Maybe Liam's got a bit of misplaced loyalty to some of the band. Jay's been around him for years and Dan helped him put his demos together. tbf Dan is clearly an extremely talented young man but maybe the fact that his talents are so wide stops him from being a great drummer. Although I know fuck all about drums I wonder if some of it might be in the way they're mic'ed? They don't sound powerful at all. It's just sloppy playing in a lot of areas unfortunately.

The beefed-up sound, when Andrew Wyatt came on for The River, is exactly how the band should always be! Suddenly sounded proper dirty rock n roll. That’s the version i was trying to explain, that I hoped would be on the album,

Holy fucking shit, Liam still can't sing. Those high notes are so painful.. and that backing vocal, facepalm. I will stick to Ed Sheeran. sorry. FIFY 😊

Maybe they just made an objective assessment of a fucking terrible band? Well maybe all the tickets when they headlined a few years later were bought up by Kasabian fans as it was objectively biggest crowd reaction I'd seen in 8 visits to Glastonbury. Was that 2014?

Just for the record: It's 2019 and Liam is playing second on the bill at Glastonbury (main stage), arguably the biggest music festival in the world - great times Can't wait for WMWN and the tour kicking off! I've been to several of his gigs and I'm looking forward to see him again

Shocking band, shocking guitar and drum sound. How much are they getting paid for that ?
The guitar set up is ridiculous. Wow, i Dont even know how they achieve such a bad sound with such a great equipment.
Too bad, Liam's vocals sounded good and the drummer is not half bad.

Yes mate, was surprising just how lively it was given the rain and mud. I was there. Didn't rate Kasabian (with their silly tee shirts) or the crowd. Goes to show how people going to the same event can have massively varied opinions.

I just watched it for a second time. Loved Columbia, slide away, roll with it. The gig was good bar a couple of mistakes here and there but fuck me, it was 27 degrees!! I struggle reaching for my pint in that heat let alone doing a gig.

Great set, Columbia, Slide Away and Wonderwall where amazing. Even Universal Gleam sounded great, he nailed it. Crowd didn’t interact with anyone else like with Liam.

Nah, Liam performed very good on every song, except for Bold where he fucked up a bit. And since Bold the band started messing up from time to time. The main issue was that the combination of that weird version of Bold and Universal Gleam (although performed well) really took away the momentum of the gig that was definitely build after Shockwave-Columbia-Slide Away-Roll With it (this part was really epic, both from Liam as the band) Watching a bit more now - Bold was fine I thought! Strange without the drums but not the disaster I was expecting. And I'm obviously in the minority here, but I love UG! Absolute tune!! Also a big fan of Universal Gleam. Bet it sounded unreal yesterday, the day slowly coming to an end, cider in hand.

Columbia is such a great song and easy to sing for Liam. Hope they keep it in the setlist.

The River seems like a good live song. I really like the heavy sound from Wyatts guitar.

There is big difference. I played with the dandy warhols a few years back and they sounded immense, but they never have a good sound with broadcasted featival bootlegs or live videos.

Wyatt is a cool cat ain't he? Get him part of the band full time! That live version of The River is pure filth, love it.

Liam's Glastonbury interview was on BBC Radio2 a moment ago. His plan was to watch Wu‐Tang Clan after his own show.

Drew’s backing vocals were awful. Inexplicably bad. They need to sort that out, it’s never gonna be the same as Noel but FFS, it shouldn’t sound so bad.
Disappointed that there were no real surprises in the set tbh. Hoped for something out of left field

Liam’s backing band are god awful. You know the band is bad when Liam’s voice is probably the only thing making it sound ok. That’s not a dig at Liam’s voice but it’s not unfair to say his voice had often become the weak link when playing live. But in this solo venture, he seems the only one that belongs there. The band sound like amateurs, incredibly ropey.
Jay Mehler has stolen a living as a musician. He’s garbage. I’m not sure how he convinced both Kasabian and a Liam he could play. Con artist. Looks like a bootleg Noel and can’t even play as well as Bonehead, who was a very solid rhythm player to be fair
Drew is a good bassist but someone take that mic off him please.
The other guitarist is ok but has no conviction or balls in his playing. Seems like a session guitarist that plays with pop artists and not a rock n roll guitarist that can be part of driving a band. Technically proficient but just nothing about him.
Drummer sounds like a guy that’s played drums at a music college and gone through those kind of courses. I bet he’s a graduate of music uni, I can hear that kind of playing a mile off.
I dunno, just seems like they could find a much better band that know how to play this kinda stuff properly. I know they can play it, but not with the right attack.
Aside from them, it wasn’t bad apart from bold and the one after that killed everything. It is what it is really. Oasis or them solo are not the kind that put on a big flashy spectacle, so at a festival it’s never going to blow people away. People either like the songs or they don’t.

What I loved is that The River and Shockwave stood up tall against all the Oasis tunes, didn't sound out of place.
