Gibson are releasing an uber-limited edition (20 pieces only!) of Noel's famous black Les Paul Custom, the second one that Johnny Marr gave him. All profit from the sales will go to support Teenage Cancer Trust... but I bet it will be £10k or more...! It's a perfect replica of the guitar before Noel messed with it in the late '90s! It even has the coil tap switch between the knobs. The only thing it's missing is the oasis sticker on the pickguard It really should have the sticker! Or at least be included separately like with the adidas one

I wonder is this the next signature guitar from Gibson/Epiphone? In related news. Saw Noel’s guitar from the All-Around the world video last night in the Hard Rock Café in Prague.

She’s also photographed the Union Jack Sheraton http://instagram.com/p/C04XCqgMCO4 Man I would love a proper release of this guitar. The supernova isn’t even close. There was a more accurate one a few years back but the paint work wasn’t correct.

Yeah, she's one of the greatest guitar photographer around. Maybe the best one at the moment. She's photographed the guitars shown at the BME exhibition - I suppose for a magazine article.

The photos show incredible detail. Little bits of damage here and there on both the frontier and Union Jack. What is the finish on the Union Jack, almost looks like each part of the flag is stuck on like a sticker.

I haven't finished the Union Jack page yet, but I can confirm that the blue&red parts were actually made of vinyl sticker! The guitar was primed white, then the stickers were glued on it and a clear coat was applied at the end. You can spot the stickers bubbling here and there.

How many times did he use the Union Jack guitar? The two Maine Road gigs obviously. It also appeared on Top of the Pops for two songs on 22nd Feb and 29th of Feb (confirmed to be a second Union Jack by Noel) and he uses one of them in the Champagne Supernova video and the MTV Awards performance of CS. Any other ones?

Any other ones? Off the top of my head: - at a US TV show in 1998, performing Don't Go Away - a couple of NZ dates in 1998 - Goldie's Temper Temper video It was also played for the Knebworth rehearsals/soundcheck and it can be seen in the background of the Hindu Times video. By the way... I still can't believe that he got two UJs. I've always seen pictures of the same one floating around.

It is also captured in the inner sleeve artwork of SOTSOG in a guitar case with some other guitars

Don’t think I’d ever seen the Temper Temper video before. That was wild! Kinda weird that he uses it the first half of 1996 and then it just reappears for promo stuff/NZ gigs in 98 again! There’s a picture of it in a rack with other guitars from the BHN sessions too obviously. Yeah, it is mad there was two but it must be true if Gibson says so!

I think it’s this photo: www.popicons.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/noel-gallagher-collection-1.jpgThat’s from the Be Here Now sessions isn’t it? I haven’t got either of the albums to hand but I thought it was in the BHN booklet.

In the CD booklet. It’s a photo of the equipment in wheeler End Studio and it is in the case with some other guitars, I think another is the white Rickenbacker Weller gave him. I’d take a photo and post it here but I have no idea how to do it and struggle attaching any pictures to my posts in this forum.

Yep, that's in the booklet of BHN, taken by Jill Furmanovsky. Incidentally, it is also the pic on the homepage: thechiefsguitars.com/

Yeah, it looks like a UJ Supernova to me. The first ones came out of the Korean factor in mid 1999 - I believe. It was probably given to Noel sometime during that year.

I thought it was in the page which has the lyrics to WFL on. In the photo is a rack of Noel’s guitars and I thought it was the second one in from the left. I see what you mean, it is the signature guitar version not the actual version apologies

UPDATE - New pageEpiphone USA Casino (Cherry Red):A new entry from last night's gig at the Poole Lighthouse. I bet Noel loves this model... he's now got three of them in three different colours! and also...A few more details about the Paisley Telecaster and the Mapleglo Rickenbacker, thanks to a MSN Webchat from 2000 (and thanks to mahsteve) The Wine Red Matsumoku Riviera was loaned to Proud Mary’s guitarist in the early 2000s (and again, thanks to mahsteve!) Bonehead actually played Noel’s first electric guitar – the Hofner S5 – for Up In The Sky in 1994 and 1995. I only noticed it a couple of days ago! Weird.

Did Noel use an Epiphone Frontier because Steve Marriott used to play one as seen in the video below

About the Red Epiphone Casino. Noel did played a Red one before. Different headstock so must be an older or even one of Paul Weller(?)
