Funny you mention that considering they're playing the Slide Away outro from that same tour.
The 'Noel' bits they're taking seem to be all over the place. Seems like the SMS and Supersonic stuff was only just learned.

^ Yeah, BHN and Slide Away are on par, more or less.

They sound fucking great now. What's more is they've always been consistent on Liam's solo material.

be here now with the horns. Like I said earlier. those songs add some southern rock-soul sound to it, GREAT makes me fucking wish Oasis played this in 02. Could you imagine them busting this out with the horns in Finsbury Park with some dirty guitar solos from Noel at the end? AHHHHH.

He has a much better tone, I agree, but he's not hitting the high notes at all He has lost part of his vocal range. That's a fact. You can't expect him to sound like 1994-2000. He sounds way better than 2002-2009 though. He's regained plenty, would say he's probably operating at 1998-2002 levels right now.

Nah this was the right choice. Come Back to Me sounded like it needed more work.

well now we know for sure he probably wouldn't be able to do listen up, hey? Why not? Sounded decent on Rockin Chair with a tired voice? yeah he could probably do Rockin Chair if he was well rested but isn't the prechorus on Listen Up a little higher than the chorus in Rockin Chair? He could never really do it in his prime and I don't expect him to do it now.

yeah, '95. they've only done it twice. liam's doing a solid job on this. wish they lowered the key though ! Which gigs did they do it at? Was Blackpool one? Bournemouth and Blackpool. Noel playing it in 2010 is the only other known instance.

Was 1995 the last time Liam sang Rockin' Chair live or were there performances after that? I know Noel's done it. yeah, '95. they've only done it twice. liam's doing a solid job on this. wish they lowered the key though !

That version of Wonderwall is fantastic. I'd be interested to know how much studio "magic" has gone on with Liam's vocal though. I mean, if a producer can make Ian Brown sound like a good singer... The versions of wonderwall on the stern show/bbc radio 2 breakfast show are really good...same on tour ,not many "magic" for sure There's slight tuning on Bold....it pretty much sounds like a polished version of his live vocals. I kinda think his vocals get processed now to eliminate most of the rasp and some of the nasalness too.

this is wild. Finsbury?! I'll really be arsed if he manages to sell it out.
Liam's recent surge in popularity is definitely due to all the right things he did but it has to be Oasis nostalgia too setting the stage, right? The documentary doing well enough and Be Here Now finally getting re-released? This is just way too big a jump to fathom.

Styles had one really big single and that's it. Pretty sure a lot of people don't even know he had full album coming out he's also the only person in one direction who's not really sticking to popular conventions - dude essentially put out a classic rock album backed with a 5 minute long single.

There are 3 other interest things to wonder about Oasis and the HOF: 1 - Who would be the nominated Oasis members? Liam and Noel obviously, and it's 99% likely that Bonehead, Guigsy, Gem and Andy would be nominated as well. It gets trickier when we look at the drummers, though. I think Alan would be in due to his long tenure as the Oasis drummer and the fact that he was with Oasis at their highest point. Tony is a coin toss for me, he was a founding member and the drummer of DM, but his tenure was so short and unimpressive that he could be kept out of the HOF after all. Zak and Chris would be unlikely to get in, as their time with Oasis was too short and they were never official members to begin with. 2 - Who would induct Oasis at the ceremony? It would have to be someone palatable to Liam and Noel, of course, specially if they have reformed by them, as both of them would be on the ceremony. They could go with a relevant British act that is already in the HOF and was influential on the making of Oasis. In this scenario, I think The Who (Roger and Pete, to be more specific) would be the most likely possibility, although they could also go with the Stones or maybe even Paul McCartney. They could also go with a name not yet on the HOF but likely to get in someday, but I don't think it would be easy to find such a name that would mash well with Oasis, making the 1st possibility the most likely one. 3 - Would Oasis be present at the ceremony? If they reform before induction of course they'll be there (Noel wouldn't refuse free press in the USA and Liam wouldn't refuse a nice party). If they don't, then, I'm quite sure Liam (as usual) will be the one enjoying some free drinks in Cleveland. RRHOF gets super weird with drummers. I'd wager the WTSMG lineup gets inducted, with a small chance Tony also gets recognized. Then maybe MK2. They'd also likely pick a younger/popular British musician to speak on their influence as a band. Alex Turner maybe?

makes sense. noel really seems to like using female vocals as a foil lately. i wonder if she'd end up doing most of the backing vocals russ currently does?

Where else do we think he can go? Is this safe to say his peak? I'm really starting to think 100k could happen...

Has anyone who's given grief about the Pitchfork review actually read it? Nothing Laura wrote is really that outrageous to consider - in fact, most of her criticisms can be found right in the 'Things Not Great About As You Were' thread. Some of it is stuff people have been saying since before the album dropped.
I think the score could be a tad higher but the review itself is absolutely fine.

i'm actually expecting 60k in pure sales and an additional 15-30k in streams minimum.
This is the first Gallagher release to benefit from streaming's impact on the charts and Liam's entire comeback had a viral impact not many likely expected or anticipated.
100k is a tall order but definitely not impossible.

Fade samples a Chicago house classic, Mystery of Love by Mr Fingers. Given Noel's inclinations for old school electronica, this is totally believable.

question - does anyone know if Bonehead actually played on the album? I'm starting to see other reviews corroborate it and it's getting annoying.
