We should take off in our car, with Noel's electric guitar to get him to stop writing on that instrument. Then we should replace it with an electro-theremin and album #3 will be undoubtedly good.

Stop the Clocks is an amazing tune, amazing closer, and has fantastic production. Fight me. I challenge you to Mortal Kombat!

I would like to throw up some hairballs on Noel's carpet for butchering "Stop the clocks" with our old brick(wall)layer Dave Sardy.

While The Song Remains The Same might be one of Noel's finest tunes It sounds more mature than Oasis early work (obviously) both in terms of songwriting and production/arrangement,but Noel's melodic brilliance is just as audible and it doesn't feel forced or clichè in any way The lyrics are beautiful too

I don't know where Noel got the idea for a trumpet to play the main riff on Soldier Boys and Jesus Freaks, but he had the right idea with it. It makes the solid lyrics (and Kinks reference) stand out well, while giving a crazy cool lounge feel to the song.
I love the Great Gig in the Sky-like vibe of Let the Lord Shine a Light on Me. The female vocalist in that song (Joy Rose?) does an incredible job to sing over top of a cool melody that provides an amazingly haunting atmosphere. It's unlike anything Noel's done before, and I wish he'd do more stuff like it (and Alone on the Rope).

Could be, but it could've also been Strangeboy, now that I think about it. He and his brother seem rooted in jazz, and the trumpet riff added a jazz-y touch to the song, so I mean, it makes sense.

I just listened to the demo from FTTSOM and it appears that Noel had the trumpets in mind since the beginning! So, your theory is a bit more plausible.

(Stranded On) The Wrong Beach is so Dig Out Your Soul it hurts. If I ever find out it could have been in contention Noel... Not 100% confirmed but it's safe to say Wrong Beach, Freaky Teeth, Soldier Boys and Dream On were some of the tracks demoed during the rough side sessions of Dig Out Your Soul. Noel and Sardy mentioned songs being performed with Gem and a toy drum kit. Sardy wanted to record them properly but NG knocked it back. The songs above fit in with the rough nature description. He also mentioned "AKA..." titles and a Neil Young storytelling angle although neither What a Life or Broken Arrow are demoed in the same fashion. There was also the comments from Liam (Absolute Radio / DGSS promo I think?) that some songs from Noel's first album, he had previously sung, most likely Record Machime and Stop the Clocks, and that Andy and Gem had played on certain songs, most likely the above demos and again Record Machine and Stop the Clocks.

And people make out Sardy to be the bad guy. Thanks for the reply. Come On Outside, Freaky Teeth, (Stranded On) The Wrong Beach and maybe a more heavily reworked Record Machine would have made something really special. Annoying really.

Speaking of Sardy, I missed reading this question during the AMA: And here is Noel's response...

I absolutely abhor how LATD was a single, and even more so how management promoted its release with Oasis nostalgia. Fucking hell Noel, I'm ready to say that this decision was even more egregious than BDI playing Noel Oasis songs. Stop taking steps backward.

LP3 had better finally be Noel's Eno-produced, electronic, dystopian, concept double album or things are gonna start to get pretty stale.

This is interesting.
1. He's surely not demoing. You don't bring in this guy to just demo.
2. My guess is it's early in the process and he'll spend the better part of his off time 4 recording this year.
Could expect an album in mid to late 2017.

Not so long ago he said he wanted to have at least half of the album finished at the end of January He also said we could expect the record out in 2017 Now I know it's Noel,but...
