Stormzy was naff but The Killers truly put Liam and his bunch of merry pricks to shame sadly. ðŸ˜
Liam so deserves better.

I’m going to continue saying it: it’s a real damn fucking shame that we now definitively have the best Liam vocals of this century, and Noel’s best ever material from DBTT onwards, for Oasis to remain defunct. Makes zero sense. It's a scandal. 😔 Would be so good.

The killers sound great but I can’t get over Flowers shiny pants and Elvis moves 🕺 Can’t imagine Liam standing there next to him singing for a whole song while he’s dancing and pointing around the stage 😂

Im not much keen on flowers tbh, he seems to sum up my issue with the killers after sams town and that is that they seemed to go into this 80s tribute act. Flowers knocking about in these dodgy 80s suits and awkward dance moves.
don't get me wrong, they are a great band but they just weren't my thing after sams town. They got abit synthetic.
side note though, much enjoyed the cure tonight, first time Ive ever really listened to them properly.

Their music ain't great tbh, but they put on a great show.
A bit like The Chemical Brothers.
Their albums are OK enough but live they come into their own.

Imagine 2006 Liam trying to sing The River, sweet baby Jesus.

My highlights from what I've seen were Stormzy's entire thing, Liam singing Columbia, slowthai putting on a propeller hat, This Charming Man without the racist, and Billie Eilish singing When the Party's Over.

From the ones I've heard:
-Shockwave: really good. Original key was a surprise, I thought he dropped it half a step a few days ago? -The River: struggled a bit on those high notes, I really don't understand why he keeps doing that. I liked the rest though. -Wall of Glass: solid performance, liked it. -Bold: struggling again on the high parts. Was a bit of a mess. -Roll With It: top vocals from Liam, I think it was his best. Better drumming this time. Sort the backing vocals and the outro and I'll be happy.

I much prefer that flamboyance to the earnest look of Sams Town. Seems like he’s having loads of fun and doesn’t take himself too seriously.

Hopefully the band can become more polished in time for the upcoming gigs in Oct/Nov.

Liam’s backing band are god awful. You know the band is bad when Liam’s voice is probably the only thing making it sound ok. That’s not a dig at Liam’s voice but it’s not unfair to say his voice had often become the weak link when playing live. But in this solo venture, he seems the only one that belongs there. The band sound like amateurs, incredibly ropey. Jay Mehler has stolen a living as a musician. He’s garbage. I’m not sure how he convinced both Kasabian and a Liam he could play. Con artist. Looks like a bootleg Noel and can’t even play as well as Bonehead, who was a very solid rhythm player to be fair Drew is a good bassist but someone take that mic off him please. The other guitarist is ok but has no conviction or balls in his playing. Seems like a session guitarist that plays with pop artists and not a rock n roll guitarist that can be part of driving a band. Technically proficient but just nothing about him. Drummer sounds like a guy that’s played drums at a music college and gone through those kind of courses. I bet he’s a graduate of music uni, I can hear that kind of playing a mile off. I dunno, just seems like they could find a much better band that know how to play this kinda stuff properly. I know they can play it, but not with the right attack. Aside from them, it wasn’t bad apart from bold and the one after that killed everything. It is what it is really. Oasis or them solo are not the kind that put on a big flashy spectacle, so at a festival it’s never going to blow people away. People either like the songs or they don’t. Bang on. Liam looked pissed off throughout the performance, too. Mentioning the drummer going on strike, telling the guitarist (I don't even know his name) to slow down several times during the set. Drew's vocals on Roll With it were actually disgraceful. The drummer is alright, but a bit vanilla. Jay is fucking horrendous, too. Liam looked relieved to be walking off stage yesterday. He looked embarrassed to share it with a few of them. Problem is, he doesn't know how organise a group of musicians. It wouldn't surprise me if Drew and Dan are actually better guitarists than Jay.

I remember watching The Killers playing "Somebody Told Me" at Glasto on BBC 2 when Oasis played at Pyramid Stage in 2004. I'm not a fan of Brandon Flowers doing Hollywood thing, but I was amazed to see how they became 15 years later.
and "Hot Fuss" is still a great album.

He makes singing look effortless. Hits every note whilst running around the stage. Would still take Liam's voice any day though.

Something that was apparent at the gig, when Liam introduced Wyatt and the crowd weren’t arsed. Was a bit of an awkward moment for them.
Whatever I or anyone else thinks of him, he totally changed the band. Can’t deny he’s an awesome musician.
Was also great playing with Miley on tv yesterday, although weird watching him play Old Town Road haha

Was also great playing with Miley on tv yesterday, although weird watching him play Old Town Road haha he had real presence and looked like he belonged on a stage with Liam Gallagher. I'm not a hater of the band but they do tend to look like what they mostly are, a bunch of session guys that are quietly wondering to themselves how they ended up doing this😂. I hoped they would grow into it as time went on but it just doesn't seem to be improving much at all. If he is going to stick with them until the end of this cycle then fair enough, I admire his loyalty, but something needs to change next time round. If he is going to headline Glastonbury in the future it would be a shame not to do it justice because of the band behind him.

I think the RnR intro will be taken from Jay, that’ll be a start.

I did like Wyatt on stage, he had a bit of presence about him. Come on Liam, please don't put your life in the hands of a rattle and roll band.

I wonder whether the band would receive the same level of criticism if they played behind a black curtain and people wouldn't know who played which instrument and therefore just listen to the music.
I find them neither really bad nor outstanding.

I find them neither really bad nor outstanding. A sound is a sound. They probably wouldn't get criticized for their look, but the music would be the same, eg, not very good when did Wyatt come on stage by the way ? Did not see the full performance.

A sound is a sound. They probably wouldn't get criticized for their look, but the music would be the same, eg, not very good I didn't want to imply they got criticised for their look. I just think that people criticise the band because they know/see who performs the songs and not because it really sounds bad. That means the exact same sound coming from Bonehead/Alan White/[insert the name of a random "credible musician"] wouldn't be received as bad. when did Wyatt come on stage by the way ? Did not see the full performance. Only for 'The River'
