I don’t think Noel’s team are at fault here- you’ve got to take government advice. They’re probably looking to see if rescheduling is possible and probably working with TCT to see when they are looking to play their run of gigs. Timing might not work if Noel’s in the studio so there might be some working out to do Perhaps also for legal reasons they're waiting for a government decision before cancelling the shows: as long as gigs can legally go ahead, if Noel's team decide to cancel it they might not, or partially, be insured for the refunds, whereas if the government forbids any gig in the UK then they'll be 100% insured. So they might just be waiting for the government ban on gatherings, not just recommendations. Agreed. There are all kinds of contractual and legal reasons that they may be silent/stating that it is just "postponed", etc. To assume that it is just Noel's management being incompetent is a bit of a stretch. There are many people involved in this (promoters, venue owners/managers, ticket sellers, etc). I'm sure just like all of us, they are trying to get information and trying to balance being too quick with limited information vs waiting too long to have all the information to make a decision a bit too late.

I would agree with both of you if these gigs like for example Liam @ Heaton Park would be still weeks/months away and you can predict how the whole situation looks like by that time BUT this was supposed to happen in 1 week! So there is no way this is gonna happen.
Its simply terrible how his management and PR is for an artist of his status not only at the moment - for years.

Pretty sure this hasn't been proved either way as of yet. It isn't certain whether you can catch the disease multiple times or not, or how long the immunity lasts if it does exist. You could catch it next week, be immune, then end up catching it again when it comes back round in the summer. It is a very big gamble if this is honestly their strategy, which I don't believe it is. It's influenza. It's just a new strain. Once you catch something you're immune 99% of the time (more often than not, except in rare cases where you're body is still recovering and your exposed again – which is exactly why a 14-day quarentine with other infected people is a risk). That's all a vaccine is at the end of the day isn't it. Giving your body a small dose to build up antibodies. The 'immunity' thing will be part of the strategy. Of course the ideal scenario is to avoid it at all but that's not realistic in terms of the whole population given how quickly it spreads.

All shows and events until 31 March are temporarily postponed, so to help keep you up to date of plans and changes, ticketholders of any affected event will be contacted directly. That's from the Apollo site. It'll get done mate. They may still be rescheduling these gigs, which could take time. They'll announce something when there's a definite solution - whether it's refunds directly or an alternative date. Not sure why they haven't confirmed the TCT gig but the TCT has done it for them.

If you feel 100% confident then feel free to mix amongst the great unwashed after contracting it and recovering. From what I've read, they aren't 100% about much at the moment, there is still a lot of unknowns. In fact I've read more than 1 report of people catching it twice. Until I'm told categorically by WHO or another trustworthy source that immunity is definitive after contracting and recovering from it, I will err on the side of the heavy caution. I can work from home, I have a big bag of cans and bud, Deliveroo do a contactless delivery. There better be some mental partying going on when all of this blows over though. People partying on the streets worldwide and the government giving us an extra bank holiday weekend type business.

Following the Teenage Cancer Trust’s announcement of the postponement of the band’s show at the Royal Albert Hall, and the cancellation of Glastonbury 2020, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds are also announcing the postponement of the band’s two warm up shows at the O2 Apollo Manchester on March 24th and 25th. Please keep your tickets until info on the rescheduled shows can be announced.

I've seen those reports too mate but in the cases I believe it is people who already had it and then were quarantined with their families and so they had no room to breathe - almost literally. But yes obviously better to be cautious. I am being too, while living my life as normally as possible. On your last point though, this is the thing. By the time it 'all blows over', and everyone floods to bars and arenas and concerts and footy matches and what not... well, that's just a recipe for disaster, isn't it? Because the virus won't be gone. Not for a while - a year at least. So... basically, the only actual way to beat it at the moment (at least to some extent) is to get it...

The last time I attended one of Noel's concerts was in may 2019 when he played the Palladium in London. Front row. I said to myself, that I won't see him again in the near future because it was great sitting/standing there and enjoying Oasis songs, his "old" solo stuff and some "meh" songs from his last album. But when I lived in London I always enjoyed seeing shows at the Royal Albert Hall. One of the best venues worldwide. So I am gonna see him again in march and I'll try to take a picture with him at the artist entrance. But after this show I guess I am really done with him. You can't compare Liams's and Noel's gigs. It is great to see Gem and Chris with Noel but it would be so much better to see both of them on stage with Liam. It makes sense for Noel to stop producing "music" for atleast a year or two. I don't think that he could sell out venues with more than 4/5.000 people outside of the UK right now. I think Noel can sell out Budokan(10,000 capacity) show in Japan.

I mean it's nothing to do with that ffs. None of the artists can play it, clearly. It's about venue availability and everything. Just like Liam's gig at Heaton Park. Also, he lives in Hampshire now, as far as I know.

Point taken about the house move, however if he really wanted to reschedule the show for 2021 along with The Who, and his good friend Roger Daltrey, it's fairly clear that he could. He just doesn't fancy it. Upcoming break or not, this is very poor form from Noel.

The Phonics do loads for Charity, for example. Nobody even knows when anything is gonna be able to come back. Seems a strange thing to be critical for, though i do see your point and it's shit that it's not going ahead (I know you'd got TCT tickets).

It's a sterile debate imho.
And 2021 is far away. Things might change. I can't see why it's poor form from Noel in this situation.

Just reschedule for March 2021... Exactly. And even if the band weren't around for whatever reason, Noel could turn up with one acoustic guitar and put on a great show.

Hi there, This event has been cancelled... The event organisers have been in touch to let us know that the show, which was due to take place on 27 March 2020, has been cancelled. The following statement has been issued: "Thanks for bearing with us during this difficult time. Following the decision of the Royal Albert Hall to close due to the Coronavirus situation, we had no choice but to press pause on this week's Teenage Cancer Trust gigs. Since then we’ve been working hard to re-schedule the shows for another week during 2020 but unfortunately this will now not be possible. Sadly, for the following shows, we are not able at this time to confirm a revised show date. We know this will be a huge disappointment and we would like to thank all of our artists for their continued support. 24 March: An Evening of Comedy Hosted by John Bishop and special guests 25 March: Stereophonics + Very Special Guest Paul Weller 26 March: Groove Armada 27 March: Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds We truly appreciate all of your support and look forward to welcoming you back to our world-famous gigs in the very near future. But cancer doesn’t stop for anything. Many young people with cancer are particularly at risk from coronavirus, facing extreme isolation and uncertainty right now. So we’re doing everything we can to support young people throughout this crisis. If you feel able to support us, please donate today: teenagecancertrust.org/royal-donate" Given the extraordinary circumstances, our refund process is taking slightly longer than usual. You don’t need to do anything; please rest assured we are working through these as quickly as possible and will issue a refund for your tickets to the method of payment you used to buy your tickets. Please understand that given the circumstances, our Fan Support teams are incredibly busy at the moment, so we encourage you not to contact us. Instead, you can find lots of information and answers to your questions in our information portal. We're sorry for any disappointment caused. Thank you very much for your patience. Best Wishes, Ticketmaster Customer Service

In terms of the Apollo gigs, I wouldn't be surprised to see them cancelled but as it stands they're still looking to reschedule.
However, there'll be no point in doing so until the situation is clear as to when exactly gatherings can start again.
Strangely enough, I know NG's UK booking agent has been lining up Ulster Hall (Belfast IIRC) so perhaps they're looking at a small tour later in the year. Too early to tell.

But the agent offered NG. Anyway, just found out from a family friend this morning (he promoted DMA's in 2018/19 so it's what he does). So yeh, maybe - if it does get booked - it'll just be a run of theatres later in the year as you say.
