Keep The Dream Alive is actually alright.
It has it's qualities.
I quite like it.

Keep The Dream Alive is actually alright. It has it's qualities. I quite like it. Agreed. The whole song is really good and a solid 8 or so but I think the rough "Na na na"s by Liam after the guitar solo let it down. Had it just gone straight to the outro, I think it'd be regarded as one of the top tracks on DBTT. (Also, it should've closed out DBTT. Noel had it right with the first track listing that had STC on it, which was floating around on here a while ago.)

I prefer the album version of Cast No Shadow over the faster live version from the 90s. Even though the live version takes on a life of its own, the dreamy atmosphere on the album version, an essential part of the song imo, gets lost because of that change.

Would be better if it wasn't so repetitive, though.

Oasis paint by numbers type song. If Andy hit a home run with Turn Up The Sun, he struck out looking on this tune. 3 pitches right down the middle.

Love like a bomb is another one that comes to mind (actually, whenever someone mentions bad vocals on albums by Liam, that's the first one to pop into my mind). Lovely melody, vocals ruin it (Love like a bomb, not Keep the dream alive).

Liams voice was actually pretty shit across HC and DBTT, think he had some smoke and mirrors on tracks like SCYHO considering how rough he sounds on other songs, another reason why I consider DOYS such a missed opportunity, Liam really brought back a solid vocal on that album, certainly the best since SOTSOG.

The Importance of being Idle is the best oasis song in the 00s. That's probably a popular opinion on here!

Post your Oasis opinions that you think are controversial/uncommon. I'll start with mine: Slide Away isn't one of Oasis's best songs.

My Sister Lover is brilliant.
My Big Mouth is a top 10, or maybe top 15 Oasis song.
While I've come to appreciate it more in the past few years, and the guitar is amazing, Bring It On Down is still a throwaway/potential skipper for me.
Songs like Headshrinker and Eyeball Tickler do not fit the Oasis sound, and I'd take crappy the Quiet Ones type songs over them, because that is where Liam thrives vocally, at least in studio.
Little By Little is annoying.
Lyrics mean dick all to me, and as long as they are on a slightly higher level than something like Baby by Justin Bieber, I'm completely fine. If the lyrics are shite but someone as awesome as Liam or Noel are singing them, and the music going with them is good, who gives a fuck?

this really shouldnt be such an unpopular opinion but
we talk about liams voice way too much, praising it is one thing, but we're literally dissecting and taking apart every single milisecond of every performance, footage of him singing on the toilet, in the pub etc
