Interesting theory. SMC does indeed feel like a very odd release. I wonder what Liam's thoughts were at the time? Heathen Chemistry as Noels first solo album is also an interesting idea. I guess he didn't really have the songs for a whole album and that's why LAG started to contribute. Heathen Chemistry as Noel's first solo album, when you consider the songs he did have that wasn't on there (Idler's Dream, Just Getting Older, Shout It Out Loud) would have been such a melodic album from him. I think it is worth thinking about really

If the release of Sunday Morning Call saw it go number 1, along with the critics loving the song as well as the fans, does anyone else think it would have seen Oasis take a break at that point and Noel go solo? Something I have always wondered because that single has always felt like an odd Oasis release to me. The only Oasis single (till Falling Down) to not feature any Liam vocals on the entire release.
I wouldn't have been at all surprised if that was the plan altogether by Noel, release the song, get a hit then go solo for an album then come back with Oasis (which does mean that Heathen Chemistry could almost have been his solo album)

Was watching Frequency on Netflix and what song appeared in the very first episode? Wonderwall, almost the entire song as well, shocked me a lot to be honest

I like it, sounds good..if it could have been on DBTT, should it have been? Hmm, I agree that it wouldn't have fit but...why not HC? Definitely better than the Force of Nature and having it on the album about half way through would have been interesting I don't think I have even listened to the song since I written this. Until I do listen again, I may HAVE to revise this opinion

Make a 14 track all Liam written album, no jointly written (so no Love Like A Bomb or Wall Of Glass etc) what would you have on it? Covering all of his songs in Oasis, Beady Eye and solo.
1. Bring The Light 2. The World’s Not Set in Stone 3. Greedy Soul 4. The Meaning Of Soul 5. Songbird 6. Little James 7. For Anyone 8. Bold 9. I’m Outta Time 10. You Better Run 11. Start Anew 12. The Morning Son 13. Born On A Different Cloud 15. I’ve All I Need
Oasis - 5 Beady Eye - 6 Solo - 4

Because it isn't single worthy. It's decent enough but that's only because of what it's surrounded by. They chose the only 3 songs on the album that were single worthy on the album. Say what you want about tracklistings from Heathen onwards but at least they got the choice of single right for Heathen Chemistry, Don't Believe The Truth and Dig Out Your Soul

I've ALWAYS preferred Sunday Morning Call. As you say, the production on WPTWOTWOMS makes it so boring. Ok, it works on the film soundtrack but on it's own...I can't even remember the last time I listened to it

id rather he switched be here now and rock n roll star I am going to be experimenting with Be Here Now where that track will begin the album as, during the 97 tour, it sounded so good being the very first track. Don't understand why it's last, doesn't feel like a final song for gig to me

Definitely at the very end, to me it then says "thank you, I have been a rock n roll star tonight, lets go out with a bang!"
To be honest, I've never go into it being the first track

Was watching an old episode of The Bill on Drama over here in the UK on Sunday and in a scene outside of a pub, what should be playing but Oasis...not just any Oasis song but the Oasis cover of Cum On Feel The Noize..this episode was from 1999 which means that even 3 years on from the Oasis peak, the producers still decided to use an Oasis song..not just any Oasis song, but an Oasis cover that was a b-side. It was so good to hear that during the show

other sports that use it are filled with stoppages anyway, so its no matter if you gotta wait a couple of minutes for a decision. the clock dont stop in football, so depending on how it evolves, we could end up with 15 minute injury times. im also not convinced that it will actually get better/quicker. it all depends on which direction they take it... Yeah, it's Americanzing the sport in the sense that English Football will now be filled with all the stoppages that ruin American Football. And it really won't be long until advertisements get involved with VAR and we'll start having commercial breaks for every VAR decision. Soon there will be timeouts and shite like that. Remember, there's a cohort who have been pressing for both "Sin Bins" as well as an extra 39th game played in the US. All these "improvements" are destroying/will destroy the sport. Also, what the fuck was the point of changing the kick-off rule this season? It worked just fine tapping it to your teammate in the centre-circle. I don't get change for change's sake, either. Fucking hell.I must admit, I never even knew they changed that rule..I just thought it was strange that everyone was kicking off in the same way...what is the new rule?

I'm all for it personally and I think there are a few things people don't get about it. Its not going to eliminate all errors but should get rid of all the howlers and should reduce stuff like diving which in my opinion has ruined the game much more than VAR ever could. It needs work, they need to show the fans what the VAR is looking at and they need the refferee to give the VAR a soft signal for example, The ref say's 'I think this is a penalty, have you got any evidence to overturn it'. This stops the whole responsibility being with the VAR they don't have to decide whether it was or wasn't just if the refs call was reasonable. It will get better and quicker if they do it right. Its been great for other sports.other sports that use it are filled with stoppages anyway, so its no matter if you gotta wait a couple of minutes for a decision. the clock dont stop in football, so depending on how it evolves, we could end up with 15 minute injury times. im also not convinced that it will actually get better/quicker. it all depends on which direction they take it... Which brings Alan Pardew's point into question at weekend when he said that he had lost 2 players due to hamstring injures. Could the problem get worse?

Got up too early this morning so I ended up watching Sunday Suppliment on Youtube and all of them was so in unison about how it's going to save the game etc etc that it bored me. Sure it may help, in the future, problem is, why does the referee have to go and watch it on a separete screen even AFTER the help he's gotten from whoever it was telling him the decision. How hard is it? One person, upstairs somewhere watching it on a TV live, tells the ref straight away what the decision is. Done within about 30 seconds or so. Saturday was bloody rediculous!

I'm not sure about the origins of the tune, but if it was around during DOYS era, it'd lift the album a little bit higher, methinks. Take out Muffins, put in Boy With the Blues, remove The Nature of Reality, then place Four Letter Word as the opener (just since the transition between Bag it Up and The Turning is too good to ruin), and while we're at it, put the Come On Outside demo in where High Horse Lady went, and you have a pretty good Oasis album. This may well become a playlist on my Ipod very soon

First time listening to Four Letter Word. Will never understand why Beady Eye's first single wasn't that one. Reminds me a bit of Morning Glory. Will never understand why it was never used for Dig Out Your Soul and was a first single off that to be honest.

Strange Thing was unfairly on the Definitely Maybe remaster. If you're going have that, why not the other demos like See The Sun/Take Me/Colour My Life etc?

Just like that never ending story game but every sentence MUST have 1, just 1, Oasis related song title in it. This can be Oasis/High Flying Birds/ Beady Eye or Liam solo tracks.
I'll start it with: One day, I bumped into a Rock N Roll Star...
