I've been listening to it on repeat for hours. It really touches me - cheesy lyrics or not, it does resonate..I was not able to go home to see family and my best friends for over a year now, instead I am thousands of kilometers and multiple time zones away. The vibe of the song gives me really emotional feelings, in a hopeful, melancholic way. Especially the "Life is a trip that you don't take twice" line, maybe cause I'm questioning my work/life choice so far away from home really in-depth since the pandemic started and bonds to home are certainly not getting stronger by being away for years...
Anyway, I love the track and a salute to Noel, for putting this out there during this time.

Love it - better than the studio recording. Nice guitar sound, soothing in a good way.

I'd love to see him work with Kevin Parker of Tame Impala or some sort of rock songwriter and producer he can collaborate with. I would find Dan Auerbach pretty interesting.

Charlotte released a cover song from her upcoming EP (out tomorrow) that Noel contributed to - she posted about it on her Instagram. You can hear him at the end of the track. I guess the guitar noodling in the background might be him? Maybe the whole acoustic guitar too? The EP is the first one of three to be released by Charlotte. I hope her cover of "The Right Stuff" is on one of the other two as the tracklist for this first EP called "Fourteen Years" is this: 1. Fourteen Years 2. Mind Contorted 3. M.R.I. Song 4. Planet Ping Pong Ysee did The Right Stuff. I think Charlotte did Alone on The Rope ah yes, right! I Ysee‘s The Right Stuff out actually?

Nice idea, but doesn't go well with Wonderwall, I think. Just a Day from Feeder is just unbeaten with such lip sync videos.

I Can See a Liar (Rock Mix)Trip Inside (Be Here Now) [Mustique Demo] What's that? I never heard of this. Falling Down has this fantastic Amorphous Androgynous Remix for instance:

Nearly everyone I know who learned to play guitar knows how to play this song, regardless of age. In fact it's a running joke among people I know that the first song everyone learns to play when learning guitar is Wonderwall. None of them are Oasis fans mind you! There is always this video that comes to my mind when I hear people at parties picking up guitars and playing Wonderwall haha: The Jazz cover mentioned in the article is pretty interesting, never heard it before.

All of this music chat is far too sensible. Can we get back to arguing about skinny jeans? Arguing? I'm wearing one at this very moment.

Never watched 'The Ear has No Memory' or this but 4:25-4:35 sounds a lot like 'Flick of the Finger' which indeed was recorded by Death in Vegas in Cornwall (as 'Velvet Building'). I may be mistaken though, it maybe Mucky Fingers or something else really obvious I've forgotten! Sounds like it could be an early Flick of the Fingers. I'm trying to figure out the guitar solo Gem is playing around the 2:59 mark. Is that Keep The Dream Alive? Yes, I think it is - just sounding better than what they put on the record, more rock to it, really cool find.

I believe that is in reference to the Pompano Beach Amphitheater gig in Fort Lauderdale, FL on August 2, 2002. Liam left after Go Let It Out (complaining that his voice had gone out) and Noel did the rest of the gig. Yup this one is great. The setlist on setlist.fm Morning Glory (First time with Noel on vocals on an electric version since 1996) What was the 1996 electric version Noel did?

Kinda wish Liam was smart enough to save some copies for himself at home..would be fun to see both of them going on a "from the Oasis vault" war hahaha.

From credible sources in the booking industry in my circle, I heard that most festivals during this summer season in Europe are about to be postponed or cancelled. The reason why it hasn't happened officially yet is that there the organizers need official government instructions to justify a cancellation to make insurance claims.
But behind closed doors the cancellation plans are full on.

I also share the theory that it was held just in case oasis got back together. New version is slower, feels like it drags, and the strummy guitars make it quite Dadrock. Preferred it when it was a bit more driven. Choir definitely sounds reused from demo/DOYS version. If it IS mixed by Sardy, could this be a holdover from NGHFB? Sounds in that style. I don't think it's slower - running time is almost the same as the demo, seems like the same BPM.

Glad to hear you guys had a great time last night! About phone...what's the point to watch a gig through your phone while you're at a gig yourself? It IS nothing, but ANNOYING. I also don't get it. You guys ever went to concert that used Yondr? www.overyondr.com/ - it's a pouch and you have to put your phone in for the full gig and can only unlock it afterwards. I haven't been to one myself, but Dave Chappelle was in Bangkok recently and used it for his shown - I didn't go there though, so no experience yet. But I love the idea and it would be great if more venues adopted this, not just artists.

The people booking the gigs have to take some responsibility as does Liam, he's is well aware of what he can and can't manage after all these years. There has been and will be times when he pulls gigs because he simply isn't well and thats fair enough but he should never pull one because he's done to many. Him and those close to him who sort them out know exactly where the breaking point is. You and me and loads of others said this two years ago. This is the thing. Clearly haven't learned their lesson and at the end of the day the only people it actually damages are the fans. I don't know, you can't really plan ahead a flu or cold, can you? And it doesn't sound like he did too much singing in the video, but that he is actually suffering from illness. That can happen to everybody, it's just bad luck and coincidence it happens again so heavily that it affects a concert.

from stopcryingyourhearout www.stopcryingyourheartout.co.uk/2020/01/noel-gallagher-has-been-in-studio-with.htmlThis is interesting. Looking forward to it, hope it comes out. Good job by Noel. I never posted it but I was going to create a thread suggesting that it would be cool if Noel did solids for YSEE, Charlotte, Jess (I know they've probably already received more publicity and have benefited as well). I had thought it would be cool if at the end of the tour, for one show, he would play a Kondoors song with Jess on lead, a YSEE song with YSEE on lead, and Le Volume Courbe with Charlotte on lead. It's good to see that he's continuing the relationship an will in some way support their careers in this manner. (Wonder if Charlotte's Alone on the Rope cover will be on the EP. Unfortunately not, she responded to me on instagram to this question and said Alone on the Rope will be on EP 2.

I know I'm a bit late to the party, but this is good! Found it by chance while looking for the "Forever" compilation (By the way, what happened to Idledreamer?) Could you point me where this is still around?

The thing for me is that Noel use to be really careful about setlists and now it seems he wants to piss people off by putting the first 10 songs of his latest work. And then the rest of the gig is just Oasis classics. It's even more lazy than the usual, and pisses off every non hardcore fan. Noel constructs his setlist that way because he's the opener. He expects his hardcore fans to show up at the beginning of the set, so he plays his solo stuff. But by the end of the set, when people have arrived for U2 and it's mostly casual anyways, that's when he plays the big Oasis hits. Like how many non-hardcore fans are showing up at the beginning of Noel's set when he's opening for U2? It's not lazy. It's actually very smart. But as a hardcore fan, I would also like to hear The Right Stuff, A Simple Game of Genius, Dream On, If I Had a Gun, Lock all the Doors etc. That he is totally omitting his first two records (let aside What a Life) is at least weird, I think.

Yeah, I think I have to clarify as my pictures got misinterpreted. The ones with the few people in are AFTER the concert, I took them just to illustrate how small the venue was. From the left side barrier to the right side stage in my Panorama shot, it's probably about 100 meters only.
But for the small size it was, it was full during the concert. Still, how many people can you fit on about 500 sqm? Maybe like 1.000? The Liam concert here was much bigger. But yes, it's the promoters fault, that promoter sucks big time in Bangkok and I don't like concerts run by them. There is always something shit, e.g. for this one, they didn't allow to take beer inside the stage area. So you had to drink behind the curtain outside of the stage area and then walk in dry.

Black Star Dancing was also played. This is the full setlist: 1. Fort Knox 2. Holy Mountain 3. Keep on Reaching 4. It‘s a beautiful world 5. She taught me how to fly 6. Black star dancing 7. Rattling Rose 8. This is the place 9. Wandering Star 10. Dead in the water 11. Importance of being idle 12. Little By Little 13. Whatever 14. The Masterplan 15. Half the world away 16. Wonderwall 17. Stop Crying your heart out 18. What a life 19. Don‘t look a back in anger 20. All you need is love Besides What A Life, he really seems to abandoned his solo work from the first two LPs? Sad, there are some incredible tracks. Was also hoping he would throw in one other song for the last gig in 2020, but no...when he announced Black Star Dancing, he did the same Oasis joke ("This one is for Oasis fans"). Otherwise, he was very quiet on stage. At one point, YSEE had some kind of problem, looked technical with her in-ear or monitor and Noel paused and went over to his sound guys seemingly being quite angry at them. After 2 minutes, the show continued. Got one nice pic of Noel and two others to illustrate how small the concert was in the end, they really had big troubles with the ticket prices to sell.
