lol, from that NME article:
And as the set draws to an end, there’s only one way he can possibly end it.
“You’ve come all this way and I’ve come all this way”, a triumphant Liam tells the crowd.
“I’m gonna do that Wonderwall shit”.

So I listened to Humbug and SIAS today for the first time since god knows when. Gotta say SIAS was a more enjoyable listen overall. Humbug felt a bit dull at times, although it might have the best track of the two albums imo tbh (Dance Little Liar).

Btw did you see that acoustic session they did in Germany? Fuck me that was brilliant, especially Kalopsia and Villains of Circumstance which to me was better than the album version

So here's how I'm thinking about this album right now Bangers: Feet Don't Fail Me The Way You Used To Do The Evil Has Landed Weird in a very very cool way: Domesticated Animals Head Like a Haunted House Beautiful songs: Fortress Villains of Circumstance Meh: Un-reborn Again Hideaway So the only songs I can't say I like so far are under 'meh'. I don't think they are bad songs, they don't really take away anything from the album but I don't feel like they add much either. And I gotta say Domesticated Animals has become a favourite along with Fortress after I used headphones to listen to the album. Quite an experience tbh. I had the same meh-feelng about Un-Reborn Again the first few listens, but then the chorus(or choruses) stopped feeling so misplaced, and that made me able to start embracing the track instead. So where would you rank Villains in QOTSAS discography? I'd say it's in my top 3 along with Like Clockwork and SFTD. I'm not really qualified to rank their records though because I've listened to the first two only once I think and have never felt compelled to go back to them. LTP and EV have some great tunes but overall are very inconsistent imo.

Glasto 94 trumps all else. Perfect mix of retro and modern, not overdone or self-conscious. Tossup between that and Maine Road imo tbh

So it will be like the one he did with Oasis back in 1997? Maybe without the stupid Mario Brothers caps this time though. It'd actually be hilarious if he did it with that cap again lmao

I've always questioned why most of them never talked; band and crew members had to have an idea about what went on.. even Liam kinda kept quiet about it. IMO, Noel was so worshipped by the press and fans, that no one cared for the truth.. it was easier to blame Liam for everything. LG gave this interview, but I think no one (press) really cared about his story. It's all very odd. I think Andy spoke up because Noel was trashing him so much and he didn't need Noel.. I forgot about this one, so according to Liam the fight was about Noel being rude to people that had been working for them for years and Liam said something about it. It's vague isn't it? Neither of them have ever been clear on what actually went down. We've heard: - Pretty Green promo in Oasis - Liam cancelling Vfest - Breaking each others gear - Noel wanting to go solo - Liam calling Noel out on his treatment to crew You know what, maybe it's all of the above.. There's also Noel's pals from the press hanging out backstage

Spoilers! Why the fuck didn't Daenerys dracarys the shit out of the Night King instead of just standing there waiting for everyone to hop on the dragon? Why the fuck didn't the Night King kill Drogon instead of that other dragon? A lot of things didn't make sense in hindsight. Also the "Dany" bit at the end was cringy as fuck. I'll have to rewatch it but the more I think about the episode the less I like it. This show is shit for years now. I stopped complaining long time ago. I am watching GOT still because it would be stupid to stop now after all this years and it can be very fun if you don't think too much about it. Don't try to make sense of it. It was quality show now it's entertaining show. This, pretty much. Way too much fuckin fan service these days tbh not mention the all the nonsense shit that happens conveniently just to get the plot going

1. RHCP - 2016 2. Arctic Monkeys - 2014 3. David Gilmour - 2015
4. QOTSA - 2014
First 3 gigs were all great really. RHCP was in Amsterdam and I was off my fuckin tits, mad fer it. Got real close to the stage too. The QOTSA gig was ruined by the venue, it was total shite. Terrible acoustics, insane lines for everything, could barely move. Didn't help that I wasn't drunk and the band got on stage like an hour and a half late. My back was fuckin killing me at that point.

So far all the studio versions of songs have been much better than the live versions despite Liam's brilliant performances, that bodes well for the album imo. I can see Bold sounding much better with falsetto in the chorus and dark production like on BOADC, the only exception I've heard so far is Greedy Soul, if the clip we've heard is the album version, the full band version with horns at Glastonbury is fucking monstrous! I fucking love that version of Greedy Soul, in fact before that performance I was pretty meh on it tbh. If the album version doesn't have those horns it'll be a shame really

I hate the revamped versions. The phrasing is jarring (listen to the crowd singing along to Wonderwall with the traditional vocal melody, and see how he catches them off-base with his changed phrasing). It's such a wanky thing to do, usually by veteran singers who think they're making their classics fresh again. "The song you've been waiting all night to hear? Yeah, let's do it differently!" It's not as bad as Adam Duritz ruining "Mr. Jones" at Counting Crows shows (seriously, look that shit up), but it's not too far behind. No, Noel shouldn't try to imitate Liam, but let's not pretend he didn't do brilliant solo versions of these songs whenever Liam bailed on a show. At 50, he still has his golden voice, so there's no need to dad-rock his classics up. Couldn't agree more. I'd be fuckin pissed if I went to a concert unaware and he pulled this kind of shit. As if the fact he's supporting bongo's beige ass wasn't reason enough not to go see him already

Champagne Supernova and Supersonic, as they were originally recorded, are totally Liam songs, that's it. One of the main reasons why they're so incredibly good on the record is because Liam's vocals are just insane on them, they were clearly written with Liam in mind. Only '90s Liam could do them justice. And Noel is perfectly aware of this, I believe. That also explains why he doesn't sing Live Forever, for example. By changing the arrangements he avoids any useless comparison: they're different songs now and they convey different feelings. To be honest, a 50 years-old Noel trying to do his best Liam impression on a loud, rocking version of Champagne Supernova would be just wrong. Personally, I really like Noel's arrangements of both Champagne Supernova and Supersonic. My only complaint is that he's played them so many times during the tours that they've become a bit stale. You can add Sad Song and Listen Up tot he list, although he hasn't played those that much to be fair. And the new-ish version of Wonderwall, which still retains some things of the Ryan Adams version but it's a lot more similar to the album take, is excellent in my opinion. I get what you're saying and I would never want Noel trying to do a Liam impersonation as you said but I'm sure there's a middle ground between that and this version. With something as great as CS you don't need to try to re-invent the wheel I mean to each their own but the song is barely recognizble here to me
