JESUS CHRIST ITS ALMOST SOLD OUT COMPLETLY! whos the lucky rich fella who just bought a mellotron for 10,000$ ? and to a more interesting question - in which recording Noel used EMS SYNTH A? SOTSOG sessions? SOTSOG, yeah. Don't think he used it on the finished product but the demos? Also the initial posts really undersold how much stuff he had....some of his early 90s live rigs were up for grabs... he even managed to sell a Fender Rumble 15 for way more than its worth. Cheeky lad!

so that's why Liam made up with Chris - no point in slagging off Coldplay if you're gonna use one of their songs on your new album hey?

I know its not really a big issue but hes bigger than alot of them names above him, especially in Argentina. What are the chances his low billing is a direct result of cutting his Chicago set short? Higher ups may not have been stoked on that.

DGSS pulled about 66,817 in its first week - an equivalent of a #1 today. Would expect Liam to end up in that number range minimum or get closer to the 150k range as he's done monster promo and the singles have some healthy streaming numbers.
Just for comparison, DOYS got over 200k in its first week....

Who wrote Greedy Soul then? These type of tunes usually fall flat with Liam as of late (mainly because they were crap written by Gem and Andy), but this time it's good. Liam did. props to liam for finally figuring out how to write a proper pre-chorus and chorus because this one GOES

He's not selling anything really that essential, except maybe the Orange amp.

I think he is only going to get better for the next 4 or 5 years. Like said above, his range and control is back. He could really do with some advice on how to use it better if he can really swallow his pride like he refers to in FWIW He's 45. Even if he can dramatically improve, he's still fighting the decline most middle-aged singers have with their vocals.

if the so-called rehearsal setlist was true, this might be the first outing of some new songs.

If that album's that good, Liam is gonna be so pissssed As much as Noel when Liam´s album goes to number 1? He'll be pissed until the Oasis back catalog surges in sales because of these new albums and his bank account responds accordingly

it's Taylor Swift. She's definitely getting a #1 for at least a few weeks but if Noel plays his cards right, he might be able to snatch a #1 or at least get a #2.
Also, that album title is AMAZING but I'm not looking forward to everyone acronymizing it...

Based on what we've already heard and the fact they had a positive write-up for WOG...high 6.4, low 5.3

Too arty for oasis, I think. I prefer the one they used, with that great shot of Liam swaggering down one of the streets of the model village. funny you say that as i think the DOYS era had some of their absolute best music videos. TSOTL had a crazy collage style and even FD was really neat.

did liam ever sing falsetto post 95 on Oasis recordings? I feel like the obvious answer is no but the few times on Beady Eye and solo records have surprised me.

i think another reason DBTT has aged badly is because it served as a blueprint for everyone once Oasis broke up.
DGSS and NGHFB both take a LOT of stylistic cues from DBTT - doesn't help that both albums use leftovers from that era too. I think overexposure to that sound really turned people off from listening to the original and it doesn't help Sardy's retro production aged it fast.

drew's great. the key to make his backing vocals work is to keep his volume low so you don't actually hear his voice stand out and it works.

i think champagne supernova is a bit suspect but otherwise okay.
i kinda wish he'd do Rock n Roll Star like the version he did back in 2000. that was mint.

I will be very interested to see how much this album sells compare to Noels. Liam seems to be riding some momentum at the moment and has put his name back out there big time. The most popular he's been since Oasis. I think it will sell more than Noels. I really doubt he could do that - Noel's proved with the last two albums he's all about the long term game and it's tough to see now if Liam can appeal to enough to get that. First week sales on the other hand is Liam's game to lose. I imagine the fact both are promoting albums in the same year is presenting challenges for Noel; he likely would have started promoting about now.

I watching the Air Studios video and realised the other guitarist (forgot his name) is using Telecaster with single coils. I don't remember which guitars he used in live shows but if he used single-coil guitars that could explain why the sound is "thin" and like many people have said. Oasis relied heavily on humbuckers and they're definitely louder. Oh and wikipedia says Bonehead played guitar on Bold and bass on Paper Crown, is this true? Pretty sure that's a windup as there isn't any recording details anywhere... As for the guitarist (think it's Mike), he mostly uses semi-hollows like Noel did actually. Jay on the other hand is really trying to play up the Noel-lookalike thing, dude's playing a Gibson acoustic!

I'm just surprised at how bad Jay is. He didn't seem this bad in Kasabian or even when playing bass in Beady Eye. Makes me wish Liam got Jeff instead...he's not playing in Gorillaz right now either?

Debunking the myth he wants to forget anything Beady Eye. Its funny because id love him to play Soul Love but thats pribably because of the novelty of it. Bit like how the be here now songs have become boring. could we even trust the band to play soul love correctly? hehe
