Looks like Radio 1 has it an hour before Radio X. BBC Radio 1 wednesday night at 7.30 and Radio x at 8.30? Wonder if we get the video before?

I wouldn't mind the last two and God Help Us All as b-sides for the new record or as part of a future acoustic album, but I'd be happy to never hear the first two songs on the list again. She Must Be One Of Us is a bad Dylan parody and Oh Toad is just awful. Come On Outside should be kept for an Oasis rarities compilation, it's not that amazing. If She Must Be One Of Us is officially released, I'll burn all my Oasis CDs and make a dartboard with Noel's face on it! Awful awful Dylan parody - imagine if Dylan had a lobotomy and lost all literacy skills, this would be the result. Probably his worst song ever, and that's going some when taking his drab early 2000 writing into account. Oh Lord isn't any better. In the AMA on reddit he said "She Must Be One Of Us" and "Just Let It Come Down Over Me" will be released at one point. So I guess you can starting to burn your CDs already!

Wich bits and pieces did we know of Do the Damage and The Mexican beforehand? The intro to The Mexican (Amorphous Androgynous version) is in there somewhere. Thanks, The Mexican bits sound amazing, makes one angry again that it got scrapped in that version... Anyway, off-topic. Somehow I don't buy the November 9 day yet, would have expected a proper announcement (old-fashioned) and not in a radio show just dropping it.

Well, not yet. I'm sure we will find out some song titles within a few months. I think it's rather exciting that we don't know anything yet! Of course, but my point was that, for the previous two albums, we had already heard some of the music long in advance. For NGHFB, we had the Oasis demos of Record Machine and Stop the Clocks, plus the soundcheck versions of IIHAG and EOTR and A Simple Game of Genius. Lock All The Doors had been there for years before Chasing Yesterday, and we had heard The Dying of the Light, Freaky Teeth and bits from Do The Damage and The Mexican (even though we couldn't realise). We had heard about the AA stuff and knew of the existence of "Mighty I". Assuming that Noel kept his rule of not bringing material to the studio, the canvas is fully blank for the first time. We have no idea what we're going to get. Wich bits and pieces did we know of Do the Damage and The Mexican beforehand?

The drums sound as if they were sampled. This is the only part that makes me a bit worried. Could turn into a Robbie-Williams-kind-of-song. At least the drums sound like it...

That sounds really promising, so October it is for the record, sounds reasonable.

Can you imagine mainstream radio host saying: Yeah, I've just heard new Liam Gallagher's song and it's absolute shite. This argument doesn't sit with me. If he wasn't arsed about it or thought it was mediocre why would he go out of his way to bring it up and praise the life out of it, he doesn't NEED to do that, nor does anyone else who praises it. Why is a negative spin put on everything? Well, you don't know which kind of travel incentives, concert incentives, whatever incentives the guys from the record label are promising radio hosts. I imagine there would be at least some kind of silent agreement not to speak bad about artists if not even an agreement to mention them frequently or something like that.. And usually I never put a negative spin on anything, just saying that it's usually a give-and-take between record labels and radio stations.

Do we have an updated list with all upcoming Liam gigs somewhere? The Jakarta, Manila, and now Beijing and Shenzen gig are not even listed on his official website. As far as I understand the Jakarta gig is currently also his first real main gig as a solo artist (taken festivals aside)?
I appreciate it that he is coming to (Southeast) Asia as I'm working in Bangkok since three years and gigwise it's usually shite here (but Foo Fighters are coming in August, yay!), however the gig locations seem a bit odd to me for his first steps as a solo artist.

Fuuuuuck, and again I couldn't go due to work or I call in sick. Still hoping for Bangkok if he'd really make it to Jakarta and Manila. The Manila-gig is not in his official tour dates though which I find strange. Edit: Is he supporting Foo Fighters in Seoul?! Foo Fighters are also coming to Bangkok, that'll be ace if he'd be supporting them over here too.

should we go back to the topic? i dont understand why some people think it's unnacceptable Liam playing Oasis classics. He's the singer! he doesnt have to establish himself as a songwriter. actually, I believe thats the biggest mistake he could make on his direction as a solo act. there's nothing wrong if he covers some songa on his solo record or if he co-write some of them (although I dont believe that will happen). And he HAS TO play Oasis classics. if he does that, Im sure his concerts will be a sucess on festivals and people will be interested on his solo record if he plays only the best of it live. and i'm sure a lot of people who complain now will love his concerts if he does that. Nothing wrong with him playing Oasis songs. But if it's all Oasis song's then it doesn't look good. Yeah, if it were all Oasis he should just announce an Oasis-comeback without Noel. He has to put in some own tunes.

Maybe the festivals will just include the old oasis stuff to get his name back out there, then he releases new material once he has gathered more interest. I had the same thought already. If there isn't any new music officially released by the time the festival dates start, maybe he'll just be playing 10 Oasis songs plus 1 or 2 of his own?

I saw Coldpaly last Friday in Bangkok and thought during "Up & Up" "oh this could well be an Oasis solo" just to find out today the second solo is indeed played by Noel Gallagher

To all the discussion about being "in the studio": Did nobody realize Lightening Productions worked on VIDEOS with Beady Eye and probably also Oasis? So being "in the studio" most probably means this time that he is in a film studio. Or he was filming Liam in the studio. Making some sort of video/documentary bonus thing for the making of the album or compiling footage for future video's. As i pointed out in an earlier post, the stuff in the picture is definitely from a recording studio, from the choice of microphone, to the little Aviom a-16 mixer and the acoustic treatment on the walls, there's no way that is a film set. It's definitely in a music studio, i'd bet my house on that part. When the picture was taken is anyone's guess. Yes, you are right, it's definitely recording equipment, doesn't mean that they don't shoot a music video though (whatever odd plot that may have in such a case). How about a recorded radio performance?

I think one reason for scrapping it not discussed here much and not mentioned by Noel would most probably also be that the AA record would have been unplayable live for Noel.

Holy moly, yes!!!! As I'm based in Bangkok this will be a nice occasion to go on a trip to Manila. However I'll also inform some Thai promoters I know, usually they try to get artists also to Bangkok if these artists pop up elsewhere in Southeast Asia.

I actually quite like it. It's not a patch on the track it is supposed to be, but as an instrumental filler from Oasis, I think its quite a unique track, nothing like we've heard before. I'm guessing this was a track recorded at Mustique too, but it would be nice if someone from the record label owned up to the fuck up, and finally put us out of our misery and explained what the fuck up was, and more importantly, what the fuck this replacement track actually is. Currently it has no connections, no similar sounds, or anything to the BHN track that its named as. I agree. Don´t know how to describe it but it has a very own vibe. Another reason though why I wanna know what it is and what it was meant to be. Can also totally imagine Liams voice over it. It resembles the riff in "Talk Tonite", that's why I also believe it's not from Mustique (sound quality is much more shit then the other tracks too) and that's what makes it even worse that they didn't put in any real mustique outtake on a mustique tape!!

An article from Munich based newspaper "Süddeutsche Zeitung" ( www.sueddeutsche.de/muenchen/oasis-und-die-pruegelei-der-dicken-lippe-widerfaehrt-gerechtigkeit-1.740022) also states that there was a funny incident. They wrote the DJ played at one point an Oasis song being unaware of Oasis members having drinks inside the club. Liam and Allen apparently jumped on some kind of stage and started to mimic their own song - something unacceptable in this noble night club. Liam and Philip Bevan Smith were also under the influence of cocaine.

Vienna was great yesterday! I was standing next to the entrance, but had unhindered sight straight through the bar at the man. I'll remember that place! He seemed to be in a very good mood and so was the - according to a review 2.500 strong - crowd. Not every song worked for me, but those that did were brilliant and I'm so thankfull for Mighty I! My personal highlight. You were right, "The Mexican" does work live and it is a quite unique experience singing "Don't look back in anger" together with him and everybody else. Oops, gotta go to work now! The Mexican was great live. But I would disagree that he was in a good mood in Vienna. He was super silent this time and didn't seem to enjoy it a lot. As I was also at the Munich gig yesterday and he was way more fun on stage, I assume that he was pissed on Tuesday that he couldn't watch the Man City's Champions League game.
