Yo! This is sick! Note — the Hey Hey My My is that same Marr Les Paul, it just had a Bigsby for a bit and then he took it off. It's hard to catch on the FTM video but you can see that wee toggle in between the knobs briefly

I can't spot the toggle switch: oh damn you're totally right ... fark! I thought I saw it towards the start of the song. Kinda funny that he'd have two black les paul customs w P90s and the white pickup ring taken off ... if I meet him again I'm gonna ask him that haha. Wild that the bigsby LP only appeared once too, not even in the same song on the second night. great additions to the site! I love the white 'bring it on down' tele he used to play, I wonder if that's still around somewhere

also the black star sticker he's got on those few guitars is the Dallas Cowboys logo, curiously

This is amazing. I'm sure the white telly is the one Depp gifted him. Also that signature Les Paul is beautiful. Btw your comments section portion on each page of the mobile version is still in Italian, unless you intended to keep it that way 😄

It should be fixed now, if Wordpress is working as it should be. That Signature Les Paul is a lovely piece of gear indeed. And Noel's look in Jill Furmanovsky's photos taken at the French Chateau in 1999 is, erm, peculiar

carloberI believe Noel used his GIBSON LES PAUL CUSTOM (’70S) on the 2001 tour of brotherly love with the Black Crowes when he joined them at the end of their set for a cover. I think he is playing it here, you can see it at 2:23. Noel and Gem joined the Black Crowes on stage to play a cover of the Stooges’ song Down on the street at The Tweeter Center Chicago USA on 20/5/2001

Thanks for the heads-up mahsteve! I also spot a few stickers on the guitar, which means that they were added before I thought! ------------------------------------------------------- I've been busy in the past weeks but there are a few minor updates thanks to Johnny Marr's new, fabulous book Marr's Guitars. It's pure guitar porn, just buy it The famous ex-Marr black Les Paul Custom is not from the early '70s but it is a 1978 model. And it was played by Johnny Marr again during the Heathen Chemistry recording sessions! The Sunburst Stratocaster, used to record Wonderwall and Don't Look Back in Anger, was also used for She's Electric. And the definitive confirmation that the black Rickenbacker seen on the Supersonic sleeve is Johnny's Smiths one and not Noel's one, contrarily to what was stated at the the Oasis exhibitions "Chasing The Sun: Oasis 1993 – 1997".

UPDATE - New pagesNoel’s legendary Japanese Riviera. The Oasis guitar of the golden era. This page is the result of many, many hours of research about this specific model: there will be even more in-depth content about it soon! Noel’s new entry in the live set, bought in June 2023 and first played last week in Amsterdam.

That's actually a different guitar, I have a higher res version of the same pic somewhere where you can see it better. It has mini-humbuckers and a trapeze tailpiece: I still haven't managed to identify it, but it might be a '60s. Noel has never played it live... still looking for more pictures of it - if they exist.

It hasn't got a page yet because I'm still trying to understand if it is Andy's one or not. I think not. Andy's got two that he currently uses in Ride but they're slightly different to the one that Noel played. Maybe Noel used Andy's Trini in the studio but he bought another one for live usage.

In this Gibson NYC showroom interview with Andy Bell from 2011 he explains that Noel borrowed his red trini lopez at 4:33. It got damaged when it was sent back to him in Sweden.

By coincidence, Epiphone's social accounts have just posted some more info and pics about Noel's Riviera. Nice to see that the serial number that I identified after years of research was the correct one http://instagram.com/p/CzvqJ9esEId

There was some interesting guitar chat by Noel on Matt Morgan's latest podcast. Two revealing points:
1) The Knebworth Sheraton guitar has gone missing, suspected stolen. Suspect Noel would reward quite highly for information on it's whereabouts. 2) There were 2 Union Jack guitars, Noel received a 2nd one for use on Top of the Pops in 1996 because the other one was out on tour.

I never knew there were 2 Union Jacks! Reminded me of a photo of Noel using a Union Jack guitar at the infamous Wellington show in 1998. I personally thought he only used the Union Jack guitar during the Maine Road shows. Interesting that he brought it back out again.

I believe the last time we saw the Epiphone Sheraton used at Knebworth and the Be Here Now tour was in 2000 when he was interviewed at Wheeler End Studios as part of a documentary for the Familiar to Millions Live album. On the video below at 3:58 And I think the last time we saw the Union Jack guitar was on the Hindu Times video in 2002, on a stand by Noel’s amps

I've always seen pics of the same one. A second one was never mentioned, not even by people who worked on it. Top of the Pops in Feb 1996 was the first recorded public appearance of the Union Jack guitar: the extra inlays on the fretboard were added at a later date... But if now Noel says that there are two of them...

The fact that the Sheraton got stolen explains why it hasn't been seen since 2000. It was not put on display at the various Oasis exhibitions and the Sheraton currently displayed in Liverpool as a part of the NG guitars exhibition is not the original one.
