I’m sorry but what the actual fuck? Every time I think I’ve heard the best new live vocals from Liam, he comes back with yet another EVEN BETTER performance I am shooketh. This is absolutely insane. How the fuck has he pulled this off? Incredible

Buzzing for Knebworth, I’m going both days… I do wish, though, that he’d have a bit more conviction in his *brilliant* new album. There should be a couple more tunes from it, a bit more prominently in the setlist.
I like Roll it Over as much as the next fella, but does it really deserve a place here? Why not play I’m Free or You’re Too Good For Giving Up, or go back further in the solo stuff for One of Us, For What it’s Worth or Come Back to Me? Not like majority of the crowd even know it.
He’s had three No 1 albums now, and the new one is ace. There should be some more from it up front. 10 oasis songs is great, but back end them. We don’t need Hello, Rock N Roll Star and Morning Glory to open the gig.
I remember feeling the same when Noel’s first album came out - and he opened every night of the tour with It’s Good To Be Free and Mucky Fingers.

Set list is very good, but I'd much prefer Greedy Soul instead of Shockwave.

Agreed w/ poster above. So many good solo pieces, I don’t care much for the old Oasis tunes for the zillionth time. Maybe I’m being an old fan/snob having seen ‘em a lot ‘98-‘08. I am also interested if anyone has any word on whether The Streets played as well..??…

They cancelled all gigs over covid concerns earlier in the year and were replaced by the charlatans.

Good haircut, good jacket Sounded great! Once!!!!!!!!!!!!! More Power is magnificent He nailed every song. I think his voice sounded a bit strained on one of new songs, don’t remember which one, sorry I’m bit drunk, but everything else was 🔥 Roll It Over! But what about Let There Be Love? I was waiting for it 😿 Full band champagne supernova! Good night

I agree with thoughts of this thread.. i'd include some more solo hits over some of the long in the tooth oasis songs.
I'd also theme the gig around the solo stuff more, like open with more power and make it a magical opening.. Have the choir singing and him walk out to open with his voice.
take out shockwave, wonderwall, supersonic, hello.. add in some new solo stuff

I am also interested if anyone has any word on whether The Streets played as well..??… it makes sense many of the people there will be oasis fans just as much as theyre liam gallagher fans, and many of them probably never got to see oasis live. the oasis songs are as much of his body of work as anything else so it should be 50/50 bare minimum. the oasis albums are basically earlier liam albums from a fans perspective. people want to hear his hits. wtsmg is still one of the best selling alhums around so it should get a lot of representation roll it over is a bizarre choice though since it's an obscure album track from an album that even most hardcore oasis fans dont care much about, but he performed it very well from the looks of things. pretty cool. i would like to see all around the world in the setlist. im probably the only person here who thinks he could still sing it lol. i think he could pull off a slightly worse gmex version since his gmex performance wasnt exactly full of high notes. it might kill his voice but then he's been singing DYKWIM which is a similar length

Thoroughly enjoyed it.
Couldn't really hear his vocals as the crowd were very loud. But sounded good from what I could hear.
Crowd was absolutely bouncing for the first 5 songs - Hello, Rock n Roll Star, Morning Glory, Wall of Glass and Shockwave. Then picked back up for Slide Away. Roll It Over sounded class but the crowd was quiet.
Was surprised he played More Power but it sounded good.
Overall a good night.

Assuming that is why.

I thought if there was one Oasis song to dig out it would be Don't Go Away, given it's from his favourite album, not too long and is somewhat known. Id be fine with some more solo stuff, although I feel the reason FWIW hasn't been played much is that the chorus is just too much of a stretch. Could be the same for Too Good For Giving Up, though I guess he's no idea if people love or hate the CYK album tracks.

I think people are missing that there were fans on Twitter literally BEGGING him to play Roll It Over.
He clearly tries to do a bit of pleasing everyone, impossible as it is.
He has at least four different audiences going: casual Oasis fans who want the hits, hard core Oasis fans who press him constantly for the surprise deep or at least rarely heard track, fans who come for Once and Wall of Glass but enjoy the Oasis sing-a-longs, and a smaller if vocal number of fans who want him to emphasize the solo stuff.
No matter which ratio he picked there would be people wanting the opposite. But it's obvious from watching any of the shows (this one included) that the audiences still come alive during Oasis sing-a-longs. Only song approaching that from his solo career is Once. Will that last forever? Unclear, but a show of mainly solo songs would definitely not have this atmosphere.

Bummer that Wave isn't on the setlist. Tune is absolute FILTH....
It would be awesome for Liam to sing "My Brotherr don't liiiiike me" to the scores @ Knebworth!

I think if he can't please everyone with his setlist, he should try to please no one. Open with The Nature of Reality and close with A Quick Peep during the (Pyro Finale HUGE). The rest should be just Better Man with a super-extended outro.

Yeah I can see why now Noel sticks to his setlist, Liam plays Roll It Over pure fan service, a song not once played live ever-and he nails it. Yet here we are with some ehhhhs. No doubt he will play more stuff off his album, its ONE GIG, I shall enjoy Roll It Over, leave me here.
