Liam Gallagher is a great songwriter but Andy and Gem are shite. Can't name a great song by either. Loads of songs on Don't Believe The Truth sound like Love Like A Bomb which is shit. Every good song on DBTT has a counterpart 2X better than it on DOYS other than Part of the Queue.

Be Here Now is the only Oasis song without a single bad song. In fact, it's the only album where all the songs are bloody amazing! Wait... hang on a minute... you think there are bad songs on DM, MG or even TM ?

Andy and Gem are shite. Can't name a great song by either. Vapour Trail, Dreams Burn Down, Leave Them All Behind, Kaleidoscope, etc Ok, not Oasis, but Andy had, once,a lot of talent at songwriting.

Wait... hang on a minute... you think there are bad songs on DM, MG or even TM ? Well there isn't a bad song on those 3 but there is definitely at least one that isn't as good as the rest. Overall they are better than BHN but BHN is more consistent. You could argue Magic Pie is worse than the others, or Fade In/Out.

But yes, all three of those have bad songs. While BHN has absolutely none that isn't brilliant.

If we're speaking in Oasis only terms, Liam had Songbird, I'm Outta Time, Born On A Different Cloud which are all great From Andy and Gem? I don't like Turn up the Sun or A Bell Will Ring at all, To Be Where there's life and The Nature of Reality are contenders for worst Oasis song. A Quick Peep is just an Average instrumental. Hung in a bad place is all right, but it sounds like a worse version of I can see a liar.

Shakermaker is SCANDALOUSLY underrated on here. True I always think it's absolutely crap...but really it's just not very good...certainly doesn't age well IMO

How it ever got a single release when songs like Bring It On Down, Slide Away and even Up In The Sky would have been better choices is beyond me

Great verses tbf.
Let down a bit by the chorus and length.
Still a tune though.

The only good thing that came out of Shakermaker being released as a single is that it gave them a bit of a boost in popularity since the song nicked such a popular song like I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing in its vocal melody. Other than that, it was a meh choice and Bring it on Down or Up in the Sky would've been better to carry the melodic punk spirit of Supersonic before the knockout punch in the form of Live Forever.

I think Gas Panic is better than Champagne Supernova.
Not trying to be ironic or hip, I genuinely think it's right up there as one of the best things they've ever done - like top 10 status possibly.

I like Shakermaker. I don't mind Slide Away not being a single. It's kind of more special that way, a treasure for the fanbase.

I really like Shakermaker, its different nature gives some varity to the album.
That lazy in the sun feelings of the lyrics, the slow and infectious guitar solo, the nonchalant Liam vocals, and of course the chorus, the redemption, the moment where the song totally wins you.
