Gonna be weird and say The Masterplan - the Liam songs on here absolutely annihilate and more than make up for how many Noel-sung songs are on here. There's Listen Up of course but also songs like Underneath the Sky where we got a different idea of what Liam could have done vocally. Dig Out Your Soul - Sardy hella processed the vocals on this album but it was worth it. Sometimes I'll listen to the isolated vocals and wonder just what he did to make them sound like they were recorded in the year 2000. SOTSOG - Really wish they did Roll It Over live (((

is this the first pro shot version of Supersonic on this tour? it sounds good!
seems like Liam was surprised by the reaction for this song for a sec.

Noel finally playing TIOBI with an acoustic reminds me of how Oasis took fucking forever until the DOYS tour to play Wonderwall properly.

wouldn't be surprised if they try and get Kurstin to work on all of LP2 since it was his songs that had the bigger impact. Happy for them to work on the singles, writing the balance of the album would be a mistake. Liam has shown he can write a few good tunes, I'd like to hear them. I didn't realize you were referring to songwriting! I agree, I'd definitely want to hear more Liam penned tunes or see him take on a bigger role in songwriting but Kurstin's production I think was really solid.

Glad to hear that Liam's recording session in April is with Greg Kurstin. I like the meaty sound of all the As You Were tunes he played on and produced. It even works on Paper Crown, I think. Stops it from turning into Lennon's Oh My Love, which I think is Liam's natural instinct when it comes to ballads. wouldn't be surprised if they try and get Kurstin to work on all of LP2 since it was his songs that had the bigger impact.

It's borderline hypocritical considering Noel practically encouraged Liam to link up with songwriters and even offered (jokingly) he'd write a song for him if he asked.
Not to mention all of his criticisms of Beady Eye boiled down to 'they need a hit.' Liam went and got some. What's going on, Noel?

so i noticed liam wasn't on the coachella lineup. anyone think he's gonna get added as a late addition? otherwise an April US tour may be unlikely...

nah i think people were confusing i've all i need for that song. Seems strange that even back then that people knew the name of the song...when nobody outside the management would have? I think it was named in a few interviews before the tracklist came out since it was a Greg Kurstin song. Edit: Found the NME article. Between that and the Pitchfork news article announcing AYW, I get the impression Doesn't Have To Be That Way was listed in the press release alongside the rest of the songs Kurstin worked on before the tracklist was finalized.

In any rate, it sounds like Liam's cool with Whitey considering he was willing to shout him out at the Brits in 2010.

i'm really curious as to how much the overall operation is costing him. even with warners bros fronting a lot of money for marketing, this is probably the smallest crew Liam has ever worked with.

DLBIA is a step higher on the recordings and tbqf, his new rendition is a lot better than the acoustic versions he peddled in the 90s. It is bullshit considering he barely, if ever, plays songs that Liam sang on and the ones he did, with few exceptions, were usually left in the original key. ban that person! best versions of DLBIA according to me 1. original 2. live electric 3. acoustic in different key 4. acoustic in original key TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT I DARE SAY

Brilliant segment. Noel was born for shit like this. I do, however, need to call bullshit on the key change comment. Doesn’t he change the key to DLBIA nowadays, despite it always being a song he sang lead on? And if key changes were commonplace, why weren’t Acquiesce and Force of Nature, for example, lowered so Liam could sing them? The excuse given for Noel singing them has always been that Liam couldn’t reach the high notes. DLBIA is a step higher on the recordings and tbqf, his new rendition is a lot better than the acoustic versions he peddled in the 90s. It is bullshit considering he barely, if ever, plays songs that Liam sang on and the ones he did, with few exceptions, were usually left in the original key.

It really sucks that he canceled those last few shows. Outside of those affected dates, he held his voice together pretty well from start to finish. Now comes the real test...

wouldn't that suck (or be expected) if he canceled Finsbury at the last minute? he's rarely, if ever, cancelled UK gigs right? he'll power through that one, most likely.

If auto tune was used it sounds like it was only on Wall of Glass and Greedy Soul; f they did they should have used more on FWIW. After going to one of his concerts and hearing him here it's not dissimilar at all, from what I remember. That's likely why Rockin Chair was cut - Liam was still missing the notes.

Out of curiosity, is it possible to estimate how much money Liam invested on PG in the beginning and how much the value of his shares increased over the years? IIRC they didn't make a profit until 2014 or so.

I was just gonna ask is Liam still with Pretty Green? I hardly hear him mention it or where it anymore. He hawked it pretty hardcore 2009 to 2013. Think its more a case of him going through a phase of thinking its cool not to wear his own brand rather than there being anything behind it. Even though almost all of the pretty green jackets are nicer than that stone island one. He also said recently he feels Pretty Green is established enough to sell itself now. Which makes sense!

I think it was mentioned during the One Love fiasco that Liam gets performer royalties as a member of Oasis on DLBIA - no clue if he'd make any more than the rest of the band sans Noel.
Also wasn't Noise and Confusion LLP the company created specifically for touring Oasis?

Lowered the key by a half-step on Rockin Chair, it seems. Sounding much better.
