Having flashbacks to the CY leak. Staying up all night while people stalked those random Brazilians on Twitter. Being apsolutely shattered the next day when I was supposed to be meeting a friend to help organise his stag do :-) X It's a good night to hit those bars you seem to frequent

Seeing that video, and how Noel has already previously said it was a sarcastic take on humanity, surely, surely, this was a song that needed brackets and a question mark haha. Like... (It's A) Beautiful World? Not that it matters at all really AKA...It's a Beautiful World
Oh FFS

I hope it's like two years ago with CY and it leaks minutes after I've come home gloriously drunk. Those were the days.

I love the beginning of the track. You can tell Noel was just noodling on the guitar and Holmes caught that tiny bit and looped it. It's like something Teo Macero would have done with Miles in the 70s.

Download available now from the official store. No physical release though? Shame not to get a b-side, even if only a remix. We know several remixes have been done. X
Who knows, we might get 12'' with a couple of remixes in the near future.

The only thing that worries me is that Noel mentioned having played Dead in the Water while people were moving microphones around, and there's some percussive sounds while he is talking over the clip, so I hope there are no extraneous noises over the performance. Hopefully he was just banging on the table while talking or something.

It seems like Dead in the Water might capture the intimacy of the IIHAG soundcheck. It's almost like he's redeeming himself for the plodding studio version of that tune. But maybe I should wait to hear the full track and not talk too soon.

That clip of Dead in the Water sounds like something out of Springsteen's Nebraska.

I give it half an hour until someone records an acoustic cover of that clip and posts it on YouTube.

I'm all for the new Noel stuff, but fuck, Dead in the Water sounds like it could be one of his acoustic classics.

People are saying that it sounds like it's missing something, but that's what I like the most about the track, that kind of restraint. Especially after a larger than life track like Holy Mountain.
It's like Supersonic being almost too slow, but that's make it more rewarding with repeated listens.

Love the track. Very restrained, with great production. And that bass!

If this is indeed the great song he's hyped, then it would be idiotic not to record a studio version of it. I remain skeptical.
The IIHAG demo is better than the studio version. And it was the Italian journalist who started hyping the song.
