Thought Liam sounded very good on DOYS.
As for the song, I think its quite good, I hadn't taken any of the hype regardless of what hysterical radio presenters said. Liam's vocal is great and and I like that some of the instrumentation is quite understated, I don't feel like it tries to hard which can often be the mistake made with these sort of songs. Putting it with what else I've heard so far not only am I convinced it won't be a disaster but I think it will probably be quite good.

honestly, the chorus is close to being cringeworthy. What a surprise. The usual negative shite comment from yourself. All you do is moan about everything it’s a joke

would love to say that about a liam song.... No, you wouldn't. if course i would. i would be the happiest post oasis fan, if he pulls another flick of the finger. unfortunately, he's been only pulling songs so far, that resembling these beady eye rubbish tunes, which i can't even remeber the names of, cos they were that bad, that i couldn't care less.

I've wrote this out three times and decided against it so hopefully the 4th time it sounds better as I do need to make this point I honestly don't know what people expect from a post Oasis album/song even. Noel worked around Liam in a way because everyone wanted to hear Liam (any Oasis fan that says otherwise isn't really an Oasis fan) but they aren't Oasis now so why the dissecting over every little thing? "oh the middle 8 is not good" On a Beady Eye/Liam track for example or on "AKA What A Life" it sounds too disco, whatever you want to call it the fact is in the Oasis days I don't recall the nitpicking at the slightest thing, i've been here longer than my join date is (which in itself is over 10 years and only lost the other account because of a lost password) and I can say 100% that we'd not have this picking at stuff at an Oasis album, it'd be great/ok/shite because it was just our taste and I liked that. Now we have all these youtube artists (yeah remember your place) who think stating the obvious is beyond them because they've had 12k+ views on their latest radiohead cover or whatever they've done but the truth is people like or don't like what they hear and that will never change, i'm no musician in anyway and I don't like a few genres but I don't go nitpicking at every little thing like i'm better than someone else like people (mostly under 30) do! Just be honest and say it's shite to your ears which is fine BTW, us of the 30+ age range will just say we think it's good or shit in all honesty without going all Simon Cowell on it It's fine to like a band and hate their solo work, just don't bore us all with it

We are all just expressing our feelings about songs, albums... If it is allowed to write comments like: Biblical, I'm crying, best song ever...Then it is also ok to write that it is shit if that is what you feel about it. That doesn't make you a hater or less Oasis fan. I am writing on this forum because I am fan of Oasis. But in my head, Oasis means probably something else than in someone else's head. I am fan of that idea behind the band that was in 90s, that sound of the band, that quality of the songs, albums... I am not some blind fan of Noel and Liam who thinks that everything they do is great and that you are not as big fan as I am if you don't think like me. So, my latest thought on this song is that it sounds like some it was made and performed by someone who looks like this

Jesus Christ, if someone wants to analyze it, go ahead. If they simply want to say they love it or hate it, go ahead. This is a fecking forum.

I like it. For me:
1. FWIW 2. Chinatown 3. WOG
Although in FWIW there were parts where I was sure Take That were about to start singing Shine.

I'm not slagging anyone off if they hate it BTW, thought I made that clear in my post I only said there is a few people being too picky just because they think they can do a few videos on youtube or something, whereas the older posters don't try and be clever they call a spade a spade without trying to be clever.

I really like it, but I wish that the lead guitar bits would be louder in the mix. I think that would make it more memorable. I understand that they probably want Liam's vocal really prevalent tho....

Cause you're a psychic and can read Noel's mind and see the future. *eyeroll* And no, the songs are not hollow, that is where they communicate their emotions to each other with the most honesty. #oasis101

It's really not his writing style. He purposely writes himself out of his songs. And they are. Kinda hard to say, "I'm sorry in one breath and then call someone a working class traitor in the next." I mean they aren't in a band anymore. What form of musical communication has Noel made since he went solo?

By getting some yank publicist to ask a guy you've never met to write a 'heartfelt' apology song for you? That's when they're most honest? To be honest I think it's far more likely to be directed toward the women in his life from his public behaviour, I don't get the impression he feels he owes Noel an apology at all. A very important lesson in life is to judge people by their actions, not their words. very apt with Liam I'd suggest... What is good about this for all us Oasis fans is it shows just how hard it is to write songs like Noel. I have absolutely no doubt he has something a thousand times better in the vault. Warner Brothers no doubt have paid top dollar to hire some of the best scribes in the business, and they don't come close.

"If I had a gun" and "Stock the clocks" are basically just a few predictable notes repeating themselves over and over again. Not particularly hard at all to write. I'm quite sure Noel's next album will be completely forgettable, just as most of his last two. I think you are mostly right about FWIW, however. Sorry for my english.

It's the chorus, I can do the verses pretty easily but couldn't hit the notes in the chorus, the whole thing sounded a bit strained to be honest so was better just dropping it down a step. Nice one for that, I think it would benefit me having singing lessons as I have no clue on breathing techniques to be honest and have read it really does help! It does help, even just doing vocal exercises, you can probably find loads on youtube. I know it's not that rock n roll haha but the voice is still using muscles that need to be exercised and used properly like anything else if you want to get the best out of it, no different to training other muscles for sport or whatever really. I do reckon to a point we're born with a certain vocal range that differs from person to person but you can definitely broaden it a bit with the right practice. I never really wanted to do vocal exercise or learn technique because i didn't think it was "cool" or whatever but i was having persistent issues with my throat from medical reasons and found that it helped massively when i did exercises, and over time i was singing things with ease that used to be a strain. Will definitely think about doing some lessons I think, can't do me any harm can it? I never do any warm ups either so that might be worth thinking about. Bloody expensive though. thuperthonic Will take a look mate, cheers!
