the dagger into the already bleeding heart that was Britpop. The death of Princess Diana, forward thinking releases such as Urban Hymns and OK Computer, and the combination of melachonly elements of the reality of the world itself spelled the end for Britpop. People were ready for deeper music at the time.

Don't really see many people describe them as a great band after 2000. They were still a good band though. I wouldn't have had them not make those records for the sake of better legacy if it meant not hearing the 10 or 15 songs I really love from that period. Add to the great gigs I went to and the great experiences I had.

It's just a shame they could never match their success and greatness (in terms of songs) of the 90s again. They still released some great stuff though. I think DOYS is their fourth best album, it's pretty solid (that's probably sort of an unpopular opinion amongst some).
