Descriptions of the Songs: - Dead To The World. Orchestral. Very Midnight Cowboy. - There She Blows. A sea shanty. About Moby Dick. - A song that sounds like Bad by U2. - A slow trippy dream pop track. Sounds like Eno. - A song that sounds like Diamond Dogs era Bowie. - An acoustic ballad with a massive orchestra. - A track inspired by Sun Ra and Archie Shepp with discordant piano chords. - A track that uses a 303 bass synth. - A song that sounds like Burt Bacarach doing Motown. (Probably Flying On The Ground, released on the best of).
Recording sessions: - Jul/Aug 2020 - Brendan Lynch’s Lynch Mob studio for a month. 4 tracks were recorded here while Noel was waiting for his own studio to be finished. - Sep 2020 - Started recording in his own Tileyard studio properly. - Spring 2021 - Strings recorded at Abbey Road.
Personnel: - Tomas Crow. Engineer at Brendan Lynch’s studio. - David Gilmour's backing singers at Brendan Lynch’s studio. - Paul Stacey. Engineer at Noel’s studio. - Johnny Marr will guest on 4 or 5 songs.
Noel’s comments on the album: - “I’m doing this album on my own. I’ve got a feeling that it will be very heavily guitar based. They’ll be pop songs but they’ll be a bit edgy.” - Considering an “eclectic” double album [Zane Lowe interview].
We’re Gonna Get There In The End Demo:
Trying To Find A World That’s Been And Gone Demo:

Dead To The World Strings Video:

Yeah, so I'm bored of WBTM now. Let's fire up the hype train for album #4. Choo choo! X The leak is imminent. What have we left to speculate? Studio versions of Dead in the Water and Don't Stop? A best of or b-sides compilation for Christmas 2018? Noel can afford it by now. Another improvised in studio Holmes album or back to the written at home days? I'm seriously gonna remember and quote this in 2021.

I hope we get an acoustic album. I think Noel is due for a catharsis of some sort.

It's kinda depressing to think it will be three years before new music comes around again.

His next album better sound like an electronic Spirit of Eden.
Thanks.

Given NG's newfound/reinvigorated love for production and production techniques, and if he does do an acoustic/semi-acoustic studio album, perhaps hire Nigel Godrich (highly improbable, he probably won't stand Noel given he trumps decisions taken by McCartney even) as the producer and make one in the style of Beck's Sea Change? Or even Morning Phase!

I'd like to see him scale down the touring and release albums more frequently.

Go further down the rabbit hole. The new album isn't that different but shows a growing number of influences, I'd like to see him explore them further.

Album 4 will be written in the studio with Pharrell Williams who will subsequently join the lineup. It will be laden with big beats and shiny pop melodies. Noel will rename his act Noel Gallagher's high flying NERDS and start wearing a massive hat.

I'd be cool if he works with Holmes again, I just wish Holmes would press him to write better lyrics.

It´s gonna be a collab with Damon Albarn. For fucks sake yes!!!!! I hope Noel surfaces on the new The Good The Bad The Queen album due next year. Or at least have Damon release the original demo of "We Got The Power" with Noel and Graham. People would flock to that song. Record store day 2018 please!

Album 4 with David Holmes. Now, Noel knows the process and knows that he can do it : Who Built The Moon was just an appetizer!

Noel really seems to be wanting to do it all faster now. I suspect an EP with outtakes from WBTM sessions next spring could happen, as he said Fort Knox was not originally included, meaning there's probably other stuff that was recorded.
That or a compilation of unused recordings. Seems like he's really recording all the time so there must lots of stuff to release.

Noel made the point that DITW was included because him and Holmes hadn't recorded any b-sides. We also know that Noel was really struggling to create songs and he didn't really start putting the album together until the stretch run. It honestly wouldn't surprise me if the most that was left of the sessions were the unusable spools of ideas that Noel had, but never got developed.

I'd love for this to happen, but there might not be that much extra in the bag from the Holmes sessions. Noel said they didn't have any material for b sides, which is why they had to dig DITW out for the bonus track. X
