It's on iPlayer? Soul love. Yeah, you can watch all the sets from Reading, but they cut out FWIW on Liams. I couldn't find Liam's set tbh

www.google.com/amp/www.telegraph.co.uk/music/concerts/liam-gallagher-reading-festival-reviewhe-sauntered-onstage/amp/ years ago in 1997, Cool Britannia was at its peak and Oasis had just released Be Here Now. In 2009, the tempestuous relationship between the Gallagher brothers finished the band for good. Today, Liam Gallagher is more likely to appear in the paper slagging off his brother Noel rather than rival britpop band Blur. The Oasis back catalogue meanwhile was resigned to the GCSE curriculum years ago. In a funny way, then, it seems rather fitting that most of the punters at Reading festival are either celebrating or commiserating results. Liam Gallagher clad in his classic black parka despite the heat Liam Gallagher clad in his classic black parka despite the heat CREDIT: CHIAKI NOZU/WIREIMAGE It's only recently that Liam has returned to the music scene — he's acknowledged his own out of sync knowledge by referring to “Whatsapp Ricky”. Beady Eye, his band with the remaining Oasis members, disbanded in 2014 and never quite achieved the same profile as rival Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds. After three years on the periphery, Liam is now doing what he vehemently promised he'd never do, and embarking on a solo career. Maybe if Noel was prepared to do the same amount of backtracking, an Oasis reunion would be on the cards. Before he swaggered onstage, one had to wonder what Liam would actually play. So far, the erstwhile Mancunian has only released three songs. Luckily for the crowd, he fell back on some Oasis stalwarts. Gallagher opened to the supersonic riff of Rock n Roll Star, leading into a further handful of the band’s hits before landing on his surprisingly well received solo track, Wall of Glass. His manner and wardrobe have changed little since his heyday: he held his arms behind his back, clad in a black parka in spite of the blistering bank holiday heat. Gallagher obnoxiously shook a pair of flesh coloured maracas — the closest thing to peacocking with his own testicles out. He sauntered onstage with the swagger of a man gunning for a 2am taxi rank fight — and if felt completely natural. Behind him, the drum kit was emblazoned with his Twitter catchphrase: “as you were”. John Bradley-West from Game of Thrones watches Liam Gallagher perform at Reading Festival John Bradley-West from Game of Thrones watches Liam Gallagher perform at Reading Festival CREDIT: ROB BALL/GETTY For most of the festival, the supposed big name headliners, particularly Kasabian, have been outshone by the special guests of more current acts such as Giggs — who had welcomed Canadian superstar Drake on the main stage just hours beforehand. Even Lethal Bizzles’s modest slot of mid-afternoon on Friday featured appearances from current champions of Grime, Skepta and Stomzy. One can't help but feel the festival organisers might need to accept that Reading and Leeds is fast losing its rock image and is firmly a festival for 15-18 year olds. Still, Oasis’ legendary status in the history of British music earned the attention and respect of the crowd. Particularly in the encore of campfire classic Wonderwall. While there were some definite lulls during lesser-known material, the reception of Oasis’ big hits, coupled with the songs’ delivery proved that Gallagher’s pedigree more than qualified him for a place on the main stage. Even if he wasn't quite the main event. Uh, were they even at the damn show?! The crowd was completely down for it. Black parka? Jesus. From me and Liam to The Telegraph 🖕 Yeah it also said he played a handful of oasis songs before playing WoG. Fuckin nobheads

Which one was the one he played in that pub in Canada? When I'm in need or I've all I need? Anyway, that one and greedy soul, although after today's performance I gotta say I'm intrigued to see how bold is gonna sound on the album tbh The song in Canada was Eh La, I'm also looking forward to hearing that one. Its hard to choose only 2 because I honestly think every single song is going to be amazing. Even oasis albums in my opinion always had a few shit songs. This is going to be huge I just hope it gets received well by critics No he also did When I'm in Need, found it on yt

He should have hired better songwriters to write his songs. People who actually classic albums. I know I'm dreaming but, why not Neil Young ? Michael Head ? Lee Mavers ? Gaz Coombes ? I'd love Paul Weller to write for him. He's still on great form, and he's given a song to Olly Murs and co-written with a little known soul band called Stone Foundation, as well as some other acts, so it's not like he's someone who just hordes his songs for himself. He doesn't mind dishing them out. And heaven knows Liam could do with the help. Anton Newcombe from The Brian Jonestown Massacre frequently replies to Liam's tweets. It would be cool if he were to work with Liam. I know he's a mad fucker, but again, he is prolific and he is definitely talented... Weller is mates with potato, that just never going to happen.

Am I the only one who thinks Liam's voice wasn't up to scratch around the time of the Knebworth gigs? Don't get me wrong it sounded great on some songs like Columbia and Champagne Supernova but it seemed like it had massively deteriorated since the Maine road gigs earlier in the year. I'm not sure about deteriorated but it surely sounds so fuckin nasal to me. And it feels almost like he's doing that shit on purpose because his voice is still quite powerful there. It's weird. But yeah I like Maine road a lot better tbh

Noel will leave the stage for a couple of songs and let Liam in and we will have a Beady Eye reunion that way. The reunion the world has been clamoring for

Fuckin-ell I had no idea "music" videos (or any videos really) had reached the multiple billion views plateau...depressing shit I've said for years on this forum we are celebrating Noel and Liam getting like a million or 5 million views like we won the Super Bowl. Then you look at what people like Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Bieber get on youtube (hundred of millions and even fucking billions) and streaming and it makes Noel and Liam look so very very small. We live in a different age now people. I'm well aware that their numbers are a fart in the wind for the industry these days, I just had no idea it had reached those levels already. The only time I had ever heard of a music video reaching a billion views was I think Gangnam Style.. so naturally I just assumed no other video had reached that number yet

I'd say it's in my top 3 along with Like Clockwork and SFTD. I'm not really qualified to rank their records though because I've listened to the first two only once I think and have never felt compelled to go back to them. LTP and EV have some great tunes but overall are very inconsistent imo. Rated R is fantastic, you should give it more chances, it's maybe their best album. I might. Tonight even!

To me this record is their "worst" to date, but with that said I'd still give it something like 7.5/10, which probably just goes to show how much I love the rest of this band's discography. To each their own obviously BUT I can't help but think you might be underestimating this record a bit tbh. I listened to the first 3 songs of the official release today in my car (it has a pretty decent system) and Domesticated Animals melted my fuckin brain (again!). It sounds so much better than the leak tbh. Really looking forward to listening to the whole thing when I hit the road tomorrow.

+1 and I've been listening to forced to listen to Despacito everywhere for what feels like a decade Ahah yeah Despacito, what a horrendous piece of "music". When you see it has been viewed more than 3 billions times on youtube (seriously, this is fucking unreal), you just wonder if the majority of people still appreciate music... Fuckin-ell I had no idea "music" videos (or any videos really) had reached the multiple billion views plateau...depressing shit

What are your thoughts on this album? I really like his first 3 but have never ventured further than that tbh picked it up on cd at a target yesterday for $4. i rather like it. not as much as it's predecessor 'graduation' (which is my all-time favorite) but it's still good. this might be the last album he put out before he became... weird. Yeah Graduation is the shit, my favourite of the 3 too. I might give this one a try though

The only times Oasis sounded like The Beatles was at the end of She's Electric and when they used a keyboard sound similar to the one in Strawberry Fields Forever on Go Let It Out. That's pretty much it. The press started saying they were a Beatles rip off with Definitely Maybe... what on DM sounds like The Beatles? Nothing. No fucking thing... unless of course ripping the Beatles off means using guitars, a bass and a drum. Plus the Beatles' sound was greatly due to McCartney's bass playing which Guigsy couldn't have done in his wildest dreams. So that argument was and still is utter shit. Roll With It, too. The guitars, the harmonies, even the drumming is all very Beatle-y. Maybe that's why I can't bring myself to fucking like it
