What.CD sounds like pretentious garbage. Nah it's awesome. Best site since the dearly departed Oink for getting any kind of music in any kind of format you can think of. Some of the commenters are dicks but you can avoid the forums and learn to sift through the posts of people that just comment on a torrent because they hate the artist or whatever. Plus you don't even have to open the page with the comments in order to download it anyway. It's really only needed if you're unsure of what version to get and want to see if any kind of relevant info was put up. The invite system is for protection because I'm sure there are many parties out there looking to shut it down. |

How does one get an account on What.cd anyway? Was wondering that earlier. You have to be invited. Some people are hesitant to give out invites because if the invitee screws up bad, the person who sent the invite can get in trouble too (really would have to be a bad situation though) Its not that. You can't invite strangers or offer invites on other places. Yes, if the invitee screws up it falls to the inviter as well (depends on what they do). Theres a reason why so many people swear by it. You name the record, its on there or it can be requested on there very quickly. |
