THE CHIEF'S GUITARS - thechiefsguitars.comI've had this project in my mind for ages: an accurate and detailed list of all (well, almost all) the guitars that Noel has played in Oasis or NGHFB. Every guitar will have its detailed page with info about the model & its background, pictures, a list of its appearance in Noel's hands, etc. The website is a work in progress and a few detailed pages of some very relevant guitars are still missing: they are in the works - and I'm still researching to uncover more background info! It is definitely a no-frills website, but I hope it will be of some interest to the aficionados around! This small project wouldn't have been possible without this forum and its users. I've spent so much time on here digging into old threads & posts. The list is too long - but the insight provided by davidjay , Jim , The Crimson Rambler , guigsysEstring , Mr. Monobrow , schorman , mahsteve & others during the years has been invaluable. A few of these users are sadly not active anymore but their older contributions have been essential. Feel free to leave some feedback

This is great. Brings to mind Johnny Marr’s book Marr’s Guitars.
Thank you for this.

Nice one! In case you need a “starter kit” for the acoustics, here’s the ones I know of:
Gibson J-150 Sunburst (with Adidas sticker) — his main acoustic. Signature version released in 2021
Gibson J-150 Blonde — been using on recent tour but has been around a while.
Gibson J-200s — used here and there live over the years but not recently Martin D-28 — used for Dead in the Water live take on WBTM and on the last few solo tours. Hadn’t made much of an appearance on CS tour yet
Takamine — various models used primarily during Oasis years including 12-string

What a stunning work, carlober! I've looked all the pages briefly, but read the page about the guitar Johnny gave Noel intensively. It must have taken ages to build up the website and thank you very much for sharing your passion for guitars and your great knowledge with us. Even though I can't play a guitar, it's always pleasure to get insight informations of guitars which have been played by my favourite musicians. Like morning_rain said, I take that Noel would check your website. Keep your brilliant work up!

I can even imagine Noel himself checking the website sometime. (Hi Noel, if you're reading. You can send me one of your spare/unused guitars and I'll gladly accept it)

Thanks for this. It's a great website. I was in Hard Rock Picadilly today and saw 'The Professional' in person. Thanks for the extra info!

Isn't there another site called "noelsguitars" or something like that? That was pretty good as well.

UPDATE - New pagesGibson Firebirda very important guitar, used to record Some Might Say and guitar parts for Be Here Now, featured in many Oasis videos and on the Don’t Look Back in Anger sleeve. Sold in 1999. Gibson Les Paul Standard (Goldtop)Noel’s main live guitar for a brief period in 1995; it was later gifted to the guitarist in the Oasis tribute band NoWaySis.
--------------------------------------- By the way, I've always loved the pictures of Noel playing the Firebird at Loco Studios. Badass.

If I may believe this theory, ONE guitar (Johnny's guitar) made Oasis what they were/are and ONE guitar led their end (Paris in 2009). I know it's just a guitar, but I love certain guitars. God bless.
