Had this been the track listing for DM, I would have loved the album far more than I do.
1. Rock n Roll Star 2. Whatever 3. Live Forever 4. D'Yer Wanna be a Spaceman? 5. Fade Away 6. Supersonic 7. Cloudburst 8. Cigarettes & Alcohol 9. Listen Up 10. Slide Away 11. Half the World Away

You are not alone. I don't really get DM either. True, there are some great songs on there, but there are some very average ones too, and the less said about Shakermaker the better.
Had Listen Up, Fade Away, Whatever and Half the World Away been on there instead of a few of the dull ones like Columbia, Up in the Sky, Bring it on Down and Digsy's Dinner then I could understand the love for DM.

I wonder why Helter Skelter wasn't stuck on the Japanese Don't Go Away single, as it was recorded during the BHN sessions.
Always puzzles me, as they ended up sticking a number of B sides that had previously been released. Having this track on instead would have made that single more sought after...

I love them both, but if I had to choose then it would probably be IHITIK. And yes, I would happily see them both on the album too....

Happy Birthday to the greatest album, Oasis ever did!! There speaks a man who doesn't give two f**ks (as Weller says) about the reviews! lol good on ya Adidas, dont always agree but at least your consistent Cheers man!! I was there then, at HMV on Oxford Street, queuing to buy my copy of BHN, with TV camera crews outside filming people going in to buy the record. Happy days!!

I hate everything about it. I hate the fact it added to the 'beatles tribute band' oasis piss takers ammunition. I hate the fact it sounds so shit and forced and distracts from a nice outro. And I hate the quote itself. It should be EVERY MANS right, not just the english mans. Its the sort of quote EDL idiots get off whilst trying to out Muslims from England. It's not a dig at Muslims, or any other race. Its just Lennon being sarcastic, or did you not realise that?

Actually, the Lennon piece at the end of the best song on the album is about the only thing I really do like on DOYS. It's nice hearing his voice again, particularly on a song which sounds like a Lennon song, but I would say that, as I'm a huge Lennon fan.
And regardless of the Englishman context, yes it was a rather eerie thing to say, just before he died. It's not a dig at Muslims, or any other race. Its just Lennon being sarcastic.
This is the best sampling on an Oasis record since Fuckin in the Bushes, IMO.

It's not a bad tune, but not one of my favourites. The lyrics and statement of intent are actually stronger then the song itself.
As an opener, I prefer Hello, Go Let it Out, DYKWIM and even Hindu Times.

Broken Arrow is my second favourite HFB song. That's not a filler by any means. Anyway, we don't disagree anyway, since you prefer the worst songs on HC over anything on DOYS. Anyone who prefers the worst songs on HC over anything on DOYS is ok in my book too.

Just compare that list of songs you mentioned there, against the crap that is on DOYS. How anyone can say those selection of songs are weaker than the garbage on DOYS is beyond me. At least with DOYS, you can make a really brilliant full-length album, without having to add any subpar songs to fill the spaces in between. A brilliant full length album, without any subpar songs??? This is DOYS we are talking about, right???

Not a bad list, other than DOYS being so high on it. Swap that with HC and it would be fine. And nice to see BHN finally getting the praise it deserves.
My list goes -
Be Here Now (What's The Story) Morning Glory? Definitely Maybe Heathen Chemistry Standing on the Shoulder of Giants Dont' Believe The Truth
Dig Out Your Soul

A brilliant song, probably the best thing from that album. Shame it didn't make an appearance on the album itself, or as a B side.
Typical Noel - pissing away the decent songs and instead sticking on shite like Soldier Boys and Jesus Freaks, Broken Arrow and (Stranded On) The Wrong Beach.
They have to be the 3 most obvious songs that define the phrase `album fillers', if you ever needed it.

I don't even consider Heathen Chemistry an album. I agree. It would've been better off as an 8 track EP of some sort with The Hindu Times, Shout it Out Loud, Hung in a Bad Place (very underrated song imo, btw), Stop Crying Your Heart Out, Songbird, Little by Little, Thank You for the Good Times, and Born on a Different Cloud on it, with Idler's Dream as a hidden track after 5 minutes, instead of the pointless 30 minute wait we got, just to hear and even more pointless song in the form of The Cage. Just compare that list of songs you mentioned there, against the crap that is on DOYS. How anyone can say those selection of songs are weaker than the garbage on DOYS is beyond me.

No one likes this record? Speak for yourself. Am I right, that you're a fan of the newer Oasis generation? I'm shure 98% of the fans, who bought for example WTSMG or BHN at the date of release, don't like DOYS... Yes, I'm over 30, and love the first 3 albums. I also like a few songs and B sides from both SOTSOG and HC, but I really don't care for anything from DBTT, and other than the 3 singles from DOYS, the rest of the album is total barrel-scraping, despicable, gutter trash. Comparing DOYS with anything from the first 3 albums is like comparing One Direction to The Beatles.

NOONE likes this record. Some very hardcore Oasis fans. DOYS is not that easy listening for what I love Oasis. I listened to DOYS complete once. Then I listened to some songs of it like the turning, tsotl, outta time. Without this record, my world would be the same... No one likes this record? Speak for yourself. I think you'll find there is more than just 1 person who doesn't like the record....

Making a list of the songs I like after BHN (not including B sides) it has to be - 1. Fuckin in the Bushes 2. Go Let It Out 3. Sunday Morning Call 4. Little by Little 5. Stop Crying Your Heart Out 6. Hindu Times 7. Song Bird 8. I'm Outta Time 9. Shock of the Lightening 10. Falling Down That would be a half decent album worthy of a follow-up after BHN. But considering this list has been compiled from 4 albums, it shows how much Noel ran out of steam after BHN. You've got to find a place for Gas Panic! Spot on otherwise Yes, forgot about Gas Panic. Stick that on instead of Songbird.

No chance they are better than these. Round Are Way Underneath The Sky The Masterplan Talk Tonight Acquiesce Headshrinker Rockin Chair When you look at those two posts together, it becomes exceedingly clear just how fucking good Oasis are. Or how good they were, until the year 2000.

Again, I just don't see this. Hindu Times, Stop Crying Your Heart Out, Songbird, Little by Little, Better Man and Hung in a Bad Place are far better than most of the songs on SOTSOG, DOYS and DBTT. And the B sides for this period are far better than anything else post BHN too. DOYS has to be lowest point in Oasis history. With the exception of the 3 singles, the rest of the album is utter garbage, with no decent B sides from this period either. Little by Little, Stop Crying Your Heart Out, Hindu Times, and Song Bid. The rest are either mediocre or awful. Bag It Up, The Turning, Waiting for the Rapture, The Shock of the Lightning, I'm Outta Time, and Falling Down. How can you complain about any of that? I love I'm Outta Time, and I think Falling Down and SOTL are good, solid songs. But the rest I just can't stand. I feel about them songs the way you feel about HC's songs. The first half of the album is just ok, but the second half has to be the worst set of Oasis songs in their history (with the exception of FD.)

HC is a minion of hell sent here to destroy our love for Oasis. 45mins of torture containing 6 of their worst songs on one disk as well as 4 mediocre ones. SMOKIING ALL MY STASH! Fuck off! I legit laughed at this. It would be funny if it weren't so bleeding tragically true! Again, I just don't see this. Hindu Times, Stop Crying Your Heart Out, Songbird, Little by Little, Better Man and Hung in a Bad Place are far better than most of the songs on SOTSOG, DOYS and DBTT. I'm going with HC.
I realise its not the popular choice on here, but SOTSOG only has 3 tracks I like, and there isn't anything I really like on DBTT, and DOYS only has the 3 singles which I like.
Oasis Mk1 was in a different league altogether.

Easy this. 1. The Fame 2. I got the Fever 3. Going Nowhere 4. Round Are Way 5. Stay Young 6. Step Out 7. It's Better People 8. (You've Got) The Heart Of A Star Going Nowhere and Stay Young are both on The Masterplan. Not so easy. Oops! Embarrassing.... Edited.
