Are they shipping the cassette separately if you ordered the LP/super deluxe? the answer from the shop: "The cassette should be shipped separately and get there before the box set." cheers

I'm going to love the surprise people are gonna get when they see the word Oasis in solid white instead of the white lines seeing the Union jack backdrop swirl. I'm referring to the cassette

scroll up and look my post few days before I did. The cassette will be shipped out before the box set release date. The box set and the cassette are completely separate things...the box set doesn't even include the cassette, which is criminal considering how much I'm paying for it.

Anyone get a conformation yet? To quote Spaceballs... I must admit, I'm kinda impatient to hear these demos in remastered form... just got to dust down this ancient cassette deck in readiness for their arrival. It's almost as high-tech as a Cuisinart.

Mine arrived earlier, I've typed up the sleeve notes as well. OASIS LIVERPOOL 1993 Manchester sometime in 1993. Six audio astronauts depart home and trek 30 miles along the M62 motorway to the crazy, post industrial run down city of Liverpool, to record the beginnings of what will become their revolution, their very own Woodstock, their Shangri-La. Through industrial wastelands and into the heart of the Dock Road, gateway to what was once the North West heartbeat of import and export, goods and humans alike, a million stories buried under the weight of good times gone by. Home from home. Faced with derelict warehouses sporting heavy, rusted and rotten steel doors, and beyond into a dark and mysterious world of music, drugs, late nights, late mornings, chips and curry, comradeship, understanding, utter freedom of speech, love, life, youth, to an inner sanctum specifically catered to artists, musicians, artisans, partisans, chancers, kings, lords, losers, winners, claggies. Welcome to Porter Street Studio, home of The Real People. Rudimentary recording equipment abounds and consists of a Seck Mixing Console, Fostex 8 track recording machine, microphones accumulated from every 200 capacity shithole gig in the country, not one single operational microphone stand, not a single mic lead that didn't require the close attention of a hot soldering iron with its wisps of smokey poisonous lead solder, gaffa tape holding together the very fabric of the building. Add to the mix a band with a collection of fabulously ferocious songs in their infancy, a great dollop of the most boundless enthusiasm imaginable, attitude off any scale known to man... and a off we go... press play and record... 1-2-3-4... BANG!!! Welcome to the arena... OASIS, like Vesuvias sat atop the world's accumulated arsenal of nuclear and atomic weaponry with the power of the sun nestled underneath... mind blowingly explosive you might say. Somehow, when sometimes things seem impossible, as special occasions warrant and befit, a certain magical and esoteric force takes center stage and wrestles uncertainty to the ground and grabs it in a professional wrestler's grasp, and holds firm. By sheer weight of will alone, the session takes shape. That desperate yearning to stand tall and shout out "WE ARE HERE" becomes more and more apparent with every roll of the tape, every beat of the music, every cascade of searing guitar and purposeful, deliberate vocal. A star is born, a light is switched on, a door is opened. We stumble out from the dark and blinking into the light, out of the coldest cold and into the warmest of warmth. All in all, three or four days were spent in the trusty company of true Scouse, playing continuously day and night until a satisfactory result was obtained. The band arrived well drilled from endless rehearsals and gigs, prepared to burst into life, ready to perform, ready for action. It was easy, really. The hard bit was every moment in life leading up to these days that culminated in the creation of this music, from birth to re-birth, to reincarnation, a beatification, an epiphany. Back home in Manchester... lots of mixing, trying to make sense of unmarked reels of 1/4" recording tape. Working again with substandard electronic gear, most of which was procured by dubious means. Mastering the songs to cassette, those were the days. Only 8 copies of the final mixes were ever made in its original form. If you say you have one of these, you are a liar. My cassette box is empty, the tape long gone. Lord only knows where the rest ended up. Probably in 8 different carrier bags in 8 different locations around the UK. What a legacy lost. Only copies of copies survive. The entirety of the session will probably never be heard and missing gems include the following songs: 'Heaven Knows', 'Must Be The Music', 'Coming On Strong', and 'Lock All The Doors'. 'Married With Children' and 'D'Yer Wanna Be A Spaceman' for a fact were recorded and mixed in my bedroom studio, untouched for final production. I know this because I was the only person there to witness it. I always thought this business to be a chancer's paradise, where enthusiasm and self belief could take you to places that previously seemed impossible, could take you anywhere you wanted to be, could change your life and the world around it. If you truly believe it can happen, it more than likely will happen. End Of. MARK COYLE Some years later, somewhere in the North West of England Photos aren't the best but I was in a bit of a rush.

Heaven Knows is mentioned by Paolo Hewitt in his book Getting High: The Adventures of Oasis... as a Real People song which Oasis recorded during their three-month recording session with the Realies in Liverpool. Would live to hear it... probably will turn up in time for the 30th anniversary reissue

Awwh dammit! Thanks for the info G & T! I think all the demos (bar Bring it on Down) will be available digitally elsewhere in the deluxe reissue (on CDs 2 & 3) so there's only one track unique to the cassette that needs ripping. Weirdly, Bring it on Down (Live) is the only b-side missing from the set, perhaps due to the track's length. Hope this helps.
