Anybody else get the UNCUT special? Got it yesterday and it seems pretty decent. Loads of old interviews reprinted and new reviews of all the albums. Some of the scores are a bit off mind. *** for The Importance of Being Idle and **** for The Meaning of Soul is just wrong in any universe. Listen Up only got ** also... Aside from that it seems worth it. I've already got most of the articles in their original form but it's worth getting. I do get the feeling though that some of the writers who have re-reviewed the albums don't actually like Oasis that much. Haven't had a chance to sit down and read them yet but just from looking through it the re-reviews but not be that complimentary.

Just checked the site this morning and the demo tape's finally listed as unavailable Makes me kinda glad I didn't buy it on the first day really, I thought it was gonna be like a one day only thing. No use for cassettes nowadays anyway.

In yesterday's show of Manchester Music the host announced that next week she is going to play some tracks off the new issue. It might be the ones we already know, but I thought I'll let you know. www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p001d756

I'm really hoping a Knebworth DVD is included in the WTSMG package.. or atleast in 2015 for the anniversary that Noel mentioned

Aside from that it seems worth it. Yeah some of the scores are a bit out; MBM **??! But it's ok, I like how they've retrospectively reviewed the albums again in todays context however I wished they'd given the albums as a whole a score out of 5 or 10 as some of their reviews are quite ambiguious as to whether they think they're good or not. Going by the song scores I'd say they rank the albums; DM WTSMG TM SOTSOG BHN DBTT DOYS HC But I might be wrong in that assessment;

if those are the actual album rankings, then that's a fair assessment

I'd argue for Don't Believe The Truth to be a bit higher though as it's probably their most consistent album post-Morning Glory.

Picked up that Uncut magazine - very interesting - 8 quid but worth it for the fans. if the intro on p.5 from bonehead is to be believed, then demos for what's the story definitely did exist on cassette at some point (and within the oh-so-secure fucking postal system for a time!); wonder if he's still got one of the copies???
some amusing errors in there as well though. Three Ring Circus is printed as Three Wing Circus on p.132 (there's a whole letter between the 'r' and the 'w' on any respectable keyboard ffs), and the reviewer for familiar to millions keeps noting banter from the second drunken liam night as though it is this performance that was used for the release, when in fact the official release was sourced from the first night and the drunken banter from night one only appears in small bits within those random menu links on the dvd - interesting to find out where the overdubs for wonderwall came from though.

if those are the actual album rankings, then that's a fair assessment SOTSOG better than Be Here Now and Don't Believe The Truth? I'm not too sure.

There was nothing in yesterday's show. I am absolutely sure she said something like that last week, but maybe she meant she'll play it sometime in the next weeks. Sorry about that!

Once I get my cassette tape in the mail then what? read the linear notes that come with the artwork, convert the audio digitally if you are able to so you have a newly remastered version of the recording... then find a nice place on some shelf with the rest of your oasis collection and admire it from time to time, pleased that you're not one of the poor bastards now paying a fortune for the thing on ebay lol
