To perform Noel written songs at his gigs?
Was at the Nottingham gig on Sunday (brilliant by the way) and thought that he could have put a couple more of his own Oasis songs in (Songbird, I'm Outta Time) and took a couple of Noel's out. Or is it financially not that expensive him doing what he's doing?

Answer: it depends on who you are covering and who this artist is licensed to. but probably a few pounds / song, if not less... www.legalzoom.com/articles/royalties-for-cover-songsSo even if you are a one hit wonder, you can probably spend the rest of your life doing nothing, only radio plays and cover at gigs is enough.

Are they really covers though? He is credited on the original recordings.

Nothing. Venues pay into the licensing agencies (ie ASCAP, BMI). When songs are played they fall under the general license (though they are recorded to note allocations). Even if a band wrote the songs, they fill out the sheet and eventually get a few pennies for it (it isn’t a lot). www.ascap.com/music-creators/ascap-onstage

I think the story where Liam is filling some papers after each gig to pay Noel royalties for singing his songs is just one of Noel's stories.

i'm really curious as to how much the overall operation is costing him. even with warners bros fronting a lot of money for marketing, this is probably the smallest crew Liam has ever worked with.

Well how much did they have to pay to play I Am The Walrus every night? It doesn't really work the way people are thinking it does. Now, if Liam were to release a live show, then YES there would be rights to pay for to include the Oasis songs in any paid release.

Christianity..... Godzilla bless. That's weird because I'm sure Jesus was in that too and he never had to shave his off. Sounds like you were had there.
