even if the promo and everything about AYW seems perfect, when it comes to sinles i see so many lost chances for something better. first it was "For What Its Worth" with no physical release, losing the chance for better sales n a better place in the chart. Then the WTF release of Parer crown. I suppose it wasnt a single at all, with a video that for so many days nobody could watch it cause it was unlisted!!! Definitely one of the strongest track of the album that with the right promo could easily make it in the charts. also "i v all i need" limited release..which was a limited release with limited impact in the charts even if it could also make it in the top 100. now Liam with AYW is a big name at least in UK and his releases deserve something more than a limited release or only download release. Give both. and put something extra as a b side. Both brothers do so some wonky ass things when it comes to single releases. It doesn't really matter but you gotta nail the debut single off each album. Once the album is out to the masses, singles don't do the business for the most part.

It’s amazing the swings in chart placement from week to week in the UK. How many more copies did Noel and Liam get going from the 70s to 30s? ~1'000/1'100 copies 😅 Isn't chart position mostly determined by number of streams rather than actual sales these days? Or does that only apply to the singles chart?

No chance of AYW hitting 500K then? Maybe 2019/2020. The release of album #2 should give AYW a sales boost too.

No chance of AYW hitting 500K then? If AYW came out in 2011, it would easily creep north of 800,000 total by now. Only a few years ago but a totally different era and climate for commercial music. Nobody buys CDs anymore and it’s getting harder for streams to “count” as a unit sold.

Apart from three weeks back in the top 100 after the reissue came out in 2016, it's been out of the charts since August '99. Shame. The (I think, incorrect) notion that most of the music press eventually adopted, that the album was an irredeemable failure, must have been very pervasive.

Idiot question - but how are them two Oasis albums still in the charts? Is it based on sales / downloads? Or is it more likely to be on streams
