Have we ever actually had footage of Noel recording vocals before? I'm sure we did in the NGHFB documentary at some point, but it still is weird to look at. Makes you realise what a good singer he is, really - just gets compared to the greatest voice of a generation too often to stand out.

I've often wondered what he was doing in that duet with Burt Bacharach, sat on a stool like some old crooner or something. Anyway this sounds great whatever it's for. |

Anyway, Noel is not doing a covers album of his own. Matt had asked Noel if he would, and paraphrasing here but he said, 'I would like to, but I would not want to.' That is the extent of this "covers album" absurdity.
Apple Co./Lennon Family also did not ask him to do the cover. It seems Noel has recorded it on his own, but could use the approval by Yoko/The Lennon's if he could release as-is. No word yet on if he even asked to release it as-is. But the John Lennon website has acknowledged it in their latest News post for today Oct. 9 2020 @ JohnLennon.com

It's related to it all right. Apparently artists and just about anybody online can use the hashtag #GimmeSomeTruth, and if you so happen to be a recording artist, celeb or a musician who posts a lot of stuff and maybe mention John's b-day today, you get to be potentially featured on the John Lennon website if your social media posts contains a full John Lennon cover, or a snippet. And that's exactly what happened with Noel's post this morning. I am just going off what I've been able to find. The most annoying thing to see today was people going crazy for the sudden rumor that "Noel's doing a covers album! Huff-hoh! Huff-hoh!" Again, absurd. |
