I have to agree with you to be honest...the demo is ok as an alternative but I'm glad that isn't how I'd like the final song to be Really unpopular among fans but: the album version of The Hindu Times is far better than the demo one.

The drum fill in DLBIA after the solo is just awful. I always loved Alan and his style, but that bit always felt rushed and sloppy.

i find it hard to listen to any song Noel sings, apart from Don’t Look Back In Anger. i don't think he is a bad singer per se, i just find the tone of his voice unbearable. i can't think of any worse musical experiences than hearing a full or gig of his. Even Liam at his very worst was better because his voice isn't grating.
i never got the whole thing about Live Forever being some great classic. it's a decent song but very cheesy.

Generally speaking, Oasis fans are knob heads. I'm talking about the Parka Monkeys, who are 50 years old who have Liam's hair style and wear a parka in the summer. Those vaginas need to fuck the fuck off

Those vaginas need to fuck the fuck off I would generally agree with this and one of the reasons I never went to see Oasis live. Loud, obnoxious piss heads who only want to sing along to the 'classics'. Mention 'Gas Panic' or 'Born On A Different Cloud' to someone who claims they are an Oasis fan, and most likely they will reply 'Nah, never heard of that one mate, I like Wonderwall though, fookin tune'.

I like the HC cover and also the "Heathen Chemistry" album title.

My Big Mouth is unlistenable. Maybe a few keys lower and without it being covered in guitar tracks it would be tolerable (kind of like how they played it live in 2009, that I liked), but as it is it's an instant skip for me. I really don't understand the appeal. If it's for the swagger, the attitude, or whatever, may I remind you that D'You Know What I Mean? comes just before on the tracklist and does a far better job at that. Shit's making my ears bleed, and not in the D'You Know What I Mean?-fuck-yeah kind of way. Absolutely love the clusterfuck nature of MBM. 💛

Round Are Way is one of their less good tracks of the 90's (in the "worst" 5).

Absolutely love the clusterfuck nature of MBM. 💛 To each their own, man. I think it could be a decent song but its potential is destroyed by the production and length. Typical Be Here Now! Don't get me wrong I can see why someone wouldn't like it lol. There's so much going on in the song, I think when it comes to BHN and the overuse of guitars MBM is the perfect example.

Be Here Now should have always been denser than Morning Glory, but songs like My Big Mouth would definitely be more enjoyable if all the hissing and feedback were taken out to make the fewer guitar dubs left clearer. The rhythm, riff, and vocals would all be clearer and more impactful that way; it shouldn't sound like Imagine Dragons or anything, but making the album let's say 40% denser than Morning Glory rather than the 2000% we got would have been a big improvement.

Definitely needs to have the bass line brought out more. This song has a nice groove to it, but it's buried too deep.

Different Gear Still Speeding works far better as an album than Morning Glory. Don’t understand this - do you mean in terms of flow/coherency and tracklisting? I mean.... yeah, but only in a way that Morning Glory is a pile of scattered diamonds all sorts of different colours and DGSS is a sleek unbroken turd glued together from last nights deep fried fast food.

I never understood the theory that Morning Glory doesn't work well as album. Everything flows perfectly, I'd even argue it could be the Oasis record that works the best as an album, even more than Definitely Maybe and Be Here Now.

My Big Mouth is great the way it is, guess it's their heaviest song.
Agree about the bass, but also you can say this for every BHN song.

You never feel like it's dragging, because the mood changes enough times, and never too soon to make the album feel slightly disjointed. After Hey Now and Some Might Say you want something softer and you get Cast No Shadow, and then after She's Electric you want things to get rocking again and you get Morning Glory. To sum it up, this album flows like a fucking river.

IMO, Morning Glory is their best album from Bonehead/Guigs era. Every single song (including B-sides) is a belter. 👍

I mean i get the story that everybody was on coke during the recording of Be Here Now etc. but if you think about it, all the rocky distorted songs since DM to BHN included like Rock N Roll Star, Bring it On Down, Digsy's Dinner, Morning Glory, Some Might Say, Hey Now, etc. sound very trashy and sonically overkilled, even the remaster didn't help that much. I remember Noel saying once that when they recorded Morning Glory it sounded sonically perfect, but nowadays it's unlistenable, but the thing that does my head in is that those records aren't that old to age that badly in terms of sound. I mean Nevermind was done in 1991 and it sounds way better than Morning Glory or Definitely Maybe, in fact most of the records from the 90's sound sonically better than Oasis records. I wonder if Oasis always suffered from a lack of good producer or they couldn't transform the real sound of the band to the record any better than that ? Or did that sounded really kickass and loud in those days and then something happened to it ? Was that on purpose ? Was that Noel ? Was that not giving a fuck ? What was that ?

I'll criticise a lot of Oasis production but even at their worst on DM/MG, the songs were clearer than My Big Mouth. Take Bring it on Down, maybe the best production on an Oasis rock song for me - the drums are pounding, the bass is clear and thick, and it doesn't lose any of it's riotous nature in the process. If only songs like My Big Mouth and It's Gettin' Better (Man!!) had that same mix of clarity and passion.
