Get the fuck out of my forum and go and be a football hooligan, right? --- Flatulence Panic His songs are shite pal. Exhibit A from the Deja Voodoo LP- Deep Fried Heart. A composition featuring lyrics that make Noel's lesser moments seem positively poetic, all set to Xeroxed glam rock tones....£70,000 signing fee plus recording costs, etc. Creation Records blew on this mob

Tight guitarist. Steadied the ship. Looked cool as fuck. Is a top bloke. None of these things are being denied by me, but the song quality over the years in various bands has simply not been there. Oh and #WengerOut

Tight guitarist. Steadied the ship. Looked cool as fuck. Is a top bloke. Oh I'm sure he and Andy are nice guys. Looks I don't care about. The majority of their songs were shit. And I hate the way Gem used to play the solo to Don't look back in anger.

After thinking about it for a month, I've decided to come out and say it: I'm not that keen on the new DYKWIM rethink.
I think its very interesting to hear it cleaned and tidied and I love the fact that the bass is present, and Liam's voice clearer. But I can't stand the strings...Richard Ashcroft ruined strings for me. When I used to hear/read 'featuring strings' I'd think 'Whatever' which was exciting. Now I hear strings and I think overwrought cheese. This rethink sounds more like HC to me than BHN.
I'm glad we got this and I'd certainly be interested in hearing more but to me the original is far better as an Oasis fan. The original is the sound of Oasis on top of the world. It sounds like that helicopter is soaring and plowing through a blizzard of cocaine lol. As a regular radio listener, I'd probably like the new one more.

Tight guitarist. Steadied the ship. Looked cool as fuck. Is a top bloke. Tight guitarist - CHECK (though he's not 'great' to the point of being irreplaceable, he's certainly no Johnny Marr) Steadied the ship - Really? Jumped onto a sinking ship more like. As far I recall, Oasis MKII couldn't even come close to matching Be Here Now, let alone the first two albums.... Looked cool as fuck - Scraping the barrel for compliments, in what way does this compliment the music? If this is more important than actually, you know, having songwriting talent, then what on earth are you listening to music for? Is a top bloke - I don't doubt it, but again, why is this important to the music? Oh well, one out of four ain't bad.... actually no, it's pretty bad.

Coldplay's first album is allright. But the rest is awful, getting worse and worse. The Verve never made a forth album. It never happened. NEVER. Amnesiac is a chef d'œuvre. Nirvana always bored me. Could have written it, except the line about Amnesiac (still a good album imo, even though I'm not Radiohead biggest fan). Nirvana bores the tits off me, aswell. Doesn't help that from where I am (France) it's the only rock band people seem to fuckin know. I've always disliked Coldplay, and they got worse album after album. I can't choose a favourite album of mine from 2008. Wasn't a great year in my book. Parachutes and A Rush Of Blood... are 100% solid albums for me. Alot of Radiohead influences on them and also VLA has abit of post Kid-A vibes on tracks like 42. My dismissiveness with the London quartet as of late is due to their past 3 LP endeavors which have suffered from being extremely drenched with forgettable modern pop influences, overproduction, useless collaborations, false sense of reality (happy albums bore me, not going to lie), and just an endless wave of mediocrity that continues. Forth isn't Verve's best stuff of course but it wipes the floor with anything Ashcroft did post Urban Hymns.

'I love caro', seems to be a pretty unpopular Oasis forum opinion. You're helpless and miserable, always chasing your dreams you can't make and waiting for someone else gives you a ready made solution. My apologise for posting non topic post.

Guigsy was a decent bass player.
See "I am the walrus" at Glastonbury.

I detest Dig Out Your Soul these days, due to its bland production, and its bland instrumentation and it's mid tempo plodding nature and it's lack of rhythm. It's so colourless and boring. Because of this, it's an album that is about as 'psychedelic' as a cup of Scottish Blend.
But I just listened to the Get Off Your High Horse remix by Devandra Banhart and was impressed. Surprise, surprise, he adds much more colour and vibrancy to the tune, giving it a Latin American flavour to it as opposed to generic 60s rock that swamps the album. It brings it to life and as a result of the change in context, Noel's vocal melody is changed from that of a tired uninspired middle aged bloke to the dreamlike and ethereal.

Guigsy was a decent bass player. See "I am the walrus" at Glastonbury. He was a competent/decent bass guitarist, even though he didn't play on certain records including Definitely Maybe. I have often wondered if his lack of appearance on that album was less to do with his overall skills for what were straight forward bass lines, and more to do with Noel being a perfectionist along with the rerecording issues caused by scrapping the bulk of the Dave Batchelor sessions and starting over.

Probably 'too effeminate' a version for some folk...
