NL4E, that's some embarrassing shit you've got going on there. I don't agree with everything Guigs says but if he says he doesn't believe what Noel is saying, using things Noel said aren't going to convince him otherwise. You're spazzing out hard here. It's best to ignore that kid. He's got a reputation among Oasis boards, and it's not a positive one. I'm surprised he let go of Noel's nuts long enough to make that post.

No idea what you are complaining about. I countered what Guigs said with my opinion. I guess that's not allowed on a message board.

Liam is going to lose this fight. He doesn't have good standing with the Law to begin with.

What are you guys saying? Liam is a model of professional behavior! He had a reputation that was beyond reproach before the damning accusations of his brother!
It's not like he has ever pulled out of gigs last minute to go drinking in the balcony. It's not like he has ever arrived on stage almost too drunk to perform or function. It's not like he didn't do soundchecks nominally to protect his voice and then later claimed that he knew all along that the reason that he sounded shit was because of the stage volumes but did shit all to fix it. It's not like he ditched out on a recording session to fly back home without clearing it with the band. It's not like he ever tried to spit @ the audience on a televised event. It's not like when accepting an award for his defunct band he made a point to thank everyone involved in that album except for the lead guitarist/songwriter/coproducer.
He has been a model of fairness and professionalism! Give me a break!
If this is for publicity @ all it's to drum up publicity for a waning Beady Eye not to promote Noel. He's trying to ride Noel's coattails.
Getting insulted that anyone thought that anyone could have possibly have thought that alcohol had anything to do with his having the bail on a festival when he knows he was out drinking late into the night. Give me a break!
Now he's being juvenile in Q and shitting on Noel's stage name.
I realize that he is trying to prove that he is a mature musician who deserves respect. He has been doing great with BDI so far. But he is undoing all of the good will amazingly quickly.
Noel hasn't been derogatory towards Liam about anything that BDI have done. And Liam is being a pussy about Noel and trying to hog the spotlight.
When Liam put out the name Beady Eye and everyone was shitting on him Noel said nothing. In fact when someone incorrectly quoted him he moved quickly to quash the report. When they put out that BTL taster and the fanbase reacted strongly enough that Alan McGee came out saying the fans should back off Noel said nothing. When Liam was going on about Noel having started the fight and premeditated the split that night Noel said nothing. When Liam came out slamming Noel saying that he intentionally sabotaged Oasis by keeping back songs Noel said nothing. When Liam came out saying that Noel sabotage HIM by intentionally making the stage volume too high Noel said nothing. When Liam said that Noel's music would be boring Noel said nothing.
AND Noel has hardly said anything in weeks about LAG despite having done several interview and nothing he has said has been negative. Even when a presenter tried to bring up the point of Noel's tour having sold out quicker than BDI's he didn't even hesitate to qualify that it was only because the BDI tour had been bigger. He could have taken the bait but didn't
All this shit about the V festival had disappeared from the press a couple weeks ago. And NOW he is dragging it even further into the spotlight despite knowing that there were pictures of him with beer in his hands in the wee hours of the morning the AM of the cancellation? FFS...he should have let the story stay dead. That part of Noel's story caused barely a stir as it had been a common opinion anyways @ the time. Now it's causing a stir though
Congrats on making absolutely everyone look like even more of a dick.
Oh...and bullshit to the assertion that Liam has been taking equal blame for the split with Noel this whole time. He is on record as saying that he thinks the band ended had nothing to do with the fight and was all because Noel wanted to become a solo artist. That Noel had been planning to leave since the DOYS recording sessions. That Noel, in fact, started the fight that night for the purpose of leaving and Liam was just a poor and bewildered pawn to the evil machination of the clever and devious Noel Gallagher.
Bullshit, I say. Bullshit.

Him splitting up Oasis 2 days before the ending of the tour, on a "normal" fight (it's not that they've never had a fight like that before) could make Liam feel this way. I wonder if Liam would've agreed on a 5 year hiatus. I've heard interviews of him completely dissing that idea, but I've also heard him saying: "Maybe he (Noel) should just go on and do his little solo thing, I dunno..." :s

Even if Liam wins this, the judge might decide to award him £1 or something. While he may be able to prove that he had laryngitis (self inflicted or not), he doesn't have a reputation as a pro to damage. He's infamous for selfish behaviour and drunkenness. Nobody believed him even before Noel spoke.

Right, onto more entertaining matters than amateur legal analyses.
Will Noel and Liam have to attend any court hearing - and if so, on the same day? Will Noel have to give evidence to Liam's barrister as Our Kid looks on?
Will Marcus Russell lose even more hair as he tries to manage both sides of a Gallagher explosion?
Will the WAGs show up?
Will Liam enter the courtroom to Ain't Got Nothing? Will Liam actually use the lyrics of Cigarettes & Alcohol to prove the rock & roll necessities of a can of Guinness in a Staffordshire field at 3am?
And...
Who is Liam's doctor?
Dr No? Dr Phil? Dr fookin' Evil?!!
The case continues!

When you're as rich as the Gallagher brothers you don't sue each other for money, Liam would take "clearing his name" that I'm pretty sure of. Either way I wish they'd just both shut up about it all, would "we had a fight, now we don't talk" really have been that difficult for either of them? It's like watching your parents go through a messy divorce.

I've heard interviews of him completely dissing that idea, but I've also heard him saying: "Maybe he (Noel) should just go on and do his little solo thing, I dunno..." :s Liam was also on record saying that if they anyone was going do their own thing then they might as well split up. I think that is more likely his true opinion than that he'd accept Noel doing something alone and then coming back. Just look at the level of disdain and bile he is spewing since Noel started promo. And the fact is that Noel never before the split OR after the split has said e desired to GO SOLO. He talked about it on the 2005 web interview. About the fact that people insisted on freaking out and replacing the word album with career. Noel wanted to do a single solo album. After giving 15 years almost exclusively to Oasis you think that a single album would have been above and beyond any possible toleration? And we know for a fact this wasn't a normal fight. It may have been normal in the mid-90's when they were both young and or drugs. But everyone agreed and said before the split that the Gallagher's weren't violent in their disagreements in recent years. There were no rumors or stories of violence since the split in 2000 I think. Liam said that it was a normal fight. Noel said that Liam tried to hit him with a guitar. Liam admits he tried and that he also trashed one of Noel's guitars. It's something both brothers agree on. If Noel says that wasn't an average fight I am prepared to believe him. I don't think that the Gallaghers have been in the habit of beating at each other with weapons for years

Now that those pictures are out there he could produce a note from every doctors in the London metropolitan area, and a record of hospital stay beginning the afternoon of the 29th and people will still think he had been unprofessional. He might be able to get a token apology from Noel but he'll know and everyone else will know Noel doesn't means it and it'll be worth less than the paper it's written on to pretty much everyone. I just don't know what he is expecting to prove? If he is hoping for a massive shift in public opinion he picked the wrong hill to die on!

"Chronic laryngitis can be caused by heavy smoking, excessive use of alcohol, or acid reflux (gastroesophageal reflux disease or GERD), caused when stomach acid backs up into the esophagus."
Liam isn't fooling me. What a petty thing to lie about.

It doesn't really matter if Liam was pictured with beer in his hands, or how he got laryngitis, but the point of contention is that he had laryngitis and could not perform. Noel came out and said he had a hangover which totally skews the public's perception of Liam.
What did most of you expect Liam to do in the evening? Go home and read a book? According to the accounts of that night the rest of the band was out with him, so it was not as if he was up to no good on his own.
Not being able to perform because of hangover, and not being able to perform because of laryngitis are completely different things.
Also, I'm not going to argue the semantics of Noel's comments over the years about going solo because those are up for interpretation by the reader. The way I personally took them was that he was bored of the band and wanted to do his own thing, and be in total control. With everyone in the band writing songs at the time I'm sure it was difficult for him to lose the majority voice that he would have had in the Bonehead, Guigsy days.
The constant comments of, "we're probably done after the next album" or whining about long tours, playing gigs with his back to the audience probably adds to my dislike of Noel's attitude during the last few years of the band.
From Liam's statement:
From comments Liam has made, it does sound like he has tried to talk to Noel, but Noel is the one not responding to him. So those complaining that Liam is dragging this on should take their fanboy hats off and realize that Noel isn't the saint that you make him out to be, but rather can me a stubborn miserable sod at times.

I don't see Noel suing Liam based on a complete falsehood. Even you diehard Liam fans knew deep down what was up when you heard the V festival gig was cancelled because of Liam's 'laryngitis'. I don't care if he has a doctor's note or not. Even if he legitimately had laryngitis, we all know what it was caused from. Then to turn around and sue his brother for only pointing out the truth of this situation... yeah, he's a knobhead.

Well those that insist that Liam is telling the truth and Noel is a master puppeteer are just as deluded as anyone on the other side. Probably more so because Liam doesn't even have to back it up with anything resembling logic or even information about the at all. All he has to say Noel is a liar and people jump on Noel's back for being a manipulative bastard. He doesn't even give Noel a story to contridict but STILL some people believe him. What...do people think him too thick to engage in manipulation? There are pictures of him out drinking in the early morning of the cancellation and people are STILL hopping mad that Noel would have ever insinuated that it could possibly have had anything to do with alcohol and that anyone could even believe him.
Give me a break. If people were drinking with him at 3am the morning of the cancellation it's perfectly plausible that he could have been hungover the next day. He may also have had laryngitis but the idea that Noel thought that he had a hangover is hardly outlandish. Give Noel a break.
Noel has given his version of events and so far nothing has been proven to have been outlandish.
The 2 things that Andy and Liam have said weren't true was A) that the last argument was about PG which Noel never said and B) that the cancellation had anything to do with a hangover...and there are pictures of Liam boozing it up into the early morning.
I believe that Liam had a laryngitis, probably self inflicted. But I also would discount Liam also having had an accompanying hangover.
Noel shouldn't have said that it was a hangover that caused the cancellation. Really...it would has been bad enough to insinuate that Liam gave himself laryngitis with no thought to his responsibilities as a singer in a rock band with people relying on them.

You know what? YES I expect Liam to go home and read a book if those are the only choices. People can't have it both ways. Noel being a control freak who didn't let anyone have their way or compromise AND that he was itching to get out because he didn't have enough control. The fact it that Liam is trying to prove his professionalism with this lawsuit. But you know what? It isn't any more professional to go out drinking the night before a gig and give yourself laryngitis causing a cancellation than it is to go out drinking and cancel for a hangover. It's a six of one, half a dozen of another You know what? It does suck being a vocalist. You have to take care of you voice and baby it sometimes. You can't be as wild as you want and expect to preform. The guitarist can go out and get slammed and still preform with his hangover and sore throat the next day. The singer can't. Tough shit, mate. Live with it. And Liam is living with it now. He has change his lifestyle and put some effort in. But he didn't do the same for Oasis. You don't think that didn't piss Noel off? Noel gave more time and effort to that band than ANYONE by miles! The fact that anyone would think to question Noel's commitment to that band compared to LAG's us patently absurd. He is probably sadder about losing Oasis than all the rest of them put together. Maybe Noel was just sick of being the only one that gave a shit? Liam didn't care to take care of his voice or stay for recordings or soundcheck. Andy apparently viewed himself as a session musician. As for others in the band being out with him? Maybe that ties into his assertion of lack of support? Noel went home that night. He probably Mentioned Liam or maybe everyone shouldn't be out too late getting wasted and the other band members whoever they were agree to go out and tie one on with Liam. Maybe he expected the rest of the band to agree with him and tell Liam, "nah mate, we gotta get home, another gig tomorrow. Maybe you should have an earlyish night too?"

Really...it would has been bad enough to insinuate that Liam gave himself laryngitis with no thought to his responsibilities as a single in a rock band people people relying on them. k+ There are some people on this board who do want to have it both ways. Noel's a control freak, and controlled every little aspect of the band, and held them prisoner, yet somehow he wanted to leave because he didn't have enough control. Same as with people's perception of Liam and Noel. When DGSS came out, all anyone was talking about was how Liam was smarter than people took him to be. Yet now, there are the same people who are trying to sell him as being thick. So he's only smart when you want him to be? People are treating Liam like he's the biggest victim in the world. And big bad Noel is a "manipulative bastard", who, out smarts, and out dodges Liam. And poor Liam is always being picked on by Noel. And now Noel has started his revenge by trashing everything BDI has done, when in fact Noel hasn't trashed BDI. Liam is not defenseless, I think he proved that that night. So stop treating him like he is. And people need to stop treating Noel as if he's had all this planned out, and that step by step, he would regain power and revenge against all his foes. This isn't the Counte of Monte Cristo. People are starting to percieve Noel as a caricature. As if he's some evil Bond villian, who has been playing with the world and the people around him. And the he's a "manulative bastard" thing, just takes away from people's credibility. It can't be proven (nor can be disproven probably). So there's no reason to bring it up as piece of anyone's argument. Also the "everybody believes Noel, but they never believe Liam" thing is also annoying. Anyone who uses that as a part of their argument just sounds a five year old kid. I don't believe either one of them and I think that both of them are liars, but the facts remains that all Liam or Andy have offered up have been "Noel is a complete liar". Okay? Do they have anything else? I'm not asking for solid details. Just give me a story. A few series of events, a timeline, chart, something.
