Dunno, I reckon he always planned for Wandering Star to be a pre-Christmas single. It’s likely the Japanese website screwed up and listed the wrong track. X Not sure. When you submit stuff to Apple, you decide yourself the release date for Apps, music... etc. So if there is a mistake, it comes from Noel's management. Would they make such a mistake ? Because mistakes happen? For all we know, Blue Moon Rising was originally suppose to be the first thing we heard and was uploaded days or weeks prior. Clearly things changed, as the release date for the EP got pushed back by a few months. My guess is the old wires got crossed, things changed and someone (most likely the intern in the office whom is the only one who knows how this whole Internet thing works) forgot to remove Blue Moon Rising when they switched up the plan to release Wandering Star first. Based on other intel on this forum, Noel supposedly re-recorded Wandering Star at some point. He is notorious for loving something one minute, then changing his mind later and perhaps after re-visiting Wandering Star (or his management saying that you have to put out something more traditional this time around) he made the decision to change the approach very late in the process, which could also explain the mix-up. Again, these are all (conspiracy) theories and I do not hold any of them tightly. I am just trying to illustrate that there are a million ways that they could mess this up.

It's probably that, but when you submit stuff to Apple, you can publish the same thing on all stores all at once, on one click. So it's weird that there was the mistake just for one country. It's not a conspiracy theory, and probably a mistake, but yeah, it's hard to make that mistake on one store only. If they had mixed up the tracks for all countries, that would be a different story. Maybe they mixed preview and full track.

If the tooling doesn't make it easy to manage all stores at once and it becomes a manual process of going back through and removing it, it would be very easy to miss/forget one of them.

It's the same option to add and remove tracks / apps from the store. one little select button. That's why it's so weird. Maybe they had different dates planned for the release of this track on different country, that's the only way they could have messed this up. We'll never know i guess.

It's also possible that they have farmed out management of the Japenese market to someone who didn't get the memo.

I'm glad he prerecorded Jools, but it's a shame he's out of town in November/December - a few more media performances and a small gig or two and I bet this could have been at the front of everyone's mind this season. This would have been a good year for a half Noel-Gem-Terry/half HFB Christmas show at the Albert Hall.

It’s nice, a good decent song. The worst I can say is that it’s an inferior version of If Love Is the Law.
I don’t love it as much as Sail On or A Dream is All... but this ones about middle of the pack. Better than Black Star Dancing, Rattling Rose, and Evil Flower.

I think the love is the law comparison is really valid mate. Maybe it's the bells...but that had crept into my mind. It's the upbeat sort of song that the public lap up this time if year. Bravo to Team NG on this one.

I found the Jools version far less energetic than his other live versions which is a shame.

The studio version needed the brass after the bridge that appears in the Holland version. And when he finishes this cosmic pop era, he should go to Abbey road with a good producer and record a full on acoustic, brass and orchestra anthemic album. He was born to do it, and I hope hell do it eventually. He has to try!!!

Guys today I listened to all the tracks released this year ... I believe that Noel did an incredible job offering listeners a great variety of sounds in addition to really catchy melodies !!! I repeat that I think he is evolving into respectful way and the experimental tracks after several plays become to all effects part of his charisma as singer-songwriter in which he has accompanied us during these years !!! Liam's work is really nice and good but Noel is pure class!

The ‘my oh mys’ really ruin it - and they aren’t even needed. This first one is especially disjointed.

It's like Noel ran out of time and settled/couldn't come up with something better that fit. Real bummer, as the song (and chorus in particular) is really strong otherwise.
