It has that uplifting, euphoric chorus that Oasis love doing. It has a guitar solo - which is too short for my liking, mind. And it’s radio friendly....
The outro is abit naff though.

It would be played a grand total of three times, one of those being when an intern fucked up playing Wonderwall.

The best Oasis song during the 2000's, should have been the lead single off the album, feels like a song from the Be Here Now era... LOVE IT!

Great song but is it as good as 'The Shock of the Lightning'? Me thinks not. It could've been a good choice for a third single though.

Because it isn't single worthy. It's decent enough but that's only because of what it's surrounded by. They chose the only 3 songs on the album that were single worthy on the album. Say what you want about tracklistings from Heathen onwards but at least they got the choice of single right for Heathen Chemistry, Don't Believe The Truth and Dig Out Your Soul

I always assumed it was because they couldn’t play it live. If Bag It Up and The Turning had been workable on stage I bet TSOTL wouldn’t have been a single.

TSOTL is a quintessential Oasis single. Can’t really argue with the singles choices for DOYS, although I do think IOT was a bit weak. If Noel wrote IOT, it would have been a sweeping ballad like SCYHO.

They only released three singles off that record and they were all solid. The Turning is one of my favourite Oasis songs ever but the choices for the singles were also right. Had they done a fourth one, The Turning should have been released though.
