Honestly...
FITB < Hello GLIO > Roll With It WFL < Wonderwall PYMWYMI < DLBIA Little James < Hey Now! Gas Panic! > Some Might Say WDIAGW? < Cast No Shadow SMC < She's Electric ICSAL < Morning Glory Roll It Over < Champagne Supernova
So not even close. But Go Let It Out and Gas Panic! win considerably. Still, 8-2 isn't very close.

I think its absolutely crap and pointless, and agree its a wasted opportunity, but an opportunity to put a better song on the album[/quote Pity Liam fucked off during the recording sessions then. His marriage to the love of his life was far more important. When you ditch the blow-up sex dolls and get a girlfriend, you might understand that. Maybe when you grow up you'll learn that such a move is very self-involved and childish. There is 0% chance there would've been a problem if Liam told them months in advance that he wanted to leave by *insert date here*. This way, he's being responsible and letting them know so they can schedule the recording times as needed. Pity you're too far up Liam's ass to realize that.

But seriously, you don't think he'd have a better idea than we do? He was...there, ya know.

As if the ego wasn't big enough on this guy already, he gets 5 star reviews across the board.

I typically just save my money for buying albums. Only went to one show this year, The Gaslight Anthem. They were really fucking good, though (as always).

I don't think they have cleared out their backlog in 1 album. Liam has been writing songs for over 10 years (not including his short go @ writing before Noel joined Oasis). Andy and Gem probably more like 20 years. This is a new band...but they aren't new artists. They don't have to follow the same direction as a young debuting band. I think that the second album will be almost more important than the first. To see if they can grow without losing the magic. That is assuming there is magic in the first album...but lets not count our chickens before they hatch. Of course we can assume they've collectively got more than 13 songs in their pockets, but one can only assume these are the best they've got stored up. To say otherwise is pure guesswork. So they may end up "pulling a Vines" (not writing any new songs for the second album) but I question the intelligence of such a move.

^ To clear up matters, the writer clearly says that they're looking at each other as if to say "has he heard it?" and then goes on to say they conclude he hasn't.

^ I'm more sick of it because it's laughable, the whole concept. It's 10 damn seconds. 10 seconds does not constitute a song. Who even knows if he wrote the rest? I don't even care if he did or didn't.

The obsession is beyond bizarre, I agree. I can't think of any 15 second clip of music that would get me as excited as Show Me Your Love does for some people on here. And that particular clip is nothing special, anyway.

Better than morning glory? Whatever you're smoking pass it on. If you're going to attempt biting remarks, may as well quote him correctly. He said "rival" Morning Glory, nothing about it being better.

The Beatles Rock Band haha I just fucking love the Beatles so much. And hopefully a bit of luck for my band in the new year.

^ Well, I don't hate Bring The Light, actually. It's okay, it's just nowhere near the top 50 songs (or top 100/500/etc.) of the year for me. Just because there's so much great music out there that something so mediocre can't compete with brilliant songs like Licenses To Hide by The Posies, as one example.

Fucking awesome band. They get better as they go, in my opinion (excepting this year's album, Heaven Is Whenever). I'd rank the albums like this:
Boys And Girls In America > Stay Positive > Heaven Is Whenever > Separation Sunday > Almost Killed Me
Yeah, they're a band you can get lost in, because of the depth and cleverness of the lyrics.

I hate the word filler, so I'll just call it a very skip-worthy track. Very plodding and goes absolutely nowhere.

^ The worst thing about Oasis was the attitude, so that does nothing for me. No idea about the band in question, but I feel I need to comment on the above quote: The attitude is what makes Oasis work. The attitude gives the songs credence. Absolutely not. You couldn't be more wrong. Noel's talent and Liam's voice (especially early on) gave the band its special quality. Them acting like children in interviews did not. Was it entertaining? Of course. I'd be a fucking liar if I said I didn't enjoy watching their interviews. But I think it hurt them in the long run. I know people who like them, but will focus on them being "dicks, gits, pricks, twats, etc." That's their words, not mine. So don't jump on me for it.

I can't fault his vocals, and can only praise what I have heard of him so far from these clips - especially on For Anyone where he sounds beyond monumental. He sounds good, yeah, but let's not get carried away. We only think he sounds that good because he's sounded so bad for so long.

^ That's a strange post, man. If everyone could just realize they were releasing a shit album, there would never be shit albums, would there? The problem is musicians are so involved with every step of the creative process that they have no perspective on the quality of the work. That's why you get weird statements from Noel about Stop the Clocks being his best song. It's impossible to be objective about one's own songs.

^ That. I personally skimmed through them because I don't want to get things spoiled, but how anyone is saying "this is a great tune" or "this sounds like filler" is beyond me. I know what iTunes 30 second previews sound like, and they tend to not give a full picture of what the song is like, good or bad.

^ Nah, that was much more of a Beatlesque ballad than an anthem. Lyla would be the last of that sort.
And I'm glad the boys aren't trying to ape DLBIA or Little By Little. What nonsense that would be. Good on them for writing their own stuff the way they want to.

I was really curious to hear how Liam sounded, not so much the songs, so I quickly whipped through the clips, not stopping on any song long enough to get a sense of the song so it won't ruin the experience for me.
I have to say I'm glad Liam has changed his vocal approach. He's basically put his vocal cords through the fucking ringer for so long that he's lost so much depth in his voice. Singing a bit higher and more through the nose is a better option for me than barking out the lyrics.

Overrated:
Cigarettes & Alcohol Roll With It
Both are 'eh' songs that somehow were singles.
Underrated:
Rockin' Chair Listen Up Hello She's Electric I Hope, I Think, I Know Keep The Dream Alive Let There Be Love
And most of all...
Underneath The Sky
