Too soon for touring rehearsals, and the little "tour" he did was already well rehearsed. I bet on finished unfinished tracks from the sessions for a before tour EP. So yay I'd be happy to be proved wrong, but I'm super sceptical about Noel putting out new songs on an EP. Those things don't sell much, so he won't waste songs on them. We might get a single and b-side, but I doubt an EP (other than a remix EP). As pointed out above, he was working on WBTM straight after CY, not a CY EP... X |

X Yeah but CY was a collection of songs from many sessions, he didn't need to go back to it. Just to pick this and that from his computer folder "songs to release". WBTM has unfinished tracks. Maybe not an EP, but bsides for future singles, that'd be cool... compiled in a physical EP next year  |

My guess is they just continued working when Who Built the Moon was wrapped up. As Noel Says its just little bits here and there. Holmes passing him ideas etc. There'll also be quite a few unfinished songs from the sessions aswell. He'll have until the tour to work on the next album and then afterwards. A summer 2019 release for album number 4 ?

Not seen this mentioned anywhere, so forgive me if this is repetition.
But I heard on Radio X last night that Noel has confirmed he will be working with David Holmes for his next album. David has brought ideas to the table that are even more 'far out', according to what I heard on radio.
Still plenty of time for the Chief to bin it off, I guess

Don't tell anyone but I heard Noel say that NGHFB #4 is THE truly experimental record that he's been trying to make for the past 5 years, it sounds like The Smiths doing The Beatles doing Led Zeppelin doing The Who doing Radiohead and features Ian Brown playing the Glockenspiel. I'm fucking hyped.

Please God no more albums with David Holmes!!
I was not blown away by WBTM at all and it hasn't grown on me one bit- there's no great songs on there at all. TMWBTM is ok but not as amazing as everyone makes out.
I just don't get the new 'sound', it's not out there it is just crap! If it wasn't Noel Gallagher and you heard the album it would be laughable and cringe worthy.
I'm a massive Noel fan but if he does another one with David Holmes I won't be interested in it one bit- it may even be the first time I don't buy a Gallagher related release ( including all singles).

Please God no more albums with David Holmes!! I was not blown away by WBTM at all and it hasn't grown on me one bit- there's no great songs on there at all. If it wasn't Noel Gallagher and you heard the album it would be laughable and cringe worthy. I'm a massive Noel fan but if he does another one with David Holmes I won't be interested in it one bit- it may even be the first time I don't buy a Gallagher related release ( including all singles). I think my favourite songs from the album would have fit on Chasing Yesterday quite well, whereas I don't like the New Order style stuff at all. I've not listened to the whole thing in a long time though. I would quite like to see Noel maybe start a 'superband' or something for his next record a bit like Jack White did. I don't think I'd be very interested in another David Holmes record. |
