I just heard the Be Careful What You Wish For clip and I can totally hear Dr. John in it, not really Come Together as the reviews mentioned (but, to be fair, Come Together was inspired by Dr. John). Very nice sounding.

And 24 more hours till the 22nd. Isn't it released on Wednesday?
Adverts from Japan are advertising November 21st.
Cool! It's a pity the Japanese version hasn't traditionally leaked before the worldwide release. Hopefully it will be different this time.

This is a very lame leak. We're just working with the timezones in which the album is first released. Having Heathen Chemistry 3 months before release- that's a leak! NG is straight playing our ass. Yeah, you can't really call it a leak anymore when someone is just uploading a rip of the retail CD. NGHFB never leaked either.

So it leaked.. what does everyone think? Funny how the first batch of songs we got actually weren't the best on the album and I love how the end blends straight back into Fort Knox!

Unrelated news but Noel also did an interview for Gemany's biggest music magazine "Musikexpress". No revelations, so no need to translate but he did offer a few tidbits for the nerds: In hindsight he would have titled Chasing Yesterday " Any Road Will Get Us There If We Don't Know Where We're Going" and he didn't seem to be joking. Early working title for Be Careful What You Wish For was " A Word To The Wise" and Keep On Reaching was originally called " Can You Keep A Secret?". I take that Noel is a George Harrison fan...

Liam is definitely winning the hearts and minds of the Oasis fanbase, as well as a whole new generation of kids - something I didn't think would ever happen a couple of years ago. Noel on the other hand appears to be going through some kind of personal journey (mid life crisis), in which the fanbase appears not to be of huge importance to him anymore. Maybe he is expecting to win over a whole new fanbase with this album, and doesn't want the diehard, hardcore Oasis fans following him anymore. He has said he isn't interested in large stadium venues anymore, which would typically attract the so-called `parka monkeys'. Maybe he wants the more middle class and upper class sophisticated types turning up for his gigs now, in a more civilised manner, at much smaller, intimate venues. I agree. We are watching a mid-life meltdown If it takes a mid-life crisis for Noel to release something as good as Holy Mountain, then bring it on.

As poor as some of Noel’s songs got, more so in that they sounded so half arsed, he never wrote anything as syrupy sweet and maudlin as For What Its Worth. I really like Liam’s album but its the poorest on the album. Something that belongs with Beady Eye. Even Keane would go ‘but much that no?’. Reminds me of the overblown melodramatic song that Father Dick Byrne performs on the Eurovision episode of Father Ted. Noel has always been on the right side of sentimentality. Never gone overboard, he’s always had a knack of just getting it right. to be fair, If I Had a Gun is pretty syrupy sweet and maudlin FWIW is not the weakeast one for me, I skip Chinatown every time as for It's a Beautiful World... I'd give it a 5/10. the the effects on the chorus kinda suck Chinatown is the best track on Liam's album.

Two more Czech lagers, a Ballentine's and a Mai Thai... whats the czech lager? kozel? pilsner urquell? staropramen? It's called "Bohemian IPA'ish". Blasphemy, I know. My mate bought it in Copenhagen. I've been discussing 19th century Russian ballet for the last 1/2 hour. That's how fucking drunk I am.

Tonight I'm going to a party in which I'll no doubt punish my liver, and I'm expecting a freshly baked leak in my inbox when I come back home, cos I'm a very entitled person. Merci. Did this happen with CY as well. You went out late. Got wasted and BAM! CY Leak. That's exactly what happened. Listening to a new NG leak after many a pint is a glorious thing. One day when I'm not too lazy I'll dig out my posts from that night, I'm sure they were a bit over the top.

It sounds like AA thought Noel had already arrived at point B by himself, while Holmes sounds like he understood that Noel was at point A, and wanted to get to B, so Holmes provided the guidance the AA say Noel was angry at not getting. AA treated him like a peer who was in the same headspace, Holmes knew he needed to ease him into it. I think personality is a big part of it. Holmes seems to be a more down to earth character on a similar wavelength to Noel. I love Gaz, but I can just imagine Noel's face while he'd be ranting about using African nose flutes and a badger bone trombone to take a track to the next cosmic level, man. X This is the same guy who talked about wanting to take Noel to India to enlighten him. Imagine how that would have gone down. It would have been like an episode of An Idiot Abroad. (For the record, I think Gaz believes in a lot of bullshit).

You would think it's a positive thing when someone becomes less of an idiot with age, right? I never understood this "man, you've changed" attitude. As if that was bad... True but that normally happens between your youth and middle aged right? Not 40's to 50's. Honestly I think NG says whatever suits his agenda at the time. His media image is just that, a front, an image of how he is trying to portray himself to people. For this album cycle he is positioning himself against LG, so giving statements of what he thinks are the reverse view point of LG's. Contradicting what he has said previously. It just seems at this moment in time it isn't appealing to me, I prefer my rockstars to be true to themselves. I'm sure NG ain't too bothered about my views. 'You've got to be yourself, you can't be no-one else' Noel said a lot of bullshit in the past decade. He was in it for the money and lacking inspiration, and adapted his statements in interviews to what he perceived his bandmates and fans would appreciate. The sad thing is some fans seem to miss that guy. I would say solo Noel has a lot more in common with 90s Noel than the cynical captain of Oasis MkII.
