I'm sure Noel's team also did a lot of research on his week as well. I could see Noel being very paranoid. He wants #3 to go #1.......obviously. Yea, even when an album hasn't been announced for release, there's always more information that a record label as big as Warner Bros. would have at their disposal. So though Eminem and Swift haven't officially announced their albums, there are probably good "guesses" out there as to when it could be. For Noel, it might be trickier. He's awfully close to Christmas, and that's when there's a greater chance for a major release to come out of nowhere tbh. But I'm sure his people have also done a lot of research too. Edit: And Liam does have 6 months worth of pre-orders. I honestly expect him to possibly shift 100k plus. i don't want bad for anyone but I hope liam out sells Noel on this one just for his own feeling of success and maybe make him believe in himself and want more music. What is crazy is the fact 100,000 will get you a number 1 before if you didn't push 1 million you had no shot

I wonder when Songs of Experience will be released by U2. Big chance they are aiming for Christmas too.

There are still a bunch of artists with fall releases coming up who haven't announced an album release yet. That kind of noise could wreck Liam's victory party. Clear path right now but those random release can create chaos. If Taylor Swift dumps an album that week he's done for. Or Eminem. My point is other artists are looking at Liam's week and noticing no big time albums come out that week. True, but October's release schedule is light in general. As of the moment, Liam's album is the only major one that's being released that month. So I think those artists are pretty open to release any week. Plus, I think Warner Brothers may have some more inside knowledge than what's been announced, in terms of when albums will be released. So I think they've decided on the album date will all the information available. It's worth noting that Eminems album will almost certainly be released post October. The grammy cut off point is 31 October for next year and with Jay Z and Kendricks album being released recently he won't want to compete with them at next year's grammys so will be releasing it November onwards so as to be in contention for the grammys 2019. Hope that makes sense

It would be worth buying add time on iTunes or YouTube you would think

He will do better in the 🇺🇸 charts when the album drops. I mean hell I have 5 copy's coming my way bc of tickets and presales stuff. Idk if anyone knows this but I know they track digital and cd sales but do they track people buying vinyl records in the limited pressings? I know a ton of people buy them now. I'm one of them. It's so cool that the albums are making a come back in that form.

It's a case of keep your eye on the big picture, not hour by hour tune charts for the US. The way they handled the album giveaway with tickets here will count IF people click and download (so if you want to help him out and bought five tickets, click and download five times). See this article for specifics: www.google.com/amp/www.spin.com/2017/04/chainsmokers-number-one-album%3famp=1Also, the US is big. A BBC2 play might let many in the U.K. know a song is out, it doesn't work that way here. It is more cumulative - tours, articles, tv appearances, interviews tied with touring, maybe radio play (and that isn't a given - many artists do very well touring and more with zero radio play).

It should be interesting to see if the Colbert performance, has an impact on the U.S. charts.

Beck has announced his much anticipated new album is coming out in October. Didn't reveal the exact date. I forgot about him. Another big shark to worry about for a Liam #1.

Is Beck big in the States? Or elsewhere for that matter? I'm fairly sure over here the majority of people is only familiar with Loser and MAYBE Sexx Laws as it was featured in some commercial.

He's pretty popular. His last album won Grammy of The Year so there is naturally a lot of interest in his new material.

Beck has never had a #1 album in the UK. His highest charting is #4. His last album only went silver in the UK. I don't think he's a threat to #1, honestly.

Nobody is a threat to As You Were being a number 1. I also have no doubt at all Liam will fill out venues on a UK arena tour. I genuinely believe it's a gimme for him, because of the strength of this album - plus the cool shorts and stuff.

Liam hasn't announced a UK tour or released an album yet. I mean, on his last solo tour Noel played at the Echo arena. That's 11k people. He played a total of 6 arenas on the last UK/Ireland leg of his tour, totaling over 60k people. Mind you, Noel has two platinum albums (the first going near triple platinum), BRIT appearances, and bigger solo hits than Liam. And even he showed trepidation about playing arenas. To assume Liam has it in the bag is presuming a lot.

To assume Liam has it in the bag is presuming a lot. Yet, my perception - as a non-UK-citizen - is, that Liam Gallagher has a way bigger image than Noel does? Like all those lads and geezers and mancunians and whatnotever, they love Liam in the UK, don't they? To me it felt at Oasis concerts in the UK that the huge majority of people had that "let's got with my mates to an rock'n'roll night, down 10 pints and have a good time"-vibe. Seeing Noel during his UK tour in 2012 it felt much more like a matured, calm audience. That's why I'm wondering if walterglass might not be that wrong, that Liam could draw different (and bigger) crowds with his swagger attitude in the UK?
