Noely G., if you could cover a Bowie song at your gigs later this year, it'd be much obliged...

I love it theres something about that first verse lyrics for me. She wore a star-shaped tambourine The prettiest girl I had ever seen Was standing lost and lonely on the shore I try to catch her every night Dancing on her own in the candlelight But I can't seem to reach her anymore it has a meaning to me maybe not to others but for me it does. Never really thought about this before but how exactly do you wear a tambourine!? zOMG the song is totally about Liam:

Hold that thought don't let me go, we can dance beneath the fireflies on an empty road. Beautiful song. I loved it since the leak back in February but I hadn't listened to it for a while, maybe three months. I put it on this morning and it just made a lot of sense... hauntingly beautiful track.

Will he release something in the next 6 months? He will play until at least July.

Noely G., if you could cover a Bowie song at your gigs later this year, it'd be much obliged... Well, we know what he's like... probably will get nothing. If he does one I think it would be Heroes (which would be great!) although I think he could do a great version of Starman.

I'd be interested to know what his Jean Genie would be like actually. If he did a good rendition of it, it could be a useful addition to his set as well, what with the lack of rockier numbers in his usual set.

Mind you, no way could Tim Smith play Ronson's bit. Hope Noel's plucked up the nerve to tell him he's not wanted anymore, now that Gem seems to be back in the fold.

It would be amazing and incredible wishful thinking for Noel to "drop" his 3rd album this spring since he has a tour running through summer supporting an album a year old at this point. Let's move forward with new material please. You aren't getting any younger Noel. Be like Bowie. Be bold....

On a related note to what I posted over in the Oasis counterpart to this thread, I think that In the Heat of the Moment, The Right Stuff, While the Song Remains the Same, and Ballad of the Mighty I are all great steps in the right direction for Noel's writing, and Riverman is a step in the right direction for Noel's arranging. They all have more of a different, and sort of modern feel to themselves than what he's usually written in the past, and I'm hoping that this third album he's working on, presumably with an electronic music producer, ends up being a continuation of those five songs I mentioned. While I don't mind The Dying of the Light & Lock All the Doors, and enjoy You Know We Can't Go Back, I could not take an album full of those songs at all, unless it has the title Come on Outside, but that's more in the vein of The Mexican, with its riff-heavy nature.

(probably not but thats the best I can come up with )
