Stand By Me ( despite being 2 minutes too long ) was the last great Oasis song

Dig Out Your Soul is my third favorite Oasis album. I love how dark it is, and I enjoy it much more than Be Here Now. Be Here Now gives me such a headache and the songs just aren’t there for me. While I enjoy BHN more than you do, I'm happy to see DOYS get some appreciation. It has is flaws, as 90% of albums do but it's a great record still. To me, DOYS sounds like it could be the natural successor to SOTSOG, the album Oasis made instead of HC. In this parallel universe, they'd have followed that with DBTT, the stripped down summery record, then finished with the crowd pleasing HC, aiming for a U2-like "return to (anthemic) form". HC always gives me All That You Can't Leave Behind vibes.

You're all small time. Here's a REAL unpopular Oasis opinion:
The Quiet Ones is the best B-side of the 2002-2009 era and also one of the best songs of that era full stop. Why? Because Gem wrote it about George Harrison the day he died!
So let's heeeeeeeear it

Because Gem wrote it about George Harrison the day he died! So let's heeeeeeeear itLet's be honest, most of us probably haven't even heard more than a handful of the b-sides by bands we like. The issue here is that Oasis set a different standard. I've got no issue with The Quiet Ones. As a b-side, it's fine. But in 1995 it would've been one of three on a single, one of maybe ten for the album. We'd accept it as a throwaway thing. But when there's only a few songs outside of the album, then you want each of them to be worth something. I don't want to turn my post into another Noel hate thing, but if you look back at it, the only song Noel contributed outside of the actual albums for DBTT and DOYS was Sitting Here In Silence (On My Own), which is barely a realised song. I suspect he was stockpiling by then and no longer interested in giving Oasis, and us as fans by extension, anything more than he really had to.

- It’s impossible to listen to BHN as a whole
- The first NGHFB Album would be the third best oasis album
- Never really liked whitey
- Liam’s Twitter might be most cringeworthy thing going

I don't like the Ryan Adams version of Wonderwall that Noel performs now. The original - by Noel - is better. I prefer some of the early demos of Liam singing to the final album version. Yes, the demos would lack the "power" and sound the band was looking for - but Liam had much more inflection/emotion/feeling in his singing. (ex Live Forever MTV 1994). The final album versions lacking the emotions that Liam could evoke. This is (maybe) not unpopular - but I don't see it very often...... CAST NO SHADOW is the best song that Oasis ever had. LISTEN UP a close second. (I prefer Liams' to Noels', but enjoy both). I think Holy Mountain is a good song. I think that Freaky Teeth is better than Wonderwall (but I do like Wonderwall). I usually hate any group/singer covering the Beatles - but I LOVE Across the Universe by BE (Liam) better than the John Lennon-Let it Be original. Also, Noel did a great cover of All you need is love - just as good as the original. Idlers dream is severely underrated! Excellent song. I love the more romantic Noely G songs. If I had a gun is beautiful - the best NGHFB song (and to me there is stiff competition there) and one of the best Noel penned songs ever. Both of these are better than Slide Away. I like WBTM and AYW equally - I listen to the songs from each - depending on my mood. Sad song is one of the best Oasis songs - underrated. I'd like an Oasis reunion of some kind. Maybe not a new album....as long as Bonehead is involved. Have to have Noel/Liam, Bonehead and Gem......as for the drummer, I can't be bothered to pick one. I think that Liam and Noel will make up one day and be close to each other again. (this is probably just wishful thinking). Liam was/is gorgeous....but Noel has always been a little hottie. (I like big, bony noses and thick eyebrows - call me a weirdo.)

A hot take is just a controversial one...I can't say I agree with Freaky Teeth vs Wonderwall, but I've gotta respect such a bold opinion. I can't remember when I last listened to the former in all honesty, might go back to it in a minute.

BE not Oasis but - Beady Eye's chorus on Across The Universe absolutely nails it. The way John would have wanted theirs to sound until Macca sabotaged it.

Never liked Liam's attempts at Lennon-esque vocals on that tour. Sounded far too nasally for my tastes. Their cover of My Sweet Lord was great though.

Agreed he should just be singing like himself but i just think they nailed the arrangement on it. The original was never quite right, which can be a good thing too. I think its a song someone can come along and do a really great version off, wasnt too keen on the most recent one. (Cant remember the blokes name)

Really unpopular among fans but: the album version of The Hindu Times is far better than the demo one.
