Like a hot chick in a high budget porno, you knew this thread was coming.
The battle of the most consistent....
No Lyla, No TIOBI, No POTQ
But As You Were might just edge it: Better production for sure. And a testament to how poorly DBTT has aged - despite it still being a good album.

I'll say this. You rank AYW vs any post BHN Oasis album (though it is so different from SOTSOG and DOYS), AYW has more quality songs, but the highs on the Oasis albums are better. There are not a lot of throwaways on AYW, whereas all post BHN albums have at least 3 or 4, if not more, and those are all shorter albums.
Yes maybe I am still coming off the high of the album. But there are too many very strong and catchy melodies. The production is too good. And his voice is too good. Honestly, you cannot dismiss this album vs. any post BHN album.

Too early for me to say since I haven't listened enough yet. But my experience is that people (including me) rated DGSS and BE as high as the four most recent Oasis albums in the first months after release. But the Oasis albums stand the test of time better.

Remember the GEM factor. He is the opposite of the Midas touch. No GEM = good album I don’t think any Oasis/ LG/ NG album post SOTSOG has aged particularly well. Maybe most of DOYS

Some good songs on both, some shite songs on both. Both solid 7/10's for me.

Don't Believe the Truth has some great tunes, but As You Were is much better imo, especially in its entirety.

Like comparing molded cheese to a strawberry cheesecake. As you were.

How is this happening? Don't Believe The Truth is great. I love Liam and am excited for his #1, but DBTT is the most cohesive effort of Liam, Noel, Andy and Gem sharing writing duties and sounding like an unstoppable (record) machine. Plus Zak Starkey is drumming, my personal favorite oasis drummer. What happened to you guys? Man, you used to be cool, but you've changed, man...

Don't Believe The Truth. The first Oasis release after I got into them and happy to be witnessed all the craziness before, during and after the release.
No offence, but why do people like to compare one to another all the time?

I really dont know. DbTt still has massive singles.. but lets wait if AYW songs are growers...
I put it above DOYS and HC and the other post oasis efforts without doubt.

DBTT is way better. Even Different Gear, Still Speeding is better than As you were.

As You Were for me. A more consistent album, much better production as well.

Be careful about your opinions here guys. Only a select few seem to be allowed to have their own views without being dismissed as nonsense..

DBTT is way better. Even Different Gear, Still Speeding is better than As you were. Good effort. It's true (for me). I've just listened to it for the first time after years. The Roller and Four Letter Word are still 5/5's for me and better than pretty much everything on AYW and songs like For Anyone, Kill For A Dream, The Morning Son are still good songs as well. And at least this album is a 100% Liam (Rock n Roll straight in ya face) unlike AYW which is full of slow ass 'ballads'....

DBTT is certainly not flawless, but it has a legacy that AYW can only dream of.

I find Don't Believe The Truth to be more cohesive as an album, it flows better and it has Lyla and The Importance Of Being Idle. But the collection of songs in As You Were and the sonic approach, even though the mastering is garbage, are slightly better. The worst songs in AYW are better than the worst in DBTT. So, As You Were for now.
