Too early to rate it, but it's got such a soulful feel while being very catchy
I'm happy with it

Pretty effortless by Noel; great mix of moodiness with a simple catchy melody. Not too plodding, and great bass motifs and vocals. A little overbearing with the choir. But definitely the type of stuff you feel like Noel writes in his sleep (and I don’t mean that in a bad way, far from it).

I like the verses more than the chorus, overall a decent pop tune, nothing groundbreaking. The Middle 8 is maybe a bit lazy.
More or less the same emotional reaction from me as when I've heard "Wandering Star" - nice addition to his catalogue, but doesn't make it anywhere near my Top 10 of his tracks.

Nice song. Noel could write these type of songs in his sleep. Effortless.

Best thing he’s done in a long time - 8. A greatest hits album feels a bit desperate though.

Well this is 100 % Andreas Johnson - Glorious. Unfortunately dissapointing because I wanted sth original after all this purple Patch Talk! Btw. I got a original started tonight 0:00 CET

Nice little tune. As others have said, you feel like Noel can toss songs like this off effortlessly while he's got one eye on Match Of The Day or whatever. I was enjoying the direction he was going but this feels more like "classic Noel", which is ok. It feels very familiar, which isn't a bad thing in my opinion.

It's a Best Of he said it clearly, no idea why they're selling it as a greatest hits It´s basically all his singles with two new songs. It should be described as a "greatest hits" or "singles compilation"· but never as a "Best of"

Well this is 100 % Andreas Johnson - Glorious. Unfortunately dissapointing because I wanted sth original after all this purple Patch Talk! Btw. I got a original started tonight 0:00 CET It's a bit of a loop, though ... Oasis influences Glorious and then Glorious influences Noel listening back to what he influenced ...

The chorus is stuck inside my head after 2 listens so I guess that's a good thing if you want a radio-hit.

I remember those times. The Germans were trying to musically copy everything that was popular in the US, and the Scandinavians were trying to make their versions of British music.

Too early to rate it, but it's got such a soulful feel while being very catchy I'm happy with it Quoting myself after a few listens, definitely digging it There's something I really like about the mood, I agree with all you've said about it being an effortless thing for Noel (kinda the point ain't it? He clearly said he didn't want to use new music for it) and very typical for him but there's just something somehow subtle about it, it's familiar and pop oriented but yet not completely in your face Think the female voices really add a lot despite not doing anything special Also, he still manages to write melodies that get stuck in my brain immediately like no one else does A solid 8/10, for now

Really nice song. I kind of wish Noel would sing with a bit more grit. Like when he sings "drag you... down"-it sounds a bit soft. Not sure how to describe it. The melody resembles If I had a Gun in places.

Love it, especially the Mellotron strings. A bit of Chasing Yesterday production-wise but I always thought that it is the best sounding NG album so not complaining. Not quite 10/10 because it falls just a bit flat in the chorus. But a very lovely listen.

See Noel's been thieving again - anyone else notice the strings are totally nicked from Andreas Johnson - Glorious?? 100% !!!!! Well, this string sound/progression on "Glorious" is hardly original. It's a rather generic, Bond-flavoured chord descension. Not that Noel nicked the whole beginning of "I'm the Walrus".

See Noel's been thieving again - anyone else notice the strings are totally nicked from Andreas Johnson - Glorious?? 100% !!!!! Yep, he’s definitely swiped that string part. Works well though and doesn’t detract too much from the song as a whole, although he didn’t need to be so obvious!

1. Unremarkable piece of music. It will please Noel's groupies and easy-listeners though. I got the impression this might be the first time Noel is trying to address someone's passing away in a song? Don't go away is about the anxiety of someone dying, but this is more about mourning someone, "you'd gone to meet your maker, good luck in the afterlife".
2. The art design is appalling, tiring (is this still Gareth Halliday work?). And it strongly supports the idea this song is about death/afterlife with that tunnel of light.
3. Is Noel trying to capitalize on the covid zeitgeist? We're gonna get there in the end totally made me think that. If so, cheesy...
