Guessing they've decided to take advantage of the increased interest in the band this documentary might generate

I'm really suprised with Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants since Noel really hate that album (I think he 'hate' Be Here Now because the press didn't like it.)

Not that big of a deal. Vinyl reissue. Whatever. Hardly a deluxe treatment like DM and MG got.

I'm guessing these will be re-pressings of the existing master (derived from CD), rather than remastered from scratch. But I guess they may have lined these up for full reissues at some point. If so, I wonder who would remaster them. Ian Cooper (who remastered DM, MG, and BHN) has since retired. Maybe Greg Calbi, who mastered Chasing Yesterday.

Why no HC?

Vinyls are the only physical format that sell, so it makes perfect sense that they are reissuing them.

Cool I'd like to have a vinyl version of SOTSOG. Great artwork and I'm one of the few fans of the album

Should to it for HC and DOYS too. I can imagine there's a lot of people that want all the albums on vinyl without wanting to paying original pressing prices.

Good news, particularly for DBTT, I've been after a vinyl copy of that for ages. Finally able to get one at a normal price, instead of buying it off some wanker trying to make a profit by selling the 2009 reissue for £80.
Any UK pre-order links up yet?

Worry not - Heathen Chemistry and The Masterplan are also being reissued. This website is taking preorders for The Masterplan, SOTSOG, Heathen Chemistry and DBTT (all available 12 August 2016). www.srcvinyl.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=oasisSince the DM and WTSMG remasters are still available, that leaves a convenient BHN-shaped hole in the catalogue - which is promising! I wonder why there's no DOYS though - is that still readily available on wax?

I'm guessing these will be re-pressings of the existing master (derived from CD), rather than remastered from scratch. Would that make them identical to the 2009 Big Brother versions? This website lists them as "180 gram vinyl reissues". Were the Big Brother versions pressed on heavyweight vinyl? www.srcvinyl.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=oasis

No, as far as I know, it's only ever been released on vinyl as a 2LP (and as a 7 x 10" fan club box set).

This website lists them as "180 gram vinyl reissues". Were the Big Brother versions pressed on heavyweight vinyl? www.srcvinyl.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=oasisThe 2009 Big Brother versions were indeed on heavyweight vinyl, cut by Miles Showell at Metropolis if I remember rightly! He's not credited on the sleeve, but here was a thread on Steve Hoffman forum where someone pointed out his signature in the deadwax. As I recall the mastering seemed a bit less compressed on the 2009s than the respective CDs, particularly Be Here Now. The mastering seemed slightly more open and less heavily limited to me, although I'm aware that comparing the dynamics of vinyl pressings to CDs is a minefield. Hope the above is of some help anyway. I haven't seen any more concrete info on these, or indeed on the forthcoming reissues of Giants, DBTT etc. Will keep an eye out & I'll post any links I find in this thread.

I have the 2009 box set and they sound great so I'll pass on buying these. Good chance for other fans to snap up some vinyl copies.
